Can we please get an update as to what’s going on?
HammerTyme replied to HammerTyme's topic in KSP2 Discussion
This is such a huge bummer… KSP has a pretty big community. Maybe not compared to some other massive AAA games. But as a whole, KSP has had a decent community for a long time. It’s not like it’s just some random indie game that makes it part way through development and vanishes. I can’t imagine it truly is the end of this game… I really hope at the very least, another studio will pick this up somehow and continue to carry the touch. Even if it means the game will take even longer to finish. I’m ok with that. I just don’t want to see this game come to an end. Almost reminds me of the Apollo program in the early 70s. It sucks that it ended. It makes you wonder how far humanity would be in terms of real space exploration if it would have continued in full force over the years. I don’t want this same ironic fate to happen to Kerbal space program. This game has so much potential. As a huge space fan. This just hurts my soul seeing this happen. -
Anything? It’s been almost a week since all this chaos started. It would be nice to have some official confirmation as to what future plans on. Is KSP2 really just straight up dead? Thrown out the window? Is there going to be a new team working on it? Surely there’s been some internal discussion. It would just be nice if the community could get some info…

Thank you for the update. Although I was hoping for a release date for the next update… since it’s been awhile. I’m happy we at least got some info on it. I’m looking forward to colonies. One thing I REALLY wish we had in this game was joystick support… it would make flying planes so much better. ps. Those clouds look insane. I can’t wait for that.

Bug Status [2/23]

I really hope they fix the issue with Mun landers falling through the surface of you time warp. Everytime I time warp with my lander on the Mun, then return to normal speed, my lander will either fall through the surface or it will suddenly appears way above the surface. Anyone else experience this? -
Reported Version: v0.2.1 (latest) | Mods: none | Can replicate without mods? Yes OS: Win 11 | CPU: 12900k | GPU: 3090ti | RAM: 32gigs 5600Mhz DDR5 I have discovered something interesting. A possible bug. Maybe. I’m unsure. I’m noticing two different outcomes when pressing spacebar to do my next stage (decoupling in this scenario) vs manually pressing the part and clicking decouple. I’m going to share 2 videos. The first video is when I’m pressing the spacebar to decouple with the next stage. Notice the smooth transition of the decouple. The vessel moves straight away from the other one. As it should. The 2nd video is manually clicking the part and then clicking decouple. Notice the awkward transition? It’s decoupling and moving away at an angle. It’s not moving straight away as it did when I clicked spacebar. I’ve repeated this multiple times over and over. Same result everytime. Now this had me thinking, could this be related to the inconsistency of undocking? Undocking has been one of my biggest pet peeves in this game since launch. Sometimes it works great, like in the first video. And sometimes the vessels disconnects and moves away at a weird angle as shown in the 2nd video. Undocking is done by clicking the part and then clicking on “undock” just as I did in the 2nd video, but with decoupling instead. Is there some kind of bug with manually clicking on a part to do an action like that versus using the spacebar to trigger the next stage? Video evidence: Pressing spacebar: IMG_1235.mp4 Pressing decouple: IMG_1236.mp4

Flight Putting a decoupler on a Clamp-O-Tron will break it.

I just wanted to point out that this is still an issue/bug in the current most up to date verison of the game. I hope this gets fixed soon. -
Flight Shielded Docking Ports Not Docking [Post-v0.2.1]

I hope devs see this and get this bug fixed soon. I’ve been having issues with docking for many months now. -
Flight Docking Ports Not Docking [Possibly Happens When Trying To Re-Dock After Undocking]
HammerTyme replied to Stenner's question in Flight
I stopped playing this game a few months ago because of this one specific issue. It was unbelievably frustrating when I can’t dock due to whatever bug this is. I just tried playing again today thinking surely this has been fixed after 4-5 months. And it’s not… This is a huge bummer. I really hope the devs are aware of this issue. I really don’t understand why this hasn’t been fixed yet. I love this game and I thank the devs for creating this, but my god… it’s such a downer when a bug like this hasn’t been fixed yet. I guess I’ll check back again in a couple months. Sorry if I sound rude, I’m just really upset and frustrated. -
KSP2 For Science! Performance Check-in
HammerTyme replied to Intercept Games's topic in Announcements
Performance has definitely come a long ways since the early access launch. I’m very happy for that. Thank you devs. Now it’s just some of the annoying bugs I hope get squashed soon. Specifically the bugs with docking. I’ve been having issues with docking since day 1. The most annoying one is when I undock a vessel from another vessel, there’s always a high chance that it will blast away from it and at an angle all weirdly. Sometimes out of control and spinning. Instead of a smooth decoupled motion moving in the opposite direction. I hope this gets fixed soon. This is the main reason I’ve stopped playing for a while. It was getting too frustrating for me. -

I REALLY hope docking/undocking physics gets improved soon. This is the number 1 biggest issue for me personally and the reason I’ve stopped playing a couple months ago. Undocking a vessel and having it blast off at an angle all weirdly or causing the other vessel to move out of control in a strange behavior is a huge bummer. Once this is fixed I will definitely jump back into the game. -

I’m a little bummed that docking physics is STILL not on the list of things needed to be fixed.. : ( especially since this has been an issue since launch.. about 8 months or so ago. I have reported this issue as a bug here on the forums before. I’ve seen others talk about it on discord. I’ve seen Matt Lowe himself mention it a couple times now on his videos on YouTube. . So I’m confused as to why this isn’t being worked on. This is a major issue that’s preventing me, and likely many others from enjoying the game. Can a dev please reply to this so I know that it’s at least known and if there will be any sort of fix for this soon? I really want to enjoy this game but the docking and undocking is very unstable and has been since the beginning of this games early access launch. Just this morning I was trying to do a mun mission and when I undocked my Lander from my other vessel it blasted it away, up at an angle. Rather than a smooth disconnect and slowly moving away as it should. And recently I was not even able to dock with my other vessel at all. It would just bounce right off the other vessel and would not dock at all. The dock part was previously connected to a decouple, which apparently breaks the docking physics once that’s disconnected. -

I’m a little bummed that docking issues aren’t up high on this list… let alone on this list at all -
That’s good to know! I really hope they improve it soon.

Can’t wait! Also.. where are you getting these awesome screenshots from? I saw you posted in another thread some cool work in progress images as well.

Hey everyone. I haven’t been keeping up with the game much lately. I’ve been busy with work the past few months. Only having time to play KSP2 once in awhile. My biggest frustration since launch has been docking…. I know it was improved a little shorty after launch. But ever since than I don’t think anything has changed much/improved further. I’m still having a lot of issues with undocking. Vessels being undocked will suddenly jolt away, at an angle rather than a smooth disconnect and float away slowly as they should. Docking ports not working at all after being connected to a decoupler. (I think this is a confirmed bug). Undocking from my space station causing it to suddenly burst apart. Stuff like that. Docking is important for the gameplay loops I personally enjoy in the game. And having them not working properly is a huge bummer. With that said, guess my question for anyone who knows… is there any plans to improve this soon? I know the science update is coming next month and I REALLY hope that docking will be fixed, can any devs confirm if that’s a possibility?
