  1. Everywhere in the stock system: And some places of the OuterPlanetMod and MinnorPlanet mods
  2. The image for the badge doesn't seem to work any more. Is there a way to get it for a kind of mirror of it?
  3. Well a community manager needs to communicate not just with the community but the developers/project managers etc as well. So I would assume, that any (former or now) community manager actually has a lot more insight how software development works than some guy/girl in a forum thread. I myself didn't worked as community manager or software developer in video games ever. But I was part of a team responsible for the infrastructure in a large software project for a car manafacturer. We had a lot more developers than the KSP2 team, non the less a lot of features were removed (after approval from our customer) and datelines shifted because it turned out, that things are not so easy as they seemed. Were our customer happy about it? No. Were our managment happy? No (since we would only get payed by the customer after the released of the product aka the first cars were deployed with our baby on it). Did we manage to finally finish the project and deliver a working software to the customer? Yes, we did. Any in later releases the removed features were to be added via updates (At least this was the idea when I left. I left before Covid though so I don't know how the pandemic situation made things worse. I would at least accept some problems since part of our infrastructure relied on a local network for performance. However: Since I know the abilities of my former coworkers I assume that they managed to deliver the planned additional features, propably with pandemic induces delays.) We didn't had to argue with angry gamers though, which was propably a big advantage. Angry customers and their project managers are worse enough So sorry to disagree with you: Due to my own experiences (although with different software than games) I think the arguments of RayneCloud are actually more convincing than your complaints about some conspiracy.
  4. Feel free to "borrow" ideas from my Evepollo mission: https://imgur.com/gallery/ZACFq6J I would never managed it without the help from this community so you might consider some of the advice I got: Note, that the mission profile changed for Kerpollo (just Val on the lander instead of three kerbals)
  5. For my Kerpollo it was the other way round, I did Eeloo before Moho although the though of sending my Kerbals to this remote ice ball without direct communication cringed me out. Actually I wanted to go for Moho but in the end I didn't manage a transfer without loosing too much delta-v. Regarding ISRU: Steam has a tutorial (with images) from 2015: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=437378871 Although some things changed (today solar panels doesn't help with heat dissipation you need ratiators) and some parts are not really needed (aka the rover) it's a great help to get a first idea. The tutorial was also posted to this forum (images are broken) the discussion was big help for me too: Good luck with Eve and the no contracts challenge. Happy rocketing
  6. I feel your pain. I felt similiar when I tried to do my first manned Eve return (in this challenge). Since this forum was a big help I would like to help you too. Care to share your craft file? Since you are a quite good (going to Moho and back without ISRU needs serious skills) player I think, that there can't be something wrong with your design decisions. If you like I can have a look and might give some hints what can be improved. Regarding ISRU: Imho it's doesn't make things more difficult but a lot easier. A Jool 5 however might not be the first mission to learn it though. So I would suggest to experiment in a sandbox or another Science game (with hacked science points so you hage the same tech tree like in your Kerpollo game). Design a ISRU-Lander then go to Minmus, then to the mun. Next to Duna and Ike. If you manage to build a lander who works on every of these bodys it's quite likely that it'l work for a Jool 5 too. You can test it by cheating the lander in the orbit of each Jool moon and trying to land and return. I woudn't use ISRU for Laythe (nothing beats planes there) and for Tylo a dedicated lander might be smarter. Some foods for thought: In a normal career game I never ever use the smaller ISRUs drills and refiner, since they have less efficency and everything takes longer. I play with Life support mode so I don't have the time. Kerpollo is different: It doesn't matter how long the mining takes, as long as you have ore. So: Use just the big drills (the lighter ones are only working on areas with big ore quantities) and the small ISRU refiner (weights a lot less->More delta-v). At Jool you can't power everything with solar power so take some fuel cell arrays. Since you can mine for fuel you can create a kind of perpetum mobile. You will need a RTG or small solar device to get the mining rig running when you are out of EC. In regarding to heat mangment: The wiki has some infos, I tend to just use the biggest ones: https://wiki.kerbalspaceprogram.com/wiki/Thermal_Control_System_(large) But If you need to save weight you can also use the medium panels, you will just have to work out where to place it since it needs to be near the devices in neat of a cool breeze: https://wiki.kerbalspaceprogram.com/wiki/Radiator_Panel_(large) I know that this might be a litte overwhelming but for me ISRU was one of the most straight forward things I did in Kerbal ever. One caveat for Kerpollo though: In normal missions I plan to land several times to fill my fuel tanks up to the brim. In Kerpollo this is forbidden by the challenge rules so you need to be careful in mission planning. And: Using a probe sat for discovering the regions with ore is allowed but you need to deattach the satelite before starting the landings. Best deal for the sat is a light probe powered by an ion engine. Since solar power is limited at jool and RTGs don't generate much EC/s t o start with your engine won't have it's full thrust. But it's enogh and that's all, that matters. Manoeuvers will need a little bit longer but it's bearable. For some inspiration here is the album of my Kerpollo Jool5: https://imgur.com/gallery/CG093Wr There is a lot of room to improvement, since I brought science equipment (tbh not needed if your tech tree is already full), used the larger ISRU, I brought more kerbals than needed (so the mothership can be a lot lighter) and didn't had a taximodule. But maybe you get some ideas, best wishes, Jost.
  7. If you are not using any mods for adding radiation I would use nervs for efficiency. If you use a mod with added radiation you could shield the shuttle so they are not an issue.
  8. Nope I don't plan this. I' mostly playing with OPM. Used to play with MPE too, but since it's broken at the moment I don't use it. And none of them has multiple stars. . Thanks for the answer Will try saving the craft tomorow and report whether it works as expected
  9. I got an error "Unknown part KopernicusSolarPanel" on existing craft files in the VAB after updating with CKAN so I went back to the previous version.
