  3. @PLAD Using just RO, I am not certain it is possible with chemical rockets considering how small the payload to fuel margin is. Maybe from a point of high elevation and a very light weight probe it could be done, maybe? You would need ~13,500m/s velocity to achieve orbit, (too late for math so just an educated guess) that would be in the ball park of 17,000m/s of dV required from launch. With a TWR to push against 1.8G's, which would rule out high efficiency/ low thrust, light weight engines for the most part. It would have to be a multi-vessel journey and the hard part would be getting the relaunch stage successfully through re-entry, which isn't that easy as not much depth to the atmosphere before going dense, maybe requiring a retro burn during entry. I have entered and landed safely on Tellumo in testing, but haven't attempted getting back into orbit from there, yet. I think of Tellumo as more a "Hotel California" planet for Gaelean (Kerbal) retirement. If you give it a shot, be sure to let everyone here know how it goes! Good Luck!   8. I had this very thing as well, they are not only not working, they do not physically exist. I haven't checked the KK thread though to see if there is a fix.

  10. Just a side not at this point; but all you need to do in Steam is to right click KSP, go to properties, betas, and roll back to whatever version you want back to 1.05. I just want to give a huge thank you to everyone that helped support @Galileo in getting his new hawtness GFX card! Seriously, you all are awesome!

  13. So I am thinking someone should make a companion mod that replaces Jeb, Bob, Bill, and Val with Galileo, OhioBob, Poodmund, and JadeofMaar and "Kerbal" with "Gaelian". :-P
  14. That is most likely the issue; you have an old version of Module Manager, you need version 2.7.6 or newer. This version is packed into the GPP download. Give that a shot. EDIT: You can also go up a few lines and see where i posted my stream highlight of the install process ;-)

  17. @Shadowmage Seriously, epic mod! The tweakable parts design is ingenious, I think Squad would be wise to take notice! As many mods as I use regularly, I am surprised I have not run across this gem before now. @Akira_R Thank you for the .cfg for SMURFF! All I needed to do was lower the thrust multiplier a bit and it and it nails realish values for my 10.6X GPP career.

Also, Kopernicus is version locked to KSP, so you want the latest version as the earlier ones will not work.
  19. Lots of awesome shuttles in here! Well done! Anyone that watches my stream will know I prefer SSTO's, but I made a shuttle just for this! (It's even stock:-P) It'll put 6 Kerbals in a 150km orbit and has ~3500m/s dV once there to go quite a ways and return.
  20. @Tuko Seconded, installing more than 1 LS system will mess everything up since each is installing new resources into the game. And Kerbalism isn't just a LS mod, it's an overhaul, so if you remove it for USI LS, there is a good chance it will break your save as well.
  21. From what I know of SCRAMjets, the limits you are hitting are right inline with IRL limitations, even facing the same brick wall; drag and heat. If materials are able to withstand the heat, the design optimized for drag and riding the perfect pressure curve, the theoretical limit of a SCRAmjet is about mach 15 (~4400m/s) at an altitude of 75km. There simply isn't enough oxygen and air pressure above that altitude for combustion, regardless of speed. Thus far, the record is mach 9.6 (3,268m/s) at 29km altitude set by the X-41. As for real scale SSTO options, rockets based on methalox if using Real Fuels is a viable option.
