  1. No big deal, and thanks again. BTW, extra kudos for putting the version number in the folder names. Wish all modders would do that.
  2. Editor Extensions Redux and RCS Build Aid for the editor, as well as KER. For parts mods the grid fins and landing legs from the Kerbal Reusability Expansion. EVE and Scatterer for visuals, as well as Distant Object Enhancement and Planetshine. And then of course the lovely RSS and SSRSS. Thats about it. As soon as these mods are updated for each new KSP patch I consider my mod suit complete.
  3. F5 instead if F9, yeah, I did that before. Very annoying. And alt-F4 instead of alt-F5 is a total pain too. Managed that as well.
  4. Nice release man, well done. Craft and video are very easy on the eye. I'll definitely take it for a spin tonight. Gotta love those Whiplashes, they are very powerful.
  5. I was thinking about that too @Snark but do you know if KSP is smart enough for this?
  6. Great ideas! Would be cool to see this come to life somehow. Maybe even include some parts to build the flying saucer a bit easier, like a cockpit? And obviously we'd need a Plumbus too Just make sure to keep your Kerbals away from the Kalaxian crystals
  7. Nice! Cool video. Some pretty hairy maneuvers for a cargo bird the song had me laughing too, nice choice
  8. Cool! Very well done. I know how it feels. Glad you kept it up. RTLS is very rewarding in KSP, right?
  9. Must be something on your end. For me they are there (KSP 1.3.0, SSRSS 0.0.2.9) And btw, its Deimos Sorry I cant be of more help. Maybe try a fresh install? Or post your logs for the mod dev to have a look??
  10. Yes, the ridiculous deadzone is what moves many players away from the 3D stick eventually. After you have tried something else its impossible to go back. I still use its throttle lever in my KSP cockpit though, that thing is smooth and very reliable. Wish they spent a little more on the joystick sensors... could be a great stick.
  11. Yes, messing with the settings like that is perfectly reasonable. Sometimes I even had to re-adjust my sticks after new KSP versions came out. The Extreme 3D is also a bit notorious for dead-zone inaccuracies. Might have to increase the dead zones too.
  12. A cargo plane? Nice! Maybe next a cargo SSTO do deliver a brand new lander/dropship to LKO?
  13. You are right of course. I wrote Pe instead of Ap. Sorry for the confusion. I corrected it in my post. Was just a brainfart typo, the rest is correct and how me and many others do it on a regular basis. (for example the famous streamers EJ_SA or MatoroIgnika)
  14. Other than the lack of scatterer, my 1.3.0 SSRSS install is complete and running stable, including clouds and everything. Textures look good, game runs smooth and stable. Thank you very much @Galileo for the whole package. I am especially happy with the performance and looks of the cloud layers, up to the point where I dont even miss scatterer much. The only thing that still irks me is the sun appears a bit small. Maybe anybody could suggest a different sunflare and how to install it. Same goes for an install I built around @Tyko´s 2.5x rescale config. Runs nice and the stretched textures still look very acceptable. Altough I have to admit on the larger scale I feel the absence of scatterer a bit more. Dont know why, maybe just because I am used to the awesomeness it brings to RSS installs. Still great stuff though. Thanks for sharing the configs. Thank you guys
  15. Thank you @Snark for the confirmation. I know a good bit of physics and was pretty convinced I understood how the game "simulates" multiple engines etc. Still nice to get confirmation, even if its just for the sake of other visitors following the discussion. On top of that, sometimes I'm not only starting to doubt my own logic, but also my ability to translate it into the english language. And your confirmation covers that doubt too, thanks again buddy.
  16. sorry, but this is not how we define stock around here. If you edit files, it has been modified. Period. Still a nice craft though
  17. Now that is great news. So can we expect a full 1.3 release?? Many thanks to each and all involved in keeping this lovely mod alive and even keep on improving it.
  18. Its true. But somehow I like them that way. It gives you options for very compact designs, and removes a bit of the guilty feeling of clipping fuel
  19. @EmbersArc how do you feel about adding another bigger size of the gridfins and Falcon9 legs?
  20. If you are willing to try out a parts mod, the landing legs and grid fins from KRE are very nice for these kind of landings Usually I am not one for parts mods, but I have some installs where I add just the legs and fins from KRE because I think something like this should be in stock by now. that sounds interesting. I never knew such a thing as a slowmo mod existed. Might have to look into that indeed, maybe raise the success rate on those landings with super tight fuel budget. Altough it has to be said I enjoy the challenge of those intense 10 secs a lot lately.
  21. I did it before in stock, as have many others. It requires some thought, but it is entirely possible. First of all, can you do it with one booster, like a Falcon 9 does?? If yes, then you know that everything becomes much easier if the first stage has a Ap of over 70km (ie the game wont delete your booster anymore) Now with two side boosters you can do something very similar, just do the two boost-back burns slightly different, so that one booster stays airborne a bit longer, giving you time to land the first one. You could go to the famous twitch stream of @MatoroIgnika, I learned this from him actually. Find an old video of him doing it, or actually ask him on a live stream and I am sure he will show it off and explain you how to do it.
