These "leaps of logical" aren't really leaps of logic. Here are my responses to those: - We are interested in the development and progress of animals in the wild for scientific purposes, why is that hard to believe in this situation? - The SETI program is the equivalent of trying to pick up a television broadcast with an old radio - This is based on our current understanding. God knows that doesn't change as we advance, right? - Seemingly random to us. When we're tagging or observing openly animals and fish for example, that would seem random to them as well. - If you were a government would you want your citizens knowing that there are things of such magnitude out of their control? Also some governments are fairly open about this topic. - Again, why do we need to understand the reason? They're a completely different species from a completely different planet. And I again refer you to the idea of a deer not understanding why it was abducted by a human and then set free (the human was a scientist doing research, but the deer didn't understand that) - This one is pretty out there. What arrogance to believe that it doesn't exist because we don't understand it. "Sufficient technology is indistinguishable from magic." - Human mind is fallible - Uh, yeah. But why do people feel the need to immediate discredit others for a sighting? There are some amazingly credible witnesses. Police officers, pilots, astronauts, military. Why is there not curiosity about this subject? If you want to put it to rest, find proof (proper proof) for each sighting. You cannot just say every person who sees a UFO is not credible. Absolutely it doesn't mean it's an alien UFO. Most sightings are obviously just mistaken identity. Why are you simply assuming that they are defying the laws of nature, and that they have a reason to hide themselves? Yes, but you also need to properly consider each possibility. Just saying "well this is more likely" doesn't cut it.

I don't really see why so many people find the idea of ET UFO sightings (like the credible ones that have been thoroughly investigated and scrutinized) to be so unlikely. It's worse when it becomes the standard to just assume someone is wrong when they talk about a UFO encounter, or UFOs in general. The idea that there are ETs with crafts that can do the things reported in sightings should make "logical/scientific people" more curious about the topic. Especially the idea that they may have gotten here with FTL/warp travel. If anyone is willing, I'd enjoy hearing someone's reasons behind thoroughly discarding UFO sightings as ET or man-made with technological advancements that we don't know about. It's best to be extremely skeptical, but I see no point in being skeptical to the point of believing the most simple explanations, if they don't actually work. Yeah, it's obviously pretty rare to get one. I really like this image from the Belgian sightings (saw a documentary about it, this was confirmed to be free of edits by multiple professionals):

The Name Change Thread (WARNING! ONE TIME ONLY!)
Pingonaut replied to Souper's topic in Kerbal Network
Thanks. I have no interest in changing my name now or ever. I use this username for most things. The lowercase letter bothered me, though. -

I just want the "P" in my username to be a capital letter. -
Can we get some advanced post editing tools?
Pingonaut replied to Pingonaut's topic in Kerbal Network
Yup, that was it. Wow, I can't believe I've gone this long with it this way. Was this the default setting in 2011-2012 or something? -

This is the main page. Would it have something to do with Chrome? I find it hard to believe both of my computers over the years somehow had been set to mobile mode by default, even from the first time I made an account. -

No. Laptop with Chrome. As I said, 2 different computers. I didn't even know that those options should have been there, as I've never seen them before. -

Like I said, it's not in either. It never has been for me, over 2 (or maybe 3?) different computers. -

Wait, what? Neither quick reply nor advanced reply have those options for me. Mine looks like this, what's up? -
Obviously you can bold, italics, create urls, etc. your text on the forum by typing it out, but I'd really like to see buttons for this stuff. It's a simple suggestion, but I'm guessing it'd take a little bit of working to do. How likely is this to happen? Edit: Okay, well apparently my forum layout isn't the same. Mine looks like below. It's been that way since I joined the forums 3 years ago, on 2 different computers over the years. What's going Edit 2: Got it fixed, thanks for the help everyone. I came here hoping for the forum to get an update and found out it already existed. That's great!

The icon on the stock toolbar doesn't work for me. It's in the folder, I checked. Anyone know why?

Tried it. Also added RCS to stop it. Still flipped. Aerodynamic forces too powerful because the weight is imbalanced. I also tried limiting my thrust greatly. No success. Tried it. Didn't help at all. I'm playing in an alternate career mode. Different tech tree, so that is the only non-solid fuel rocket I have at the moment. - Those RCS tanks are actually for the small RCS thrusters on the bottom of the payload, to get it away from the previous stage. - I know I should use a service bay, but the design of the payload is really preferable aesthetically, so I decided against it. - There are batteries on the other side of the payload - This isn't actually going to space. I'm trying to play very progressively, espcially using this tech tree, so it was really just intended to get as high up as possible - LV-909 not unlocked yet - I've been keeping my thrust limited to around 60%, I'll try 20%. Thanks! I appreciate the suggestions, everyone. I may use fairings, but I can't really make the design more aerodynamic because aesthetically it's where I want it (and unfortunately that's more important to me). I'll take a try at some of these suggestions when I play again.

I'm playing career mode and I'm not starting out doing manned missions. This mission was meant to just get up into or escape the higher atmosphere to send back data. However, it flips because the payload is so light compared to the middle stage. I can't really do anything to add weight, and I've winglet. I don't know what to do, is this just not a viable launcher? I really like the payload design. =( (Also, I'm not doing any gravity turns. SAS is off.)

I'm sorry if my post was misunderstood, I was not saying it wasn't TextureReplacer. I was simply stating that it's a bug that could originate from either, or the combination of both. So it should be looked into to check which one it was, and what was causing it. It probably is TR, but it's always good to show how someones' mod interacts with others' mods.

Hi Proot. Just wanted to stop in and say I'm enjoying the pack so far. I installed it today, and it seems to be working just fine, except for the sun flare. Adding this seems to delete some textures from the game, like the loading texture when loading the game, a save, etc. I've got a bit of feedback for when you release a new version, in case it's useful: - I've also used Astronomer's pack, and really liked the way he did the installation process. There are a few things in the KSPRC pack that I didn't want to use, and in order to keep them from being added I had to go through the files and look for them individually. Perhaps next time allow more customization when installing. I'd prefer a step process like Astronomer's: Steps going from most to least important, and indicating what piece is. - One slightly more important thing would be that your pack includes to plugin files of the mod it uses. This means that when I have the most recent version of a mod, say EVE, installed, simply dragging and dropping the folders into my GameData folder will revert it back to the version in which the pack was released. In the future, I'd like to see only the changed files being included. That way installing the pack won't change the mod's version. It's just personal opinion, of course. I figured it'd be useful to post any feedback I had though. Keep up the good work, and take your time! Don't feel pressured to release it before you're ready to do so.

[1.1.2][1-1-2] May 13-2016 EnvironmentalVisualEnhancements
Pingonaut replied to rbray89's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Because of how it works, it hasn't needed an update since 0.24. The mod author is still adding stuff to the mod, though. He's said on reddit he's gonna try and add a Scatterer-type thing to it. -
[0.25] Astronomer's Visual Pack - Interstellar V2
Pingonaut replied to Astronomer's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
The way I see it it's incompatible. Partially compatible if you're willing to go through some stress.