  10. According to following thread some planets which uses Gilly as template don't work until changing the template to Minmus thus changing the apearance of them (last pages should have it):
  11. Time for a rescue mission
  12. What's the name of the movie? Due to German copyright law I can't see the youtube video. @Boyster I'm in the "get a job, get a hobby" camp too. After I finished my bachelor degree I wasted two years trying to get a master I actually didn't had any motivation to to anything for it. Dropping off and looking for a job I could do with my bachelor degree was one of the best decisions of my life. Especially it meant I had to to a lot of things (looking for a job, organizing the move to a new town etc) and finally having a regular schedule. If you are unemployed at the moment but wants to do something different try to learn programming, it can be fun to make new stuff and might help later in life. Python is a great language for beginners: https://diveintopython3.problemsolving.io/ However: Programming as a hobby is still a computer-related hobby (like gaming), so I have a kind of different idea: Since I was fed up with spending my days with the pc during the Covid-19-Lockdown (Homeoffice, so I looked at the PC the whole day, didn't even had the usual break from the trip between flat and office) I started to learn playing guitar (should work with any other instrument too). I invested around 200 Euro (one classical guitar for beginners (don't buy under 100 € they are a cheap rip-off!) and a instruction book and new strings, for tuning I use a free Android app ) and this was a good idea too. It's something different than gaming or programming, it doesn't need a PC (so a reason to turn it off!) and it feels like a real achievement if you manage a difficult chord or one of your favourite songs So: Learning an instrument might be something for you. Guitars are quite beginner-friendly, but there are much more If you don't like them.
  13. It's not Deckung or rendevouz but Controller Kerbsls on EVA with aktivsten jet pack
  14. I agree with many issues mentioned in this thread but Im most annoyed about the EVA controls: I don't like rescue Mission before getting the Claw since I always end up in misding the target of the EVA Transfer. My solution: Rendezvous via chat menu
  15. Did you miss @Boyster answer? He linked to a tutorial which was posted to the forums:
  16. There are also other anomalys who are not in the list, but have a random location in any game, see spoiler:
  17. I had similiar issues with mythree kerbal lander, one important trick was to reduce drag by replacing the detachers with hard points and using only two shields (one at top, one at bottom): You are free to steal from my craft
  18. Check the permissions in the file properties. The executable must have the permission to be executed.
  19. There are sone tutorials in the wiki and forum e.g.
  20. Well but they also get more members If the members are actually satisfied with their performance. And "trying to swing their fences to justify their existence " is actually the main reason they exist at all: If a union stops doing anything about working conditions why should people even bother to join them? That example with the waste might be ridiculous but in principle the union is right: A company will use any measure to get more profit. One of the most efficient ways is to lay of workers. So it's actually in the best interest of the workers that their tasks are not done by others.
  21. Note: This subject is deeply political by definition, so I'm not sure, whether it's actually allowed by the forum rules in the first place. As a proud union man I will drop my two cents non the less I live in Germany: Athough Germanys unions are a bit tame for my taste (they don't strike very often but prefer to do some kind of lame deal with management) , they still do a quite good job. They are weak in Industries with low membership, but even there they provide a quite good law insurance If you ever need to go to court because of an action of your boss (e.g. fireing you, cheat in your payment etc). The law department of its umbrella organisation even has a quite comprehensive website about Germans working and social law: https://www.dgbrechtsschutz.de/ Depending of the sector they have other goodies (E.G: The union of teacher and kindergarten staff has a key insurance for their members, since losing a key to a school is not only a pain in the ass for everyone involved but also quite expensive (for the girl/guy loosing the key) , others have deals with insurance companys for an accident insurance (including accidents in your leisure time ) etc). And in sectors with big memberships, they actually do excellent work. Two years ago automotive supplier Neue Hallberger Guss had a big fight with their most important customer (VW), where managment of NHG decided to close one of their factorys. Since about 90% of the company was organized in IG Metall, they started to strike. In the end, owners of NHG sold the factory to new owners. Although they still layed staff of: 50% of people losing the job is better than 100% lost jobs. And they mostly layed people of, who are young, had no family etc, so have a better chance to get a new job A east german noodle factory (Teigwaren Riesa ) did a successful strike for getting a higher pay two years ago, too, but they also had 75% of the staff member of the NGG (union of gastronomy and food industry). The same union did a great campain (called Deliverunion ) for organizing the poor guys, who devliver pizzas to people with long Kerbal sessions like me . So yes an union membership is actually a quite good idea, especially If it's not so great at the moment: $24 if they are performing ok or good, is not a big deal for the benifts. I pay 1% of my income at the moment, because of Germans system they can't control it. If I ever would need their law support, they might ask for a confirmation of my income. That's just fair imho, their lawyers and staff need to eat too). If you think they can do better: 24$ is also not a big deal, to get the right to vote and run for a position, to better things. You might want to read Jane McAlevys "No shortcuts". She is a former union organizer, who wrote this as part of her academic education, to reflect what's working for getting better results and what's not. tldnr: I'm a proud union man, always was, always will Edit: Just saw your last replay after posting, sorry for spam. 24$ for medical insurance sounds great. Welcome to the union Kollege Spacescifi (coworker in Germany, we adress fellow unionists with this term e.G. coworker Spacescifi )
  22. Just that I'm not missunderstood: I never worked in the game industry and NOT on KSP or KSP2. But car industry is not so different in this regard. The salary is higher though. I agree with you concerning solidarity with the girls and guys who actually do the work
