  1. Or use the remaining dV to make a boost-back and landing of the first stage, like SpaceX does???
  2. You can do that, easy. Copy, keep and play your older istalls however you want. I play 0.9 sometimes. And if you dont keep old installs, I believe you can dial back to 1.0.5 on steam (not 100% sure on this, I'd need to check my steam. but look for the tap with last stable versions)
  3. I have days where I whistle the Maus tune too Or the Löwenzahn tune. Bet you know what I am talking about. And hey, btw, I think they still air the Maus to this day.
  4. In stock, not that i am aware of. I know exactly what you are talking about, and its super awkward to get it right in stock.
  5. Great craft, just like its predecessor. So, anyone in here got some wing time on this one yet? How do you like the handling?
  6. I agree with you there. But I am just a user though, no idea myself about writing mods or configs. The install I was talking about is just that, a stock KSP install where I added the lovely SSRSS mod and its dependencies, and then went ahead and added Tykos configs that he posted here. All the different iterations of KSP on my drive I call "installs", sorry for the confusion. Like I have an RSS install, a SSRSS install etc.
  7. Do you decouple them when they are still burning? Because they should be completely burned out at the point you decouple them, and then they just fall away from your core. You could also use Separatrons to push them away from the core when you decouple.
  8. Also be aware that the setting called "Lens Flare Shader" in the scatterer menu on the KSP start screen seems to disable the sun flare completely when you un-tick it. I fell for that not to long ago, assuming that this setting only affects this lens effect and not the sun flare itself.
  9. True, its impossible it seems. From what I gather so far, the common part pressure limit is 4000. Dont know if this goes for all parts, nor what units it uses. There seems to be a patch floating around somewhere on here to fix this whole issue. Our dear @gamerscircle just provided me with a patch config thing via stream that looks like it changes the pressure limit of parts to 20000. But I just noted down a few lines of half cryptic text that I am stuck to implement into the game myself. looks a lot like this: (but it has the fancy brackets, plus that wavy line instead of -) @PART(*):HAS(-maxPressure(<4000)):NEEDS(RealSolarSystem)(%maxPressure=20000) sounds like a good fix, but of course changing the pressure curve of Venus would work too. Or like you guys said just disable the setting. Dont see why we need it anyway, and it can be terrifying when parts just expode seemingly out of the blue. And yeah, please excuse my ignorance when it come to writing configs etc many thanks for your help in advance. (edit: I´m throwing this out here to contribute to the understanding of the issue, rather than getting help writing configs. Guess its hopeless when I dont even find that wavy line on my keyboard)
  10. Hey @Galileo, I have not been to Venus in the latest 2 ssrss patches, and now I am wondering if we still have this pressure problem? (venus surface pressure exceeds the pressure limit of the stock KSP parts) I´m just asking to spare me the frustration of going there and finding out the hard way again. And if the problem still persists, do you see an easy fix? I understand Venus is hard, and it should be, but not impossible please. At least for probes. Thanks in advance
  11. You are welcome! Again many thanks for the help and for all the work on this lovely mod, I appreciate it a lot. It really is an amazing mod, big kudos to all, you, dependency devs etc.
  12. I got it now. Sigma was the culprit. I was pretty convinced I downloaded a fresh version when 0.0.3.0 dropped, like I did for all other dependencies on that day. Thanks for the help everybody.
  13. Now its too big, eh? What a life I get the same flare here I believe, just in case you missed my post above. Suddenly the threat lights up too
  14. Now how embarrassing is this? I got it now. Its hidden in the Lens Flare Shader setting (I always assumed its just those lens effects). Sorry for wasting your time like that @Galileo. I am grateful for the help though. And guys, HOLY MOTHER OF ALL BRIGHT SUNFLARES!! I see what you are talking about now @eddiew! Need sunglasses now It looks so bright I feel the vessels in Earth orbit ought to light up way more. Time to play with the configs now I guess. I might try to turn the flare down a little, according to Galileos advice above. cheers guys, and thanks for helping edit: @sylneo thanks mate, I get the same now
  15. Okay @Galileo, I see what you mean now. The sunflare I get without scatterer indeed has that somewhat realistic look that we know from RSS: However, when scatterer is installed I get this: and in mapview it looks like this, again with scatterer does it looks the same for you? many thanks for your time, I appreciate it.
  16. Thank you for the explanation. Makes a lot of sense now. I'll upload some screenshots later to see if we all talk about the same thing here. Might be just my own impression.
  17. Thank you @Galileo for looking into this. I am on central European time here, and I did not see your message yesterday, sorry. I am at work now and will provide you some screenshots as soon as I get the chance tonight. As far as I remember, my sun looks the same with or without scatterer. I will verify this tonight and post some pictures. (in the meantime, I can tell that it looks a lot like the pics of the tiny sun some other member posted a page or two back, FWIW) Thanks again and stay tuned Edit: I found the post in question. Just as a visual reference in the meantime:
  18. @Galileo any idea why i still get that tiny sun? Everything else work and looks okay. The Sun in staging view is like a distant star, and in map view its very tiny too.
  19. @Galileo I could not find a sunflare config or file in the latest DL (maybe I am looking in the wrong places?) and indeed my sun is still very tiny in the game. Running SSRSS 0.0.3.0 on KSP 1.3.0 of course. With Scatterer 0.0320b. Everyting else looks very nice on the first few glances I had. Thanks again.
