  1. It would, but I need to get some reasonable wind speeds for various planets for it to work. Applying full Earth (or Kerbin) winds on Venus (or Eve) is not ideal.
  2. New version out with a few big fixes - specifically it doesn't apply wind on other planets any more.
  3. It'll work in that it won't crash, but the polar areas on many planets will be messed up.
  4. 100% sure, I wrote the netkan file myself.
  5. Latest RSS and its textures, Kop 1.12.1-138 is the current stable setup. There was a release today, so you might want to update - it fixes a bunch of bugs. you'll also need KSPCommunityFixes now - this should be installed automatically through CKAN. RSSDateTime and KSCSwitcher should be latest, but don't massively affect things. If you know of a source for good quality surface maps for those moons please link it.
  6. Fuel tanks in rockets are generally capsule shaped rather than barrels, so you can't fill all the volume of a cylinder. RO simulates this.
  7. Ah, I see what you mean, unfortunately this is not easily fixable. This is what the 16k heightmap has for that area: As you can see there isn't enough resolution to give better height detail. Even with higher res, you run into the resolution of the PQS system well before you can get the level of detail you want. Not to mention having the whole world at ASTER resolution would require 2 terabytes of height data, which we definitely can't do. I think the only way to get the results you would like is to patch in a model for the area via KK or similar. The launch site heights can be fixed via editing the cfg file.
  8. Height data is taken from NASA's Shuttle Radar Topography Mission, specifically the STRM-30 dataset. it should be accurate to within a few metres for non-extreme elevations, what is the lat/long of the problem area?
  9. This is a known issue. https://github.com/KSP-RO/RealSolarSystem/issues/209 I will probably get a fix sorted for it in the next week or so.
  10. You could use the kOS director to point in any direction like that.
  11. Opening the panel is just for checking settings are working - it should work fine without. And yes, nothing happens on the ground, I have been caught by that - I use the kOS steering manager to get my plane off the ground then switch to AA once airborne. That is AA behaviour, not something specific to the kOS interface.
  12. That should be enough, what happens when you run the script? Also what does AA show when you open the control panel for cruise flight?
  13. This is a thread for the continuation of Kerbal Wind that I've been working on recently. Orignal thread: New GH repository: https://github.com/RCrockford/KerbalWind Current release: https://github.com/RCrockford/KerbalWind/releases/tag/v1.0 Dependencies FerramAerospaceResearch is a dependency. You need it or this mod won't even load. Current status is Beta for testing. Only tested in RSS, it will probably work in other scales, but some of the altitude dependent stuff will be a little off. New features Weather system: it has position and time dependent weather that is seeded from your save game (so you get the same weather if you revert a flight and refly it). New UI: Gust modelling now updates every couple of seconds (speed dependent) rather than every frame which makes it less twitchy. Wind speed and turbulence is altitude (above ground level) dependent. 14. You need to post a full log (as an attachment, don't dump it into a post).
  15. You need to post logs. That's just the standard ksp has crashed pop up.
