Reported Version: v0.1.3 (latest) | Mods: none | Can replicate without mods? Yes OS: Microsoft Windows 10 Pro 10.0.19045 64-bit | CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-7700 CPU @ 3.60GHz (8) | GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 (3949MB) | RAM: 32683 Wing Control Surfaces don't move when aeroplane spawns on runway. This has happened a couple of times since v0.1.3. The only fix I've found is to quit out to Steam and reload KSP2. Included Attachments: WingControlSurfacesStopWorking_logs.zip

Agreed; there should be a salt flat somewhere on Kerbin with a marked mile/kilometre/whatever to do land speed record attempts and, as Idahobo suggests, this should be a spawn option (unless part of the challenge would be to transport one's craft to the flats?). If this were implemented might it be possible to code a speed recorder into the course? So we can have properly measured average speeds over the whole course length. A record would only be set by (at least) two runs in opposite directions within a specific time limit (to prevent "suicide" vehicles/runs!).

Agreed; it would be very handy to be able to do this, i.e. drag the grid vertically and horizontally to align it with a specific part of a craft, also perhaps to allow a "zoom" function for the grid so that two parallel lines could be aligned with different parts of the craft. Also, it would be very handy to be able to pan across the craft while in the "CAD" view (or is this already a thing and I'm just missing how to do it?). EDIT: Panning while in 2D view is already a thing!

Only kidding. But, lucky for me, UTC is the same as GMT. All that said; still no patch...
-
So in proper time - which is to say in God's Marvellous Time - you mean around about tea time?
-
Good call; using the I-beam did seem to stop it from happening.

I can only find the KSP1 physicsless parts list. The wheels are attached to a ST-EX-4 truss. Is this likely to be physicsless? The girders weren't in KSP1 were they?

Just been experiencing a similar problem to ...but with rover wheels. I was trying to land on Minmus but every time I exited time warp the "time shock" would rip the wheels off the rover I was trying to ferry down to the surface, and sometimes cause other parts of the rover to break too. The effect seems to get more sever the deeper into the gravity well you get. Here's a short clip of a few of the times this happened: v0.1.1.0 : Windows 10 : i7-7700 : GTX 1650 (GDDR6) : 32GB RAM

Similar experience: I'd circumnavigated Minmus with Munus (video below) Who left his rover on Minmus. I wanted to try a slightly modified version of the rover on Minmus and, as I was preparing to land, realised I could, with a little effort, do so where Munus had left his rover and so satisfy my curiosity as to how it had faired un-kerbaled for the past few days. On touchdown How surprised was I to find Mervan sitting in the driver's seat? Very; I was very surprised. Not a high priority bug I realise, but something you will no doubt want to iron out at some point. I could wax long and lyrical about all the things I love about this game you're making. Keep up the good work!

Weekly Challenge #4 - Apollo Recreation
NaughtyMonster replied to Ghostii_Space's topic in Challenges & Mission Ideas
Kouston, we have a problem... Tansby seems happy as Larry, but is that a shadow we see flit briefly across Bill's face there? (please excuse my shoddy attempt at video editing) -
I've had the same issue recur several times. Mostly, as Astronut says, when reloading a quick save. Here are a few examples from Low Mun Orbit - where I've had the most trouble: But just now (19/03/23) it happened in LKO when I staged: I've only ever had this problem with the large legs (so far...). First three images v0.1.0.0 Fourth image v0.1.1.0 Windows 10 : i7-7700 : MSI GTX 1650 (GDDR6) : 32GB RAM

Weird Mun orbit change after coming out of time warp
NaughtyMonster replied to JWag's topic in v0.1.0
I've had this happen several times around the Mun myself. Here's a short clip of my PE dropping by about 7km as the time warp ends in orbit around Minmus: Note; smaller changes in AP & velocity occur at the same point. Version 0.1.1.0 Windows 10 i7-7700 MSI GTX 1650 (4GB GDDR6) 32GB 2400MHz (CL15) This seems to be a fairly common occurrence so I imagine you are well aware of it, but please do let me know if you'd like me to do further investigations. -
Mind Snack Aerospace persuade Munus to take their new ultra long duration moon buggy on a test drive around Minmus... The nine and a half hour drive is compressed into one and a half minutes, for your appraisal & viewing pleasure: Turns out the added inertia of bringing nearly 4 tonnes too much methalox may not have been a completely bad thing. Though starting off so close to Minmus' eastern terminator very nearly was. Once I got up into the highlands my average speed dropped to around or below 10 m/s. Which, given the difference between my surface speed and orbital speed , is about the rate at which Minmus turns. So for much of the journey I was racing to stay in sunlight. Only when I got to the Great and Greater Flats (?) was i able to sustain about 30 to 40+ m/s and so get Kerbol higher in the sky for the latter stages of the trip.

Bring back AutoStrut
NaughtyMonster replied to PoppersRHere's topic in KSP2 Suggestions and Development Discussion
Assuming autostrut will be implemented at some point; can it please be made to add mass to the craft proportional to the extent of the autostruting? Struts have mass, so should autostruts! -

I had these strange lights when I launched this craft: Then when I tried to time-warp to morning this happened: As far I I could tell it was the rocket that was bugged, when I rebuilt it (the rocket) from scratch it worked, sort of...
