  1. Right? That is what I want to know. I agree with this. To suggest a HUGE name in the industry is going to pour millions in developement with an grand plan to generate a fraction of that it returns? I don't think they will break even, size of the team means a excrements load of licenses & salaries.. completenwith packages / severance. Suggesting the goal all along was specifically to scame the consumernis completely asanine. I do think the game entered EA before it was ready bc someone somewhere wanted to recoup some of the initial capital expenditures while testing market viability. That's is a far cry from pyramid or ponzi
  2. Timberborn, Space Trash Scavenger, EarthX, Going Mideaval (A tiny bit of Manor Lords) With Per Aspera on the To Play Soon List. Also think Rocket Science is shaping up to be a good candidate for a more KSP1 feel. I've started to follow and hope development goes well.
  3. I encounter this on mobile. Another issue : The draft persists despite having deleted all the relevant text. If I decide to reword something an erase half of it, tab over to imgur and return.. Occasional the deleted text will return.
  4. I can understand the argument..suck but I get the reasoning. I predicated my decision to push for a refund based on two factors.. 1. They fix most of the BIG bugs 2. Mod Community Continues to Support the game There is no way I would recommend KSP2 without the caveat of mod installs. Plus whaybi truly hope for is a mission loop like KSP1. If those hopes are dashed I have no reason to play. Keeping them up for a period ensures those already purchasing the game can maintain their personal libraries but future consumer will find incentive through modded play.
  5. There are a couple mods that i think are awesome QOL editions. Waypoint Manager HUD / Nav View The waypoint manager allows users to make custom waypoints that can be integrated with other mods (like Mechjeb) and HUD projects and AR style HUD around the ship. Essentially making flight view an overlay navball. One of my all time favorite QOL mods is EVA Follower. It allows you to chain Kerbal together and walk where ever you want to go while all the Kerbals follow along in a line!! Awesome if you are using the KIS inventory systems. Thanks for taking the time to share with us
  6. I have juno and am enjoying it. But the mission dynamic is more contract centric and less on the exploration. I do like the ease to DL craft & having logic as a core game feature. Rocket Science is *looking* interesting.. it's about to drop an "agency" DLC. the only thing that kinda sucks about rocketwerkz is the stacked on charges for DLC. I understand the need to monetize and think thats a million times better than MTX, just gets pricey. Really does allow for an elevated quality of content. Yes, I would absolutely love a new modlist to compare notes. Have a Vanilla install sitting in a folder waiting for just such an occasion
  7. KSP has an element of Quirk that's.. just right. It's very difficult to quantity, but that was one of my complaints regarding the sequel... the campiness was taken a bit too far. I did not like the suggestion that hands set up the discoverables, It had been taken a bit over the top for me. That aside, it is what drew me so wholely to the franchise. I have said a few times, that the courage / stupidity metrics had me sold instantly. Summarizes how the Kerbals were able to conquer the Cosmos with toaster ovens and washing machines. I always imagine the evolutionary progression of the Doozers from Fraggle Rock. I would like some spiritual successor to maintain that perfect level of cheese that KSP1 community / OG dev team nailed so well. I still have my dream of a Lego version that does something like levels of physics as different options. If you do stumble across the next game that*screams* KSP vibes.. please for love of all that is good and holy.. shoot me a DM.
  8. It really doesn't matter why the game failed at this point.. it is my personal opinion it is now dead with no hope of ever surviving. this is a sentiment that others in the discord share... those modders that spent a year building the foundation of what (nearly) every other mod uses. Modders have long been responsible for the success of the KSP franchise. As I have said in the past.. look at the major games that allow heavy mod support.. never winter nights, morrowind / skryrim, minecraft, space engineers, even sim city 3k / 4k all have active communities YEARS after they should have died. If the modders of KSP2 pack up and leave .. well the game is pretty much f@k'd. (I am not critical of this decision. I respect the hell out of the modders that spend untold hours on a passion I can experience too. I completely understand and support any choice to pull mods and prevent KSP2 from making money off of your work.)
