  1. Solution, use 9 engines on the upper stage and one on the lower stage.
  2. Even the fact that we are considering rocket travel as a slight possibility rather than a fantasy speaks volumes about the technological progression we have had in the spaceflight industry in the recent years.
  3. Or even lighter worlds. However, the lighter the world, the less we would have a need to be there long enough to launch stuff into orbit around it. Like on Phobos, for example, you could probably literally throw a small satellite into orbit, but when are you going to need to do that?
  4. The thing is, the 1km/s bomus in weight reduction is probably offset by the fact that you now have to beef up your rocket to handle the gee loads
  5. True. To add to the above, there is a growing number of corporations that know more about me than I do... I would totally try a robotic itv if I had the time before vacation...
  6. I think I will take the link out but at this point I am not concerned about anyo w trying to find out who I am on the internet because it's almost trivially easy at this point.
  7. Yeah... I might not get that done tonight, and tomorrow is the last day to pack for my vacation, and I probably won't have time then, so I know I said I would try to do them soon, it may be a bit. I need to get back to @Kerbolitto on something related to my break... If I have time later tonight (and it will probably be late) I will probably design STS-14 (Or is it 15? I forget) by myself so I can go 13-14-15-16 right in a row. Unless someone designs that one before I get back from my concert tonight.
  8. Thank you, that is one of the best compliments I have ever recieved! But, anything? Even stuff from what was probably (checks date) wow, fourth or fifth grade? Link Removed because of my name. Not that I care too much, just being safe. "I want to fly it three staged before the year is out" Sorry to disappoint you buddy, you're still waiting for the proper weather... Anyway, I took Kronal Vessel Viewer screenshots of most of the important stuff and I have began making vehicle comparisons. Here is the one for the Copernicus family:
  9. So I realize that pretty much nobody reads this any more, but I feel the need to keep a record of this save. I'm way behind on recording stuff, so a lot of it I'll skip over, or only one screenshot if it's a minor mission. Chapter 13 - BIG Oops.
  10. The bottom plume is a water cooling system, the green is the ignition system, and the engine exhaust is clear because it's hydrolox, according to a longer Instagram post.
  11. People on the NSF forum are now saying that it is a thin protective covering, probably akin to that plastic wrap covering new sheets of glass.
  12. So, in the Bob/Sily save, I have a series of spaceships that I name. (I'm not sure if I'm going to continue the mission report but I'm continuing the save.) One of them is S-03 "Jeffree." It has launched on several refueling missions, and has had a successful run as a spaceship, being the oldest one still in service, unless you count a wreck that was converted into part of a base.

I launched a manned Duna mission, but it's running out of fuel, so I thought I'd send a refueler on a potentially one way mission so that the crew could get home. I chose Jeffree, as it was my only refueler in service (I later built another one to refuel Jeffree).

Then, a sad music box version of Payphone came on. I don't know how many of you remember, but a long time ago, HOC Gaming made a parody of Payphone called Space Probe, about a stranded space probe. Despite it having been several years, I know at least the verse by heart and I thought of that song while about to send Jeffree into the great unknown.

Jeffree is one of my friend's nicknames for me, and I had previously named a model rocket Jeffree, but it got stuck in a tree on its second flight and has probably disintegrated in the rain since then.

So, I may be about to lose a second Jeffree... And I'm sad now.

I will get Jeffree back to Kerbin at all costs. I promise, Jeffree.

  13. I heard that it massive gas deposits suddenly releasing, creating lots of tiny bubbles, drastically lowering the density of the water, causing ships to sink.
  14. Yes, I plan to do that every few launches! I would have updated it for the most recent one, but I didn't have any good pictures of it.
  15. It's been there for a while, I think I encountered it in either 1.3.1 or 1.4.5 and saw it in a KSP YouTube video from many versions before... It's cool to find and explore. I did several tests on it (flag planting teleportation, length measurement, etc.) and it was pretty interesting! Just don't (or do, but save!) fall in! Also, the sun is a deadly lazer
  16. That means a backup, like backup chutes would be fine (twice as many as needed) so that if one fails, the other can take over. So it looks like we have STS 13, 15, and 16 (three separate proposals, one pending! Probably will launch one as the main and elements of at least one as a backup), so STS-14 is the last one needed to be designed to complete phase two! I will launch those soon, but I am leaving for vacation on the 22nd, so the first launches of phase 3 will have to wait until I get back on the 7th. You can still submit in that timeframe for when I get back, though!
  17. Interstar sounds like an alright name! And thank you for your kind words, I hope you continue to enjoy it!
  18. Multipurpose, but primarily research and figuring out how to live in space for long term, like the ISS, but will have refueling and additional capabilities. The station's purpose is going to branch out a lot in phase 4, assuming we get there.
  19. STS 11 and 12 are now just STS 12, and I have renamed about half of the STS 10as to 11s. But I have not officially names the actual station yet.
  20. If you want to do another module regardless, you can! There's no limit for the number of modules anyone can submit.
  21. Hundreds of Planets. All sizes, all kinds. Eighty Eight Species. One on the ultimate mission, the others standing in the way. One chance. One chance to stop them. If even one. Chapter 23 - The Heart of Jool
