  1. I had a good crack at the unofficial Tantares wiki guide today.  Build guides are done for Sputnik, Vostok, Soyuz, Kosmos, Proton, Zenit, Energia & N1 launch vehicles.  Next up will be to finish the spacecraft and landers, and finally the space station segments.  I've left a few questions/requests for input in the issues, so if any Tantares masters fancy providing some input that would be welcome.  And do let me know if you spot any errors!

Wanted to report back for others as I have an interesting twist...

I downloaded the craft files from the github page , but I was having issues where it would not display the part count for the craft file, nor would they load even in a sandbox save.  I got an error that the file was not compatible with KSP 1.9, however opening the craft file with Notepad++ I didn't see anything that appeared wrong to me.

So instead I went to the ZIP file of the mod that Ckan downloaded for me, extracted the craft files from the zip, and used them, and viola they are working just fine.

I hope this helps someone else out if you end up having any issues with the craft files.

Gremlins.  I'll look into it when I do the next round of craft file updates.

@Beale or anyone else who knows: Is there a user guide or manual for Tantares parts? I found some old posts that said drafts existed, but I don't see anything in the Tantares Github. Maybe documentation was abandoned because it was too much work to keep updated. That's okay, I'm just wondering if it exists and I failed to find it.

It's early work in progress and not all that useful yet.  I'll start the proper build guides soon™.

Greetings, I'm playing with reactors and all that electric engines and can't find anything related to heating. Is reactor core heat is still a thing? I can't find any GUI or at least internal heat info in context menu, here is the screenshot (enabled KSP heat debug just in case):

I see you're using Kerbalism.  That disables heat.

A day in Bureaucracy is a day on your homeworld. Doesn't matter what that is - Bureaucracy reads the planets solarDayLength.

You probably want to use Kronometer though, so the display is correct too.

That's odd... if those mods are doing their job correctly then that shouldn't happen.

Bureaucracy doesn't actually interfere with the science system at all. It's all smoke and mirrors. It lets the experiment run, and the science credit, and then takes the science away before you notice. In theory the game should register the science as being properly ran.

Kronometer is built into JNSQ already.  Dropping Bureaucracy into a JNSQ install works fine with no mucking around required.  I'm really enjoying the extra...er....bureaucracy in my career game.

  6. All the mod does is set the SMA to exactly the same as a reference satellite, so the orbital periods are the same and they'll never drift.  You have to place your 4 sats in a roughly synchronous orbit to start.  Once they're all deployed, decide which one is going to be your reference satellite, then switch to each of the others in turn and sync them to the reference sat - the SMA's will be adjusted to the same and it'll use a little fuel if needed.

So I may have found an exploit through combining 2 strategies.

If you have both Private Industry 3 and Media Coverage 3, you get a total of -105% to your launch costs. This means you gain money for launching rockets. 5% of the launch cost, but money nevertheless.

You’ve just discovered the SpaceX business model!

Thank you. Downloaded the newest dev branch now.

And another question: is there a 8096 variant of the Belle-Engine? I only found the 8096-C with bigger bell (too big for Agena D).

All engine variants are now on the same part and are selectable using B9 Part Switch, so you want to look for the Belle-RLX81 Liquid Fuel Engine Series part (use the "mafuni" search tag) and then select Belle-RLX81-8096 "Mafuni" variant for Agena-D
