Take Two was absolutely right to pull the plug from this project

The issue is that you seem to be making the assumption that they pulled the rug on this project specifically because of their performance. Take Two went and pulled the rug on all of PD all at once. There isn't any information that IG was specifically targeted for any reason. From what the information we do have though, it appears as they they were simply caught up in it and likely would have been impacted even if the game was already at 1.0. After all if even Roll7 wasn't safe, despite actually releasing multiple projects,  what hope would IG have had?

As I was saying, some people really like to assume things, and assume their assumptions are right. This forum still hosts the community of a whole another game, for example, and they're just as free to roam around threads and make their opinions know. Now, that some people would prey on others to sell their snake oil and divinations of some magical event allowing KSP2 to continue, and I'm sure as hell would laud a rushed 1.0 as the proof of them being right, is really funny to watch.

Hopefully we'll get concrete news tomorrow, which is personally why I still bother with this side of the forum... that and the people spreading borderline misinformation based on nothing but wishful thinking.

Funny how you are worried about "borderline misinformation" (whatever that is supposed to mean? Just information I guess?) when your post contains actual misinformation that it would require "magic" for KSP2 to continue.

I find it funnier that the people who do that aren't moving on themselves

Also I don't recall anyone around here saying anything like "You guys need to stay, the game isn't dead!"

Everyone else is pretty much just like "Ya it might be dead, it might not be dead, no one knows based on the current information. Do what you want with that information.  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ "

So... basically your assumptions are valid, anyone else who disagrees with you is wrong. Got it. Also they're shouting because you're clearly the only calm person.

The  strange thing is I keep seeing people telling other people to "move on" every time they say it is dead. Like what business it is of theirs if that person they are talking to "moves on" or not? Much less why would they care in the first place if they do?

Imagine someone walking into the local sports bar of your cities favorite team and getting up on the table and telling everyone to "move on" from the game being broadcast on TV because the team looks like they are going to lose. A funny sight to behold for sure, but strange all the same.

I can't imagine professionals in a given field just, sitting around even during their final months in their given role. So, I'd like to think at an absolute minimum, the developers are still well, developing until their roles officially end.

This was more so referring to if they all got locked out of the office (not literally, but you know what I mean) so they couldn't do anything further.

If your posts about a determined subject are systematically removed even by not breaking any rules/laws, then we have censorship

Agreed. Since that didn't happen, why did you bring it up?

I have one question for everyone here, "where is nate?" He has not been communicating with us for days and was last online on April 26th.  I would like to know why the people working on this cant come out and just say they lost their jobs, (I know some did, but what about Nate?). My point is that it seems disappointing that we were scammed not by Intercept Games, but by Take Two and Private Division as a whole. Intercept Games never did anything to us. They just made the game. Take Two and PD are the reason behind this.

There is alot of potential reasons, but it basically boils down to this:

No one wants to stick their foot in their mouth.

On a slightly optimistic note... (and I'm going to preface this by stating upfront that if development of KSP2 does by some miracle continue, albeit at a slower pace, I'll be here - I'll be as patient as necessary) KSP isn't the completely unique game it once was. Juno does exist now. I haven't played it myself (because, y'know, lil green dudes) but I've watched reviews by the likes of Scott Manley and it looks promising. It's not KSP, but it doesn't look a million miles away either, it's cheap and it sounds like it's progressing well? So all isn't lost.

If herds of disconsolate KSP players are indeed left roaming the internet in search of a new home, it's hard to imagine that a mod won't appear at some point turning the astronauts green and producing a star system uncannily like Kerbol...

The main issue is that Juno lack any sort of soul and (from my understanding) any sort of game play progression, which makes it quite bland from a "game" perspective.

Although they could change that, and all the power to them to do so if they want to.

  9. From what I have seen in the past for other games as long as you own the secondary game, and the back porting process requires copying such things over from that installation, then it is usually not something that gets a cease-and-desist letter, but there is no guarantee on that.

There's some fairly high profile people, in the space community who are players and supporters of Kerbal Space Program. So it's a potential hornets nest for sure, given that none of these people are affiliated with, or work in the games industry but do command a sizeable audience, on Twitter.

This is really my only hope is that someone with some power gets ornery over this and sparks some "internal discussions".

