Unfortunately I could not fix the clouds this way. I tried all kinds of things over the last 2 days, and that flickering static noise in the clouds was always there, scatterer or no scatterer, countless restarts too. Now I am afraid I will get the same on GPP too. I was sooo looking forward to that nice mod I dont dare to even try it at this point. On another note, how does one decide which resolution to pick anyway?? I have fairly decent laptop with an i7, a GTX860M and 16GB or RAM. What would be a wise choice for SVE?? By browsing my Laptop specs I realized it says DirectX11.... I have no idea what that is, but I remember @Nhawks17 asking for something like this. Might this be a reason for the bad clouds after all? And if somebody would be kind enough to explain what it is and what it does and maybe how to get rid of it?? Thanks all for your time and help, and sorry for the newbie Qs. And sorry for the misinformation to @Nhawks17 too. I assumed you were talking about 3rd party programs -

Look for the Stock Bugfix Mod for 1.1.3. It has a "force undock" option, created to deal with this exact bug. -
That is just sad. How can you spend twentysomething years on this planet, in the vicinity of radios and TV, and not feel the unbelievable drive and smooth power of Sultans of Swing even just once??? I mean, even if you dont recognize the name, everybody I know would at least say yeah right, I heard that one, its nice indeed.

Thank you for highlighting my point. Even though they did all these optimizations I only started to see the stutter in stock 1.2. My modded 1.0.5 and 1.1.3 did not have this annoying stutter at all. But it's true that they kept on introducing new features and whatnot, I'm just wondering if these additional workloads outweigh the optimization gains in such a dramatic way. -
Congratulations! But wait, I have the exact same specs here, only difference my GTX is a 860M, and Scatterer can definitely give me a yellow timer a lot of the times. What might explain this difference? Do you have any idea? Thanks

Good question. I hope they will try to fix this. It is very annoying, up to the point where it kills all the immersion and makes me switch off the game. BTW, I only started to notice this in 1.2... and after all the talk of game optimization this is a big disappointment. -

Oh really?? Is this true?? Even for stock installs?? Even for 1.2.1?? Even after all this talk of leak fixing and code clean up etc??? I rarely get the chance to play more than 1hr in one single session these days, but I was starting to suspect something like this must still go on. Will this ever get fixed then??

I only tried the low and med resolutions of SVE on 1.2.1 so far. And I believe on the low res its even slightly worse. Sometimes its fine for minutes on end, and then when I move the camera suddenly it starts and wont go away. Scene changes might fix it for a few moments again. I also noticed when I disable the ocean shaders in scatterer the ocean texture dissapears completely. And if I install Scatterer alone (download from scatterer OP here on the forum) this does not happen (ocean shader disabled = stock ocean texture). Might be related, who knows. Thank you for your help! Hmm, too bad. But thanks for your time, I appreciate you trying to help. I dont know. How could I tell?? Anything else works as always. Even the clouds work perfectly when I get them from EVE directly. -

Negative. Tried a clean new install with just SVE. Did that even before I came here. For what its worth, SVE always worked nicely for me on all 1.1.3 installs. I havent tried it on 1.2.0, and now on 1.2.1 it gives me this. Maybe something in KSPs graphic settings that changed? I started with default settings in 1.2 and tweaked them since (screen resolution etc) Generally I dont use many mods, just Editor Extensions and SVE or EVE/Scatterer. I'll just go with EVE and Scatterer in the meantime, and play around with this on another install. Would be nice to be able to fix it. If you get any idea please let me know. No, just the SVE bundle. From OP here, and tried the CKAN bundle too. Same results. Next time I have the chance I try without scatterer at all. Edit: @Galileo the problem persists even without scatterer. It looks like this: When I download EVE alone, the clouds look fine, btw. Thanks for your help! -

Any idea what might cause the clouds to flicker? Looks like static noise in the clouds from certain angles. Hard to take pics. No other mods present. KSP 1.2.1 and SVE low or med res, Scatterer without ocean shaders. -

Nice shot indeed. Something to consider: the nicest Jool shots I actually get from Jupiter and its moons from the Stock Scale Real Solar System mod. Its awesome.
