  1. It is very hard to find any unified thread to give you much info on how to make KSP parts in the blender enviroment. This thread will attempt to put knowledge learned through trial and error from me and hopefully anybody out there who has experience in to one place in the hope that together we can help each other out. It will have no particular order as it is just as we go. I am just like you, a relative beginner, stumbling through, but I have worked out some things over the last few months. I use the last BforArtist 2 version known to work with the .mu plugin, version 2.7. It is a fork of and the equivalent of Blender 2.93 alpha. All info, from anybody with knowledge of using this system is very welcome. I cannot guarantee that questions will be answered quickly, if this thread has a decent size by the time you see it, please look through to see if your question already has been covered.
  2. @Waifu Art Thou Romeo Hi I am a novice but, from my experience the problem is with the plugin, not blender. I use BforArtist 2 version 2.7 (equivalent of Blender 2.93alpha) which is a fork of blender and the last version I know for sure will accept the plugin. The plugin was never finished and it falls down in many areas. I get around them when I can and learn to live with it when I can't. I always have the problem when I drag parts in from a different .mu, into the part I am building. So I have learned to drag the parts in without manipulating them at all, Export the file, start a new session and then import the export back in. Now that it is back you can see which way around the export put them and work from there. When you manipulate them in the new import, they will stay that way when you export it next time. Always create a new export so that if anything stuffs up you don't lose everything. You can clear out old ones once you are sure things have gone right. I have no idea how to create animations from scratch, so if you do, I would love some info. Also how to show the texture skin on the model without having to use "Texture Project" Then the subsection "project" and then undo.
  3. Hi @Watermel00n. Sorry I didn't see this when you were still here. I colour or make the images for my parts using the free off the internet "Paint.net" program. Just be sure to get it only from the creators website. If you want someting more creative than plain colours, you can search the image sections of DuckDuckGo (preferred) or Google. You can select the section you need from a pic using the box, circle or lasso tool and the copy it, paste it into the image you are creating and then manipulate it in you pic. It B4A2 you use the UVEdit section to create a UV map, there are several ways to do this. I usually use the "Project from view" option to create to the panel outline in the 2D overlay on the right. You can then also select only some vertices that hold faces on the main model and use project from view, so that you can move just those sections to where you want on the image overlay. I have some posts in various threads where I have covered things I have discovered, I will see about consolidating them in one thread to make it easier.

  6. After the shaders are applied. But if you are working on a different 3D program then I guess you don't know. I thought that that black box you did for Caerfinon ages back was done in Blender.
