I was deadly serious about that. Still am, too. -

We may be saying the same thing :). -

Full and early disclosure will only save them that sort of hassle and reputational damage, though, and those of us whose hardware can’t run the game and aren’t going to buy new hardware are by definition not part of KSP2’s potential market. Giving them the bad news now or later won’t make any difference to their purchasing decisions . -

It’d give me time to order another gaming laptop if mine won’t cut the mustard? -

They certainly don’t have OSH legislation of any sort. I doubt they even have insurance… The discord is tolerable with brutal and ruthless blocking. I’m not seeing any more space cat, agony Kerbal react, or news posts of any size now. -
What will be your go to Paint scheme?

Orange 50% gray 40% black 10%, give or take. Because they are waiting for me in the test chamber. -

Ultra Graphics Settings features

Yup. And if the graphics are as good as what we’re seeing now I should be good for another several years/few thousand hours in the game. The devs, however, have an excellent idea of what their player base is running: more cause for optimism… -
I just thought of something: Kerbal eyes. Those big, buggy Kerbal eyes; much bigger than human eyes, with huge pupils. More aperture, more focal length, bigger detectors. Has anybody tried to model their performance? I wonder how the world looks to Kerbals?

Ultra Graphics Settings features
Wheehaw Kerman replied to Vl3d's topic in Prelaunch KSP2 Discussion
Controversial take: we should really only freak if the graphics look sketchy halfway into EA. The game is being developed by a credible studio, not a marketing agency, by a team that’s far larger (10-15 times larger, IIRC) and staffed with people who love the game, with the original code as an example of what not to do, on a current engine, with a focus on quality as opposed to deadlines and an emphasis on optimization, and they’ve had 3-4 years. The imagery released looks far better than KSP1 already. Given this, I’m optimistic. The facts point to a solid EA release and a polished end product that’ll be a success. In fact, I think that the team is sandbagging right now, and there’s decent odds I’m going to be buying a new gaming laptop in March. Feel free to point and laugh at me in May if I’m wrong. -
You could so take the position that the flying saucers are just hoaxes perpetrated by Kerbals…. After all, most human UFO reports are probably hoaxes.

KSP2 Hype Train Thread

Indeed. The Kerbal eating pizza and the soft drink can floating around the cabin I think have disproved the Kerbal photosynthesis theory. Seriously, though, once I’d reminded myself that KSP’s audience includes a lot of kids, I got over my knee-jerk reaction to the voice pretty quick. The tutorials are going to do their job, I think; help players up the learning curve without having to walk uphill both ways through the snow to Scott Manley’s channel like we did. I can’t help but think, though, that Joel Kinnaman, Krys Marshall, and Michael Dorman would be perfect voice actors for the base building tutorial… -

Seriously, though, I was reading the exchange about the Put-Put Orion engine on the Discord earlier. I am now even more hyped. Just imagine the multiplayer applications. The expression “hilarious griefing engine” springs to mind. On the other hand, imagining what a multiplayer KSP game with a bunch of Put-Put-powered ships zooming around surfing strings of nuclear detonations could devolve into made me realize that the Outer Space Treaty may not be an entirely bad thing. -

The pancake thing is definitely pointing at punitive hardcore life support! It’s clear proof that Kerbals need food! -

I’ve found Discord to be very useful for small groups of people who know each other and who have a game in common. I use Discord to provide in-game voice chat for the local Go club, and to organize an RPG I run for my nephews and a couple of their friends. I doubt I’ll check out the Discord unless it becomes part of the official process: bug reporting or some such. In fact, I plan on not coming here for a few weeks after EA. I want to rediscover the Kerbolar system and possibly Planet 8 spoiler-free. COMPLETELY SPOILER FREE I HAVE A VERY PARTICULAR SET OF SKILLS -

Tensioning the landing legs so that the vehicle points radial out even on slopes. I hope they do that too. I’ve put pistons with grip pads on bases and ISRU landers for levelling purposes because I would rapidly go crazy if my living space was on a slant. -
Jeb probably has this blasting on his KairPods during countdowns:

Or a good dumpling on Duna? -
I posit that the Kerbal sci fi equivalents of Little Green Men are actually almost twice as tall as the average Kerb and come in a range of colours from pale pink through dark brown. Very small heads, too.
-
I could live with that as a background option. As the central theme of the game? Meh.
