Add Proper Gamepad / Joystick Support
Dafni replied to ZooNamedGames's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
I never modified a file in KSP! When you say open the settings.cgf, how do you do that? Just windows editor? I´ll look into it later today. Thanks a lot -

Check the thread I linked to above. I got impatient I started my own thread about this. Thank you man, I hope I can get this working. -
Add Proper Gamepad / Joystick Support
Dafni replied to ZooNamedGames's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
Yes, I know, but I want to assign that comand to a button on the joystick, so I dont have to click on the screen. Press a button on the stick to switch to docking mode, without having to reach for the mouse. -
Add Proper Gamepad / Joystick Support

Thanks, I understand this. Its the button to switch between the staging and docking mode that I am looking for. But thank you nevertheless for your time -
Thank you. I´ll have to read that a couple times though, and try it when I have the game running. Right now it sounds a bit complicatet, cant really understand it, but I will get there. A bit like reverse programming a command, right? So you say it will need to be 2 different comands? One to enter docking mode, and another one to exit it? Why, Squad, why? A "toggle docking mode" comand would have made a lot of sense too. Anyway, thanks again. I´ll try to execute what you kindly explained later today. Daf

Add Proper Gamepad / Joystick Support
Dafni replied to ZooNamedGames's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
I dont seem to be able to find that button. Any help would be greatly appreciated. -
Yes, I agree, a throttle is important, and I use one too. Just not the Warthog one. Its integrated in my control panel, and both dual sticks (up to now) had one too.
-
Thank you, but what good is this if I want to assign it to a joystick??? If they did not make that particular comand available for joystick assignements it would be seriously messed up! I hope somebody finds it LOL
-
I cannot find where to assign the comand for switching between staging mode and docking mode in the settings. I´d like to have that comand on my joystick somewhere, as people where advising this to access two different sets of axis assignements on the fly. Surely this must be doable? Am I just temporarily blind? Thanks in advance Daf

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience and opinion, I appreciate it. I only ever felt that stick in a shop, never had the honor to actually use one at home. Note that I am only interested in the stick itself at this point, not the throttle unit. At the moment I use a dual stick setup plus a little self-made control panel. The T-FLIGHT is no option for me. Additionally, even though it is a nice piece of kit for this price, the light plastic feeling puts me off it anyway. Tried so many plastic sticks now I could have bought at least two Warthogs. I am aware of the missing z-axis. When I first saw that stick I was very disappointed by this, but now I understand it as a necessity to achieve this kind of precision and durability. The feel of that flight stick is far superior to any other stick I have tried (many), and the alleged long-term precision is definitely tickling my interest. The missing axis is not a big issue for me at this point, there are several solutions for this. The main thing that is holding me back is the waiting list for the left hand conversion mod, but once my spot on the list comes up I think I will most likely upgrade my sticks with this. I fly a lot of VTOLs, Dropships, landers etc, and I think my KSP experience would indeed benefit from a better quality joystick. I get annoyed by dead-zone inaccuracies etc. Once I am perfectly happy with my little cockpit setup I might start looking into other games. I'm looking at Lunar Flight now, and maybe even proper flight sims later down the road. For now the KSP addiction keeps me busy though. Thanks again for your input.

Definitely a cutie! A bit like an atmo version of the good old Puff Puff. Looking forward to test it later on.
-
Sorry if this is considered necroposting, but I would like to know if you got the Warthog stick now and how you like it for KSP. I am seriously considering one now. I found a guy who does a left hand conversion... imagine a dual stick Warthog setup!
-
This might not be connected to your issue, but here is something to consider. Ever since 1.2 I had to fiddle with joystick settings a lot. I even had to throw out one particular stick that would give me wrong input (like twitches to full tilt etc) no matter what deadzone/sensitivity settings I tried, and the stick actually works perfectly fine as per the windows calibration thing. I should try it again on older versions of KSP. Even though I never spotted anything in the changelog, I believe there is some difference somewhere now.

I have not much to add, just that I dont advise wearing rings when working with electricity or climbing or any of that sort. My uncle ripped a finger off in a door of some cable cart, and once a friend of mine got a short through his wedding ring while he was welding, the ring glowed red hot for a second... ever since then you wont see me wearing any rings at all.

Cupcake's Dropship Dealership...
Dafni replied to Cupcake...'s topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
Interesting craft You have the Ion, so why not Atom? (or any subatomic particle... Neutron, Proton, Muon etc) But it replaces the Gnat, so Mosquito, Midge, Punkie or maybe even Tick, like Heckspress suggested?? Then again it looks like some kind of Arrowhead, but that name would fit a big craft better somehow. Either way, nice craft so far. Cheers Daf -
[WIP] [1.2.1] [2.0.4] Stock Size Real Solar System
Dafni replied to sDaZe's topic in KSP1 Mod Development
I havent changed anything that I am aware of, no. A slider would be nice and handy, but if there is one I must have missed it. Maybe hidden in the altF12 menu somewhere?- 2,401 replies

[WIP] [1.2.1] [2.0.4] Stock Size Real Solar System
Dafni replied to sDaZe's topic in KSP1 Mod Development
Still love the mod, obviously. Works a charm on 1.2.2, good performance with SVE too, its awesome. Sometimes I wish there was a bit more light around, as things can get a bit dark, but I am sure there is a setting somewhere for that, just been too busy playing for now. And that dark feeling on foreign worlds grew on me too. I love this mod for sending probes around the system.- 2,401 replies

@sDaZe or @Galileo : Is it intended that Phobos and Deimos stay inclined after one adds the "stock inclination" folder? Or is this a problem on my end. Not complaining, just asking. Thanks again for this AWESOME mod!- 2,401 replies

=Curiosity rover-AtlasV-CentaurV= A detailed replica
Dafni replied to Majorjim!'s topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
Same here. This one is too nice to not give a try. I was thinking about building a KSP install with the SSRSS mod and then flying some kerbalized historical missions to Mars with my craft, but your Curiosity is so much more detailed than mine... I might just include your craft into my space program. (not something I usually do with downloaded craft) And then for the follow up fictional manned missions I was thinking about S.Baxters "Voyage" (to Mars with Apollo hardware) And on top of all you gave me heaps of inspiration to further improve my scale builds, looking at your Saturn V etc. thanks again for sharing! Edit, before I forget: the video was AWESOME man- 17 replies
