WIP - Environmental Visual Enhancements Development
dudefinal replied to rbray89's topic in KSP1 Mod Development
Works like a dream for me... though I do not use the terrain or the atmosphere. The terrain looks to patterened and the atmosphere is way to thick for my taste. I use it with scatterer. -
Wow 33/33 its currrently a tie.

No Agonarch's Haylee Kerman (http://m.youtube.com/#/watch?v=Si67uQ5ssvQ) x Jebediah Kerman... assuming Haylee doesn't get killed in the war.

I got interested in KSP after getting Simple Rockets on my Iphone. I wached many YouTubers play it and finally decided I wanted it for my birthday. Shortly before my birthday I was talking to one of my friends on steam about how I wanted this game. He said that he had bought two copies of the game for a contest I think and he said that I could have the extra copy as an early birthday present. I was humble and said that he didn't have to but he insisted. He gave a copy of the game and now it is my favorite game ever! I think the version was 0.21 or 0.19.

What about a crude dyson shere around kerbin made from many sattelited that acts as a multi-use shield. -
How would I go about changing the sunglare in the proland/atmo folder? I want to replace it with something like this: https://s3.amazonaws.com/vibrantshot.bonus/Starburst_3.png https://s3.amazonaws.com/vibrantshot.bonus/Starburst_2.png http://mrdoob.github.io/three.js/examples/textures/lensflare/lensflare0.png http://static-1.nexusmods.com/15/mods/130/images/55545-4-1397361961.jpg ...

WIP - Environmental Visual Enhancements Development

On x64 for some reason scatterer doesn't disable the atmosphere so how do I remove the atmosphere outright. (Without removing the clouds.) EDIT: Never mind I figured it out -
[WIP][1.0.5]* RSS Visual Enhancements (RVE)
dudefinal replied to pingopete's topic in KSP1 Mod Development
I'm on version 1.0.4 of KSP and on version 0.2.2 of RVE so on the newest version of everything . I'm starting my experimentation right now. Will report any bugs I have. Thick Atmosphere: I think this is caused by EVE but I'm not sure. I observed this on Scatterer with WIP-EVE and removing the atmosphere removed the abnormally thick atmosphere. Okay nvm nothing works in x64 I just installed it and had an entirely different set of bugs the earth is transparent in map view, theres a giant blue plane in map view, half the earth is grey in LKO.... x64 is really not the way to go . I'm guessing that its all caused by RSS. -

Cannot wait to install this with scatterer later today. Will report back any bugs. -
Today I am going to see if not Alt-Tabbing ever and disabling Post-Proccessing will squash, well more like cover up, all my bugs. Also I will try out that amazing config tool when its up! Keep doing what you do blackrack! This is amazing work! Edit: Oh and how about a button on the toolbar mod for the config. Black Sky Bug Fixed: Simply do not ever alt-tab . Flashing Ocean Bug Fixed: You have to turn off post processing which makes everything not as pretty so I'm going to cope with the flashing for now.

[WIP][1.0.5]* RSS Visual Enhancements (RVE)
dudefinal replied to pingopete's topic in KSP1 Mod Development
I am on Windows x64. Sorry about that I probably should have done some reading on here before posting. Apparantly RVE does not behave well on this platform according to some of the posts on here. And btw that thinner atmosphere looks superb! Cannot wait till the next update. Gonna install it via the instructions word to word this time and I will experiment a little if that does not work and if all else fails I'll revert to x86 because this just looks so dang beautiful. I am using version 0.2.2 and the windows-master branch for KSP 1.0.4. Pretty much a perfect storm for bugs XD. -
Either I'm doing something wrong or this does not work on x64. Please be that im doing something wrong. On x86 though I am experiencing the same bugs that Avera9eJoe mentioned above. Also your link isn't working.

Missions to Avert Planetary Apocalypse
dudefinal replied to dudefinal's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
XD It doesn't have to be mission it would be kinda like a wake up call for people who are too scared to go past Minmus like myself. -
[WIP][1.0.5]* RSS Visual Enhancements (RVE)
dudefinal replied to pingopete's topic in KSP1 Mod Development
I can't wait until this is fully finished for KSP 1.0 it looks so beautiful in the mockup! Also does this mod work for KSP x64? If it does not currently work on x64 then I hope that it does when it's finished. Also where do I get the beautiful sun flare asset file from the mockup video. Edit: I finally got it working on x64... somewhat. I have come across a few bugs such as the atmospehere being WAY to thick, the entire planet is either fully illuminated or not illuminated at all depending upon which side you are looking at, the transition from fully illuminated to not illuminated at all is extremely sudden, the mountains look glazed, and the edes of the planet, when fully illuminated, has many small black blotches. These are only the bugs I noticed I may post pics tomorrow. I will also experiment more on how I install this tommorow. -
This mod is amazing when put alongside GEMFX it looks beautiful beyond imagination. I personally do not enjoy using this with clouds. Does anyone know any cloud mods that is jut a flat layer of high-res clouds or clouds that only come/fade into view after you pass a certain distance from the surface. I have noticed one bug though. When I start the game up such as loading a save, reverting to launch, or going to the launch pad or runway there is no atmosphere and the sky is all black. This bug is easily fixable by zooming way out until the atmosphere suddenly appears permanently until you go back to the space center but it is very annoying. Also I am running this on KSP x64. Another thing to mention the github link for the config is not working. Edit: I have also been experiencing the flashing bug that alot of other people seem to be having.

I personally think it would be really cool if there was a mission or maybe just a set point in time that triggers a mission in which you use spacecraft to avert planetary apocalypse. Apocalypses could include asteroid collisions, the decay of a moons orbit, an incoming comet, a gamma ray burst, a solar flare... I could go on and on. This would also add the ability to deliberately destroy planets on purpose. I think that this would be a really cool feature.
