Concern about procedural things and other 'QOL' improvements
snkiz replied to snkiz's topic in Prelaunch KSP2 Discussion
Out of your entire bock of text, I quoted one sentence, addressed it, left a huge gap. Then started talking about something you never said. The post directly above mine would have given you context. Look this has nothing to do with the topic. -

They are now, But they forgot about us for a couple days while they had their new toy. I think this whole thread is a result of the 'oh shiny' syndrome that happened. -
What will be your go to Paint scheme?
snkiz replied to Snafu225's topic in Prelaunch KSP2 Discussion
Meh I'm probably going to pick colours by part function more than anything else. I'm happy to continue to use my tramp stamp of a flag on my craft. -
So you wanted another DLC for ksp1? You just layed out the original scope for KSP2. You do understand there is only so much that could be done with KSP1 given it's age and layers of code. Everything you wanted is available here on the forum. In the future it's going to be the same. The game will be a good foundation approachable to everyone. Modders, will fill in the fine details. That's the plan. Are you also aware that a good part of the dev team started here? They know how hard it is to mod, they are on the inside now. They are going to fix that. And the UI? it's inspired by Real world avionics. I just wish they'd bump the contrast on the dials. Can't see anything on the screenshots. That's one of those things that should not need to be a mod.

AS we've discussed there is no evidence that the areo is going to care that much, your still thinking of FAR. I just don't think that's going to happen. And Again I'm not talking about UI/UX, or how they attach. It isn't a question limits. Or tec progression at least for wings, they are 1 stop on the tec tree. None of the RO arguments matter, they certainly won't be doing that. RO is going to be a mod full stop. when it's gets here I bet it will be better than ever. I don't want to play RO, or I would already. If I wanted procedural everything, I'd use simple rockets, might as well let the computer fly it. I'm trying to discuss how these things are going to effect the stock experience. The stock experience, until now has been 'Found by the side of the road' parts. I like the wings ok. But I don't see these fitting that vibe. -

I mean not gonna have a choice about soon enough. That was why I did it. I don't know I mean I like them, but random bits of 'cardboard' felt kebal to me. These not so much, to clean. What I was, and am worried about is if/how they are going to make a system like this fit the 'found by the side of the road' vibe. It could be that just isn't a priority any more, they did say this is all about exploration. Hence the no robot parts, and props. You don't need wings in space, so are they going to be treated as a afterthought as far as gameplay and lore are concerned? Is it going to be we need these, but we don't want to fuss with them? I don't know I feel like I conquered wing puzzles. I accomplished that. There's no puzzle with these. I really doubt the aero model is going to care much what shape your wings are in KSP2, just so long as you have enough. -

You know what, thank you! You are the first one in the thread to acknowledge them and compliment me. I appreciate that. I don't share my stuff that often, it doesn't really get noticed much. -

They're made in 6? pieces i don't remember. I basically tessellated them. The core is a structural part, the two inside pieces are split so I could trim out the craft. No, I didn't really. I mean I spent a bit of time messing with the sliders. But it really didn't take much effort. I'm used to the shape puzzles wings usually are. Add to that I try to line up textures and seams when I can. this, was next to effortless. It would have been completely effortless if that wasn't my first try. -

I'm sorry I didn't read it that way, and it wasn't my intent. Come to think of it usually I only use quote to get someone's attention or bring up a point. I don't actually know how to nest quote I don't do this conversational quoting, I was following you. -

I'd argue that it does, And you quoted the reason for it. Go look at reddit and see how many people rip wings off with stock areo and difficulty. -

Forgetting letters, consistent spelling mistakes, skipping whole words and modifiers. That's me. Took years to figure out why it only got worse with practice. Newbies pulling 30 g's like it was nothing would disagree with you. Just because I know I can abuse the physics. doesn't mean I'm going to. Personally I try to avoid it. -

OK I'll grant you that, but do you really believe, it's going to be FAR level? or something a little more forgiving, like everything else in the game. -

No we don't have any real info on the areo. I making my judgement based on the language they've used so far. I hope it's better, But I don't believe they are targeting that level. ya dyslexia is not fun on the internet. -

I think they both look good. The Pwing one is downright sexy. The regular one, it's like batman created in the starwars universe. It has it's own cham imo. -

No I said it wouldn't have FAR like accuracy, or Replica parts. The game is inspired by the real world, it doesn't mimic it. That was made clear ages ago. -

is not a part of stock kerbal, and won't be in the sequel. so what's your point? -

snkiz replied to snkiz's topic in Prelaunch KSP2 Discussion
I've used FAR I know how it works, I know these wouldn't work in any regime than they were designed for, in betwwen the buildings on the streets of gotham. Like I said I like the balance where it is. FAR is fine if you playing Real scale. My issue with ssto's and FAR is it doesn't matter, they get out of the soup to fast. I love it, if in the new version, they took some far goodness and properly scaled it. But while the game is balanced the way it is, I'll just enjoy the fact that my sifi creations will get there. It would seem that all the counterpoints to me are based on realism. kerbal isn't real, the dev's aren't trying to make it real, and I have accepted that. I choose to work with what the game has. I've been down that treadmill before. -

I don't know how anyone got the Idea I was against any of this. I clearly laid out how it could be accomplished with some procedural, and mostly existing tools. Kerbal tools. -

snkiz replied to snkiz's topic in Prelaunch KSP2 Discussion
Actually no, I'm very good a wing design for kerbal. You can't see it on that craft but That wing is not flat. They both fly well with no SAS. I don't use FAR. Because when I'm not making movie planes, my SSTO's are to slipery for FAR. Again earth atmo on Kerbin is to easy. I like the game balance more or less where it is. I'm not commenting on how to attach wings, that's jank and I'm aware. I'm talking about the spirit of working with what you have. Even with mods I often restrict myself for some reason or other, this one was runway project rules. -
Mod platform
snkiz replied to Kalessin1's topic in Prelaunch KSP2 Suggestions & Development Discussion
No it doesn't. This pretty much sums up why I don't use ckan. This issue is 6 years old.