I'm not sure what you mean, the post is still up on Twitter:

Cause this can be interpreted any number of ways:

    1) Hard at work until June and that’s it.

    2) Hard at work doing absolutely nothing.

    3) Eventually hard at work with a completely new dev team.

    4) Hard at work with a reduced existing dev team

    5) Hard at work figuring out who to sell the IP to.

    6) Hard at work merging all branches together and slapping a 1.0 on it

    and so on

Isn't Take Two going to have a public meeting with shareholders or investors or something soonish? Maybe we'll hear more about this "officially" by then. (Officially, meaning through the project lead's mouth, that is.)

Yes, although unlikely anything specific to KSP2 that would mean much unless someone specifically asks for details.

I was collectively silenced by mobs of people exclaiming that KSP2 was superior without being able to dive into the merits supposedly in play

People disagreeing with you is a part of a discussion forum, not censorship. This place isn’t for people to use as their personal soapbox and expect everyone to just silently nod their heads at.

IG did not occupy the entire building. There are multiple companies leasing space there not just IG.

Supposedly 5 floors are being rented by PD (therefore Take Two). Since the WARN notice says Take Two you can’t make any conclusions  based on that information alone. Need to wait for more information or leaks before being able to make any determination as to what happened to the actual staff working on the game.

All could be let go, some could be let go. IG may or may not still exist as a separate entity as well.

Pure speculation and guesswork based on nothing. Many businesses would first cut loose a tainted product with negative reviews that isn't going to recover, over an untarnished project that is "clean" and doesn't have a bad reputation. It depends on the company. Hello Games had ALL their eggs in one basket, they had to turn around No Man's Sky because that games reputation WAS their studio's reputation. The two were intrinsically linked.

Take 2 can cut and cull almost anything they want except GTA and Red Dead.

Indeed, it is pure guess work, I am not saying it isn’t. But I am also not acting like I know what is going on when I actually don’t. See the difference?

  16. You are just making an assumption that is IG. We already know there was a separate  unannounced product in development but we have zero idea who or how many people were working on it, if it was a separate team, etc.

Also PD supposedly has 5 floors worth of office space at that location. 70 people is not 5 floors worth of office space .

That unannounced project almost definitely would have been cut first over KSP2. So unless you actually know that locations internal structure and headcount, you don’t actually know anything.

  17. 8 minutes ago, PDCWolf said:

Not really... it's why so many people have moved on and they don't check again. Go look at the first threads on release, or the "what do you expect for tomorrow" before release, and then check who's still posting on these new threads, mainly right before this mess happened and sent us scrambling for info including the forums.

People move on, they stop waiting, they stop hoping. If anything, this recent fiasco showed us that a lot of people were actually in wait to pull the trigger and now those have gone too.

And? Assuming the game is still in development they are clearly banking on console sales so it matters little what happens here. Wait or don’t, your choice.

  18. 6 minutes ago, PDCWolf said:

Because patience is already as thin as it can get for many. People here right now are the most hardcore fans... but I'm sure they have a limit too, I'm trying to find that limit because so far it looks like the devs could shoot their dog and they'll still believe.

People can already be at their limit and continue waiting. This isn’t a tire being filled with air.

Edit: Or rather I should say people aren’t a tire being filled with air that are just going to explode.

Now let's say your prediction is true... are you ready for another ~year with 0 progress and for the remainder of the roadmap to be developed even slower, let alone to a possibly more rushed standard?

Why would anyone need to be “ready” for that? That’s such a strange thing to ask them.

KSP2 drops half its team, with others laid off the 2nd game Intercept is working on.

    Intercept studios close.

The remaining KSP2 team is shuffled directly under Private Divison.

With other projects getting canceled and laid off, the remaining team members from those projects and studios are placed on the KSP2 team directly under PD.

KSP2 gets delayed even further under the restructure.

    KSP2 lives… eventually

*Disclaimer, I am just speculating and making this up as I write it. This is just my prediction. Too much doom and gloom, so here’s my overly optimistic prediction. feel free to quote me and laugh at me as news develops and if my prediction is way wrong.*

Reasonable prediction given currently known facts.

Larian really did everything right with BG3. They went into EA with a solid foundation and plenty of content. They listened to the community and improved every aspect of the game before release. I truly hope they don't shift into bad guy mode after their success. We've seen it so many times with other studios.

All good things comes to and end.
