Sorry, I don't know what time; I only said that because of a caption on an Instagram post, which mentioned that he would probably do a Reddit AMA over the weekends. I might finally create a Reddit account to ask questions.

totm june 2018 Work-in-Progress [WIP] Design Thread
Skylon replied to GusTurbo's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
Welcome to the forums! I suggest moving the thruster out and up, and hiding the top with another part. The link above shows someone who made one in stock, though it was a long time ago. Not sure how to do the heat shields, but I look forward to seeing to the finished version! -
He also said he was going to do a Reddit AMA at the weekend

Very cool! I like the pictures in the VAB/hangar, they are very well composed. Keep it up, I'm looking forward to it!

Please ignore, the problem was not caused by VSR -
So...when falcon heavy flies...will more people want to launch on it? Looking at the schedule on Wikipedia...only three launches (although one is going to the Moon)

Not sure what you mean, but I was drawing/tracing from this picture: https://i.imgur.com/WtlxoBO.png

Yeah, people recognising me was one of the reasons i want to change it sooner rather than later, while I'm not very well known
-
I was thinking of changing my name, but I don't really know what to change it to. Having the name of a real-life/in development spacecraft seems a bit wrong. Feel free to move if this is considered off-topic.

But...I...I'm not science fiction...just need a bigger budget... Back on topic, I'd agree with what's already been said. I guess that the weight is too much compared to the negligible aerodynamics improvements. And of course there's the cooling problems and such. Adeline was going to do this, but that's because it had to re-enter and land. Edit: Huh, just noticed my rep is now 503...halfway there.

For Questions That Don't Merit Their Own Thread
Skylon replied to Skyler4856's topic in Science & Spaceflight
I think he means through the vacuum; the vibrations probably passed through the apollo 13 spacecraft, not the vacuum -
It's in the log thread on discord

I don't think it was the generations of rockets being a problem... its more the rate of launching. At the moment there's no need for payloads over 3t. We just need more people wanting to launch satellites. And a video has already been posted of the first launch

Still love the writing

I missed it (was during school here, half an hour too late for lunch)
-
Edit: Ignore the below, I hadn't read your most recent post. Brilliant as always, by the way If you are in need of a mass driver, there's always this mod If you don't like the modelling or texturing you could always cover it up with panels

My Gulfstream G-IV that I've been working on
Skylon replied to ludan02's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
That's a nice looking replica! I like the way you mounted the wings and overall it is just very pretty In case you're wondering, the Airplane Plus Mod (1.3 compatible) has airstairs and lots of other very well made parts, all of which are (as far as I remember) tweakscale compatible through a patch. It also includes lots of fun and useful things like dedicated leading and trailing-edge flaps. As well as this, lots of people use it and this means that more people will be able to download your craft.- 2 replies

Narrowly missed my channel tunnel crossing, now have to wait 5-6 hours until the next one

(Sorry if this was mentioned before) Just noticed one of Elon's posts on his Instagram, showing a picture of the SpaceX Spacesuit: Similar to the one shown in the Dragon V2 animation. Looks like it has a relatively large visor
-
This is still great to read

At 5:26 I noticed a moving smaller nozzle pictured on 1 and 2. Did/does the Merlin Vac have a vernier nozzle for roll control? And I didn't realise that CRS-8 landed on a barge
-
Landed!!! Perfect!

Did I just hear 'clear video all the way down'? From spacex? Unheard of!
