  1. Thank you @Galileo. It sounds so easy when you say it px is pixel, I assume. So you say I take a black pixel from somewhere, find those ghost textures in the scatterer texture folder, and replace them with my pixel? I could try to do this indeed, just a bit hesitant as I never created textures or messed with the internals of any mod in any way yet. What would happen if we just delete those ghost textures? And, wouldnt a black texture in this place give me still some sort of ghosted out black planes? Thanks again for your help, it is greatly appreciated
  2. Thanks again for this awesome mod @blackrack I appreciate it a lot. For certain screenshots that lens flare bothers me a bit though. Is there a way to disable just this lens effect without getting rid of the whole sun flare? Thanks in advance -Daf
  3. Thank you for this. The Deep Star Map might be just what I was looking for, as my current screen has a bit of color banding with very dark colors. Generally it is hard to see and it doesn't bother me much in game(s), just the stock KSP skybox irks me still.
  4. Re-discovering this awesome mod right now. Thanks for all the work. The Apollo stuff is what I appreciate the most right now, I just love your CM, it is beyond awesome!
  5. Awesome looking mod, you just might have rekindled my desire to actually play the game again, start new saves etc. Thank you very much for your amazing work.
  6. No rush mate. And btw, some impressive flying again, nice run in that first clip.
  7. Thank you, appreciate your input. I hear you on the competitive edge over good looks argument, makes sense. Maybe I need to look into GTAV myself too, for the eye candy experience? Sounds like it is well optimized. Keep PUBG for the competitive rush and optimize the settings for performance. I like that thought. Now back to KSP!
  8. Many thanks in advance for the new update @Galileo I'm sure it takes a lot of time. Me and many others appreciate your work a lot. Thanks again and keep it up.
  9. Those are impressive numbers indeed. This is with the setup you posted in the OP? I know it is way off topic, but do you mind sharing the settings for PUBG? (we could do this via PM if you are more comfortable this way) I have a i7-8700K, 32GB ddr4 ram, 1080Ti and one of those super fast new samsung SSDs, getting around 100fps in PUBG with ultra settings (and WQHD res) if I run stock speeds. Needs the OC for more, but I run mostly stock speeds. cheers, and sorry for the off-topic-ness
  10. Interesting design. I'll make sure to give it a spin before long. Thanks for sharing.
  11. Thank you. I appreciate your opinion. I hear you on the RAM. The plan was to go 32, but I found a deal for a set of refurbished 4 x 16GB bars that I could not pass up. Thanks again. Cant wait to go to town on my new setup. So far I am very impressed indeed. Edit: your statement made me pass on half the RAM to somebody who needs it more. And you are right, most probably I'll not gonna miss it anytime soon.
  12. I just finished my first PC build ever. Very happy with it. Went the long way and saved up for the top gear. It has a i7-8700K, a 1080Ti and a very nice screen. Was saving $$ for ages! So happy everything is up and running now. Finally I can use all the mods I wanted (64GB of 3000mHz RAM) So cool. Anyway, now I am messing with my new router and internet connection as I am playing a shooter game with my son sometimes. I have no idea what numbers to expect. So my question here is what is considered enough for online gaming? I have 100Mbit/s down and 20Mbit/s up, with a ping to the local server of the game we play between 20 to 50ms. Think these numbers are acceptable for gaming an online shooter? Thanks in advance Daf
  13. Awesome job, mate. The lamp looks very nice.
  14. Congrats on the new hardware. I hope everything goes together well and you'll enjoy your system. I know the feeling, I just finished my first ever PC build, at the age of forty, and I couldn't be happier. Was worth it to save up on money, time and components. Now I can finally play KSP with all the mods I want. Let alone enjoy some other eye candy games. Universe Sandbox runs a solid 165fps now, was a slideshow on my "gaming" laptop from 4yrs ago. cheers Daf
  15. To make it more clear: on my PC with new screen and GPU and everything, the whitish nebula and the sun flare color gradient fade out real ugly, with low res color steps. Anybody any idea what could be wrong there???
  16. EDIT: now that I look at those pics from my laptop they seem prefectly fine! What gives? A screen setting? Or the new GPU? Hey crew, does anyone have an idea how I could fix this? Like the title says, after I upgraded my PC the skybox suddenly looks like the pics below. Anything else looks okay and the game plays super smooth now. note the low res color fade, used to be a smooth fade before. Any help would be greatly appreciated. many thanks in advance -Daf EDIT: now that I look at those pics from my laptop they seem prefectly fine! What gives? A screen setting? Or the new GPU?
  17. Thank you. But its Galileo who really rocks
  18. Nice debut then my friend. And thanks again for sharing.
  19. okay, I see. a non-default setting then. gotta love KSP and rovers
  20. Your rover looks very nice and by the sound of it must perform awesome. I'll definitely give it a try. Thanks for sharing the file. I'll keep an eye on your kerbalx for sure. As for the reaction wheels toggling, couldnt you just switch SAS completely off? One click? I remember in a previous version of KSP I had a rover with the same "issue" of many hidden torque wheels and I got into the habit of just clicking SAS off.

    Spectroscopy thread

Nice pics. How did you get them exactly. I have been working in and around spectroscopy for 2 decades now. Fundamental research, inorganic chemistry.
