You should be able to press v. You have the camera mode set to Auto, which chooses the best camera angle for a certain situation.
-
I know that was terrible wording, I just couldn't think of the right word.
-
I know that this is never going to happen, but I want a moon (or planet) that looks exactly like 2001's rendition of Iapetus, complete with monolith in the center of an unblinking eye.
-
IIRC, all you do is copy and paste the 'TriggerTech' Folder into the 'GameData' folder.
-
I'm talking about having an intentional slingshot from planet to planet, like this: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/5/5c/Tour-v1-2.svg
Also, I think I've found an optimal Kerbin-Duna-Jool trajectory. You transfer to Duna when Duna is at 44.36 degrees to Kerbin and Jool is 107.2 degrees to Kerbin, make sure the predicted apoapsis after the encounter is at Jool's orbit, plan corrections, and slingshot. Calculating the window time is beyond me though, so I'll just leave this here.
-
How hard would it be to calculate planetary slingshot trajectories in KSP? And, more importantly, how long would the transfer windows be? I've just thought of this a few minutes ago, and it would be really cool if we could pull this off. I know people have already done this, but they've all done massive corrections after the flyby.
-
I think he knows it, too, judging by the look on his face.

I used MechJeb for everything until .17 came out, and my computer decided it really didn't like MechJeb and dropped my framerate to 1 fps, so now I don't use it anymore.

If you get rid of all those parachutes, you could save like 50 parts.
-
No, I mean this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caloris_Basin
See 'Antipodal chaotic terrain and global effects.'

I believe something like this actually happened on Mercury, so it is realistic.
-
Utterly ineffective. The current version of Kerbol is more interesting to look at, but has neither heat, atmosphere, nor solar wind. That was just me attempting to be funny. But you are destroyed by some invisible barrier at around 120,000m, even though the visible surface is much below that. I think somebody did land on it, though, most likely due to a glitch.
I believe it was NovaSilisko (I don't know if it was before or after he became a dev), and he did it through save hacking.

a)The training is supposed to have 2 modes, but there are two more that occur as soon as you launch your first rocket/enter the VAB.
b)Career mode is not in yet.
c)You have to rotate the parts using WSADQE.

I believe KSP uses Newtons.
-
The game uses a random name generator that stitches syllables together. Sometimes unfortunate similarities with words are made.
-
Yes. FAR smaller. Gilly is only 23 km in diameter, Bop is 130 km. For comparison, Minmus is 120 km and the Mun is 400 km.
-
Why don't you ask r4mon? He has a plugin you may have heard of that will help you.
-
That's an unfortunate name for something without men.
I was just making a horrible pun, but yeah.
Part 2!

The ceremonious first stranding!

And some pics of the latest Dike-1 unmanned mission to the Duna system.

Just build an utterly massive rocket and hope it gets there. Most Mun rockets are capable of at least a flyby.
Edit: I'd probably already have landed on Duna if I could just get the transfer right.
-
Why did i have to see that at 9 at night??
-
Hmm. Not the most orthodox way, but good job! You definitely have the power to direct yourself into a stable orbit and back. I'll try this design out.
-
Wait a second! What's that down in the right, behind the created by bar?

I don't want to sift through a thousand posts for the answer, so I'm just going to ask it: How bad is the framerate drop from this mod? Normally it'd be a no-brainier, but I've heard that KSP puts very little pressure on the GPU, so I just thought I'd ask.