  9. That's not what is being said. Merely pointing out the situations you have experienced may not be analogous. This is infered by your stance that potential unemployment can in no way be considered devastating to a developer. So others are trying to alleviate your ignorance by describing situations where unemployment may be devastating. Yea, the world does suck ass. That's life. Misery is the one common experience all of humanity shares with one another. No one deserve a medal just for being shat on. I would grant them the courtesy of not dismissing or invalidating the severity of their situations. He'll, they could be financially stable and a die hard KSP fan. If *I* were working on the franchise and lost my job... I would absolutely be devastated even if I never had another financial worry. Life is full of subjective experience. Merely adopting a self ascribed stance of authority does not lend objective merit to your arguments.
  10. This is heartbreaking but understandable completely. I respect the integrity displayed with your decision.
  11. I think it was greed to a degree... Just my thoughts. But it felt (again to me) that the scope of the game changed at some point. It became shallow shell of the former spirit of the game. Various elements were simplified & and extreme focus on visuals were both designed to increase market share. The scope was a bit grand & I felt they shifted focus somewhere along the way. The narrow focus on visuals / multi-player promises over more technical aspects ensured a poor reception. I don't know all the details behind the scenes that contributed to multiple delays, but I still think certain road map items should have been reserved for future DLC (Subsequent Systems) & Multiplayer considered more of a stretch goal. Start Small, Refine and start a realistic cadence of feature / patch content.
  12. There is a distinct difference between a tornado "watch" and a tornado "warning" Watch indicates conditions are optimal for spinning off a twister. A Warning is when one has been spotted or confirmed as touching down. There was not a lay off watch announced.. no this indicates 70 people have confirmed job losses. Whether or not they are absorbed remains to be seen. The lack of official statement suggests that is not the case. However, the warn notice is so people get appropriate notice that their job has already been terminated.
  13. It's covered in the very first post If you have stutter, crashes or general issues due to memory allocation, you can use this mod to increase the RAM allocated to mono processes. This may only make marginal difference in better machine but potentially significant gains in older systems
  14. This is the angle I will attempt when I try to get another refund. If I decide to do so.. if the game gets a semblance of bug correction in June AND continues to see mod development.. I will wait and hope for contract / mission packs. But I feel the pace of true communication combined with promotional material.. I would make the argument that development was always a bust. They used EA as an attempt to recoup cost & not as intended. "Pacing and communication suggest that the development teams never continued work after the breaks. 6 weeks of "sprint planning" followed by closure suggests this was an attempt to string everything out while proper legal hoops were jumped. The game was EA only in the broadest sense & initial state of the game was largely unplayable beyond demo purposes. It was never intended to see completion.. I want my money back." I think this may be the only real hope people have at refunds. You must look for angles not covered by the EA agreements. It really sucks that KSP2 never utilized the community fully for development.
  15. There is an option to take it out of early access without the official 1.0 stamp. I don't recall the specific verbiage used but seem to recall that being one of the options when "you can no longer support development"
  16. I don't know if this is youth or sheltered life speaking. It does not take much economic upheaval to disrupt a person's life. You have no idea what is going on behind the scenes. Whether there's divorce or fresh out of college with a pile of debt. In recent years there have been an unprecedented number of developers laid off, not to mention the many thousand creative / infrastructure peoples similiarly impacted. With corporate greed and an increasing reliance on various AI models for automation.. guaranteed work in the coming / years is not a give. Your comments suggest a distinct lack of adversity in your life. Though I do not wish specific hardships on anyone, the 2 years I spent homeless offered a great deal of perspective.
  17. I use bon voyage. It's not technically support but works for autopilot whole controlling other craft. I can't recall MJ2 rover interface but seem to recall a speed lock. Same with plane where you can maintain current course. GITHUB bug reports said to hold 'alt' when you select drive
  18. 95% approval rating on steam.. recent reviews too. That brings a twinkle to Jebs eyes.. or no that was just the exhaust fumes. But still brings me joy to see KSP1 stand for so long
  19. This was an interesting read. Lead at Larian saying gamers just want to have open communication & don't want to be "marketed" to. https://www.gamesradar.com/games/baldur-s-gate/larian-publishing-director-says-marketings-dead-because-players-dont-want-to-be-bamboozled-and-we-learned-that-with-baldurs-gate-3/ I enjoyed it and found the irony a bit poignant.
