Granted: The Health Potion will cause you to miss every rocket launch stream inexplicably
I wish for Mars to actually be habitable

I think for Payloads that can't use the Pez dispenser SpaceX will Pursue one of 2 options
1. A Larger Version of the Pez dispenser, it will be capable of launching Medium sized SATs in decent sized numbers. I don't see why this wouldn't be possible but it might require an extensive re-design of the Rings used to construct the ships.
2. Fully Expendable ship with ride share like payload as it will have a LOT of payload capability. Probably stretched as well like V3, if a Payload is so big it takes up the entire Bay then that's gonna be a option as well.

Def a Methane Leak, although I do wonder what caused it. Was it Quality Control, an Issue with the plumbing or perhaps something more sinister....(Enter the Dark SpaceX Theory /j)

I think its safe to say that Flight 8 Catch is off

It should take as long as is necessary to establish the cause, and establish mitigations. Taking "as long as possible" is absurd.
That could have been phrased better
What I meant is they should spend some serious time investigating this, as this is what I consider the worst failure of the Starship program so far. Obviously don't purposely stall for time but they should absolutely go through every possible thing that could have led to this failure.
-
Looking back on it's even worse than I thought. Only upside is they proved booster catch wasn't a fluke. Flights are being disrupted and this time I fully believe they should take as long as possible to review what went wrong, FAA Investigation and all.

Yikes, not a good look for SpaceX

Fair enough, I understand that it is your first mod and you have other things going on.
I just want to let you know that a LOT of people use visual mods like Scatterer and EVE, so making your mod be compatible with those is quite important.
Either way, good luck with the mod and whatever is going on in your life
Scatterer is already pretty much done, I'm just ironing out annoying Bugs, Eve is basic rn as its just the stock clouds but it works.

I guess NASA is going to have a good time the next 4 years.

Is Scatterer what's causing the stars to seem absolutely huge?
I just installed the mod to check it out and I must say that it is promising but for some reason the other stars seem oddly bright, as in they look larger than Kerbol from Jools Orbit.
Is that the reason or is it maybe some other mod? As I have a lot of graphics mods installed alongside scatterer, like volumetric clouds, AVP, etc.
There is a Lot of Problems with the mod as of now, beyond the Mod just absolutely tanking the framerate for some reason (Narrowing this down). It's mostly probably because I use the same Scatterer flare as Kerbol does and the Lightcurves. I haven't done much work lately, mostly due to Real Life Reasons but also because this was my first ever mod and thus its kind of a Frakenstein of Parts, a lot of bodies with lower quality configurations mixed with ones with higher quality, I think its more so the lightcurves as some of the newer stars I've been cooking up have this overall problem less, but its obviously not high on my priority list to Fix.

Flight 6 T-Minus less than 20 Hours, game on.

Luckily I'll be out of School, see y'all at the livestream!

Flight 6 is aiming for Monday, Nov 18.
Interestingly, there is a Launch Window later in the day that might be able to produce a Daylight Re-Entry/Splashdown, either way, HYPE!

Second September Dev Update
So, I seem to have fixed a Couple of Issues, I can definitely say its Been Kittopia causing the problems. Overall, I'd say I'm 60% done with 0.8, I am technically done with Kepler-53 now and just need to finish Scatterer. I actually learned there are 3 Stars within the Fomalhaut system, and have expanded the scope to include those.
Anyway, I'd like to post the Trello Page here:https://trello.com/invite/b/66e5ffb34789d5984d523b07/ATTI7db386447c0c84b1f455baf521cbd82d897BA571/distant-skies The Trello Page has most information regarding the future of Distant Skies.

Hi guys!
September Dev update.
So I haven't the time to properly work on the mod recently, this is mostly because, as usual, I have begun my final year of Standard Education. However, I have made a bit of progress, that being getting a Few Major Issues Down, I think I know where some earlier bug reports had their problems with. Unfortunately, my install has imploded and for some reason a lot of stuffs seems to have broken such as my Normals, Ect. So I have a lot more bugfixing.
I do intend on finishing the mod however, but work will be slow.

Hey! Been a little bit since I wrote here so I decided to update you guys on progress so far (it’s a lot)
Call this a dev update of sorts I suppose.
First things first I had to take like a week to optimize the current model’s triangle count as it had over a hundred and eighty thousand (which is way to much for something this size if you didn’t know). The new version of the model is about 3 times more efficient at around 68k.
Second, I actually finished the model!!! Every little detail is now done on the physical model, and I started moving on to texturing.
Third I massively changed my design and parts list for the KSP2 mod, including all new science experiments and a BUNCH of colony parts.
Fourth and last currently I am texturing the model and working with other modders on how the colonies will work and function with their resource mod they're making. Only the large segment's texture is mostly complete right now but I’m making big progress to finishing the model as a whole, and will hopefully be done within the month. In the Imgur album you’ll find the current texture for the model (with a fancy window I’m kinda proud of. It took a while to figure out )
Heres the imgur album if you wanna check out all the current images I have: https://imgur.com/gallery/nexusstations-gallery-v3-I5L3pwv
That’s all for today but i hope my next major post here will be showing off the complete model… texture and all
Later!
Careful Nex, your starting to sound a bit like Nate :KerbalKlueless:

I excited for 0.8 and .9 they sound amazing. Also will you do volumetric cloud compatibility?
I do not have volumetrics nor have any intention to acquire it, so no. I will however eventually do parallax compatibility

Added a part I forgot to put in
My honest take on this given some concern I've seen on other sites:
Jared is probably honestly one of the best picks possible, politics non withstanding.
A lot of the concern I see stems from his connection to SpaceX and Starlink, which I believe he has some sort of connection too. However, I don't believe this is a reason to call Doomsday.
For One, his connection to SpaceX is mostly through the Polaris Program, which is a Gemini-Ambition level set of missions. This is paid for with Isaacmans own money, and doesn't affect his Role at NASA. The Only way I see the Polaris Program affecting his role at NASA is one of 2 ways. Either he uses this to clear the Hubble Mission, which was already planned. If that happens, we will see a Repair Mission to Hubble which was already planned and increased Cooperation between the Polaris and NASA Teams. This will be a Polaris undertaking, not a NASA one, if it even does happen. As for Starlink, that is purely a private undertaking that brings internet to more rural communities, NASA has nothing to do with it and this does not affect Isaacmans tenure at NASA.
The Other concern I see mostly online is that Isaacman will favor SpaceX. I don't believe he will really 'Favor' SpaceX any more than any other NASA Lead. SpaceX, at the moment, operates in bulk the cheapest launch system for a Wide Market as well as Falcon Heavy and potentially an Expendable SHLV (Starship). NASA should invest in other companies as well (BO, Stokespace) that show promise but for the moment Falcon 9 and Heavy are the best options on the market and NASA should make use of this. Isaacman himself has shown some Enthusiasm for BO, and also seems like the kind of Guy to greatly support planetary science projects.
I greatly look forward to his Tenure at NASA
