I agree, nothing to do with you sucking or anything like that. Spaceflight is hard and the game represents this in a way. But on the other hand the game is very rewarding when you progress. And you will progress for sure, just keep at it. Read the forums, watch videos, and play a lot. Personally I suck at shooter games, and most probably will never improve in them much, but on KSP I feel like I still learn new things and improve all the time. Designs, missions and maneuvers, everything. It is a super rewarding game when you are into spaceflight, I dont see myself getting tired of it anytime soon. And yeah, when I first started out everything seemed so hard. We all were like that. Good luck and have fun, see you on the forum

Best place to put a space station?
Dafni replied to Gibster's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Okay then, thank you. And yeah, the additional time warp speed is nice to have too, for those fuel efficient slow approach rendez-vous situations etc. -
Okay crew, in previous versions of KSP (up until 1.3 I believe) the game would assign individual tags to each button of your joysticks. Now the buttons are just called Button1, 2, 3, etc, without indicating on which joystick they are. Fortunately it still does that for the axes of the sticks, hence enabling us to still use more than one stick. But for the buttons it would not recognize on which stick said button is. If you happen to have a Button 1 on two different sticks, the commands will overlap and become useless. So, two questions now: Why did they change that? It used to work so well. And second, is there a way around this? Thank you in advance Daf

Best place to put a space station?
Dafni replied to Gibster's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Back in the old days of KSP, and in cases where performance of the game was an issue, it was suggested to have the LKO stations above 250km. Apparently 250km was the distance for the surface to render in a higher detail or something like that, sacrificing a chunk of performance. Anybody know if this is still the case these days? -
Inline stayputnik?
Dafni replied to Spudmeist3r's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
Yes, a spherical structural part would be nice indeed. With high impact and heat tolerance please, and low mass too. @SQUAD how about it? You are right about the unintended use, me and many others tent to ignore the real intentions for parts a lot when we build stuff. One of the nice aspects of KSP. But yeah, of course you are right and I get your point. -
Inline stayputnik?
Dafni replied to Spudmeist3r's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
To provide us with a spherical collider box for all kinds of tricks/exploits, like hinges, ball-joints etc. Other than that, yeah, its pretty useless. But I'm a sandbox player, no idea how it fits into the career progression at all. -
Okay, fair point. But once you have KSP there wont be much time for other games just kidding mate, have fun and see you on the forum

I just built a new rig. No picture on me, but i used this case here: http://www.corsair.com/en-us/crystal-series-570x-rgb-atx-mid-tower-case Turned out super nice. It has a i7-8700K and a 1080Ti now, runs very good. I can recommend that case, the build was a breeze and it keeps everything nice and cool. Maybe a bit more expensive than other cases. The one you posted looks nice too. Have fun with your built.

Why even waiting for a sale? It is like 30 bucks, right? If you can afford it, go for it! It will most probably be one of the best dollars-to-fun ratio purchases you do in a long time. At least it was for me.

Hmm, interesting. Makes you wonder why they picked that engine in the first place. Are there better alternatives at all then?? @Shadowmage thank you for your informative post. Nice way of explaining it. Up until now I did not know some of the facts you explained, and the thing about manually applied gravity now explains a lot for me. Thank you again.

How to make KSP more accurate?
Dafni replied to PhysicsBoy's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Good question. I would guess if you suddenly apply n-body physics to the stock Jool system it would mess it up pretty bad very quick. Maybe only Tylo would not care much and just stay where it is? After swallowing the smaller neighbors maybe? -
How to make KSP more accurate?
Dafni replied to PhysicsBoy's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Oh, okay, I stand gladly corrected then. Nice to hear, and definitely something to check out now that my PC should be able to handle such things. Thanks for the information, and sorry for the misinformation on my part. -
How to make KSP more accurate?
Dafni replied to PhysicsBoy's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
yes, plus (correct me if I am wrong) none of those mods include n-body physics, Lagrange points (mentioned by OP) etc. Haven't messed with RO stuff in ages though, and would love to be proved wrong on this. -

...when you look at that trajectory visualization and want to change the perspective by holding the right mouse button and moving the mouse around. -
@GillyMonster thanks for sharing. I'll try to take it out for a ride on the weekend.

How about a DL link? Would love to give it a spin.

[1.12.x] Konstruction! Weldable ports, servos, cranes, and magnets!
Dafni replied to RoverDude's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Hello all, lovely mod. Just one question: is it okay to remove parts from the folder? Or will doing so cause any weirdness?- 1,473 replies

Very nice looking replica, and a great poster too. Well done.

Nifty design with the offset node stack magic. Very neat. Expect more feedback after I had some stick time with your new bird. Thanks for sharing.

That's true, I agree with you there. But the above statement of the OP made me assume he considers fluid gameplay a necessity. When EVE alone is to much for your machine/expectations, then scatterer etc would definitely require a hardware update. I guess we can both agree on that as well. edit: for the record, and to the OP: on my laptop I run KSP with EVE and low res clouds pluse a skinned down scatterer (none of the water stuff etc) and some other lean mods and I am failry happy with the performance, as long as the craft on scene are not too big. The laptop is pretty decent though.

Yep, eye candy mods in KSP are pretty heavy on your resources. You need plenty of RAM and a good CPU to run those smoothly, I only really started to use them after I got powerful hardware.

Looking very nice indeed! Almost too shiny. Excited to try them when you release them. Thanks for your work. -
[1.3.*-1.12.*] Pood's Skyboxes [v1.3.0] [17th Jan. 2019]
Dafni replied to Poodmund's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Thank you, I am doing this already. It helps to an extend. Surprisingly it looks the best with DOEs brightness maxed out. It's an issue with the screen, on another screen it looks as smooth as ever, but on my new screen the banding persists no matter what I try. GPU settings, screen settings... I think I have it optimized pretty good now, and like I said, it really only bothers me on the KSP skybox still.