  20. I just started an playthrough of this for my interstellar experience And *outer planets mod to ease my interstellar transition I also have *Planetary Bases *Tokomak Industries Refurbished For the Colony / Space Station experience. The TKR has inflatable habitats that are kind of cool. *Civilian Population Is a rather large mod that tries to simulate the Colony Management aspect. You get pasts for greenhouses & schools and can combine with life support for some intense management play. I use it because the late game allows kerbals to breed, go to school, join the agency, die of old age More onto the resource management for a Colony experience. There is *Extraplanetary Launchpads which adds a complex system of fabrication. Various different resource production chains go into making "Rocket parts" which you can use to fabricate & launch from a few different specific "launch capability parts" I think there are some that can be deployed from the inventor system of KIS *Kerbal inventorysystem adds tools & and an EVA construction on top of the DLC construction. It is a separate Inventory system but I think several mods use it as a dependency. I also like *OSE which adds more resource to manufacturing chains Near Future is quite large with all the various NF mods and dependencies. Learning all the new parts was too much for me.. for Interstellar travel I use *Interstellar Warp Drive Standalone *FTL (Linux guru Gamer) Adds a couple parts. Warp drives allow you to get their and drop a beacon. Later tech advancements unlock instant transport via FTL later on. Really loved the dynamic for a few parts To increase my immersion on the science collections I play with a couple more mods that help my colony experience. *Cacteye refocused *Moar station Science These adds telescopes and a few different Science parts.
  21. The fact the the UI cannot be successfully used without MASSIVE frustrations in vanilla.. is a sign that it is inferior. Just my opinion but like other aspect of KSP2.. the UI merely looks pretty but failed on the functionality tests. The parts manager containing tons of parts without any tweakables, toggles, stats, etc is another thing I cite as the UI being inferior
  22. The Brave Firsters Leeboo Kerman was an adventurer, or so she told herself ten thousand times that day. She would repeat it to herself every time the frigid bone numbing cold threatened her grip, she repeated it every time the bitter wind would howl up from the deep chasms below. The damnable wind was a dogged foe, one that did not rest. The mountain was resolute and domineering but totally indifferent to her plight. It cared not if she reached the summit or failed miserably. The wind, however, was a nasty and bitter enemy determined to pluck her from the cliff and see if she could fly. Though it had never been proven, she was pretty certain she couldn’t. She took each gust she faced as a challenge, a dare to ascend higher. With every shiver and icy step, her resolve hardened like the permafrost beneath her boots. Minutes bled into hours before Leeboo spied a suitable spot. A jagged section of stone protruded out beyond a crevice in the rock wall. With a grunt of effort she leveraged her body against the immutable cliff face and up into sheltered recess. There within the barest of sanctuaries, Leeboo took out a bar of Flooyds Crunchy Crunch and let her mind wander. She thought of legends like Kirby Mckerman and the famous Kinity Kermin. These individuals are what Leeboo liked to think of as the “Firsters”. The Illustrious vanguard of the incredibly brave. Pioneers who etched their names into the annals of history with the ink of audacity. With the vigor of her idles coursing through her veins, Leeboo clambered out of the crevice and set her eyes toward the summit. The peak loomed as a silent sentinel against the cobalt sky. Its apex was a beacon to her unyielding spirit. Eeach meter she scaled was a testament to he tenacity. This was a dance with danger that only a TRUE kerbal would perform. Eventually, Leeboo crested the ledge and her vertical ascend was through. All that was left was a short but steep path of uneven ice and loose scree. Shortly upon the path to the tippy top, Leeboo Stumbled. Her foot slipped on some loose rocks and she tumbled into a drift. As she stumbled to her feet and began to regain her bearings, she noticed a translucent veil of frost. Something had been uncovered when she disturbed the loose rocks. She gasped and she noticed a weird face beneath the ice, a tentacled face. There were hands, and arms! It looked like the famed Kerakaen of old myth and legend. One of the Sky People documented through cave painting by neolithic Kerbals! In that moment her heart beat like a thunderous drum. Leebo realized her name would go down in those books next to her heroes. With eyes wide and excitement granting renewed vigor, Leeboo search for her pick.
