Bej was agreeing with you, stating it was on Mech to provide proof instead of defaulting to telling you to search Discord.
Yep i quoted the wrong person. Thanks for pointing it out.

The burden of evidence is on you, and as much as I agree with your stance I can't stand it when people tell someone to use Discord's *************************************************** search engine instead of taking the five seconds to upload the relevant evidence to Imgur and embed it.
Edit: Quoted the wrong person here. SORRY! Bej is reinforcing by argument

The layoffs aren't technically effective until the 28th of June. So the staff very well could still be in the office working until then.
True, but if someone is going to make a stemement as fact and provide zero evidence of it, then I have no faith in their claim. If the pictures are on some other site then share them here. I shouldn't need to go hunt for them. You made the claim...now provide the evidence to back it up,

Its on Discord, search for Dakota's posts.
Nope. Dakota hasn't been employed at IG or, as far as I know, at PD for months. I don't care what his LinkedIn says (which says he is OPEN TO WORK). Show me recent photos of the team hard at work. Show me screenshots WITH DATES they were posted and by whom they were posted.

No, IG is still in the office and working, as strange as that situation normally would be. Staff have posted selfies of themselves in the office stil.
Where? Post a link to the pics.

The engagement didn't just drop after EA, it was going down for years. I can't say that it happened because of CMs and mod team's actions, but I saw more than enough of "I got into an argument with a shill, got a warning and didn't bother acknowledging it, just abandoning the forum" comments on Reddit. Somebody really wanted to create an echo chamber.
Correct. And there was a single mod here that facilitated the culture of "be positive or be gone". I even commented months ago that if the devs and Nate wanted real feedback they should engage the reddit sub instead of this corporate controlled forum. Dead silence and a temp ban

You got us. We were in on it all along. High five everybody, another clean sweep of a game community!
And this folks is the reason why the community engagement here dropped significantly after EA. "If you don't have anything nice to say about the studio or the devs, then your criticism doesn't matter. You're just a hater and a shill."
There are just as many toxic supporters in this community as there are those that question the decisions of the studio and the developer.

No. Quit hitching your bandwagon onto these kind of posts. You are simply getting played by marketing.

There may be some news after the official office closure date at the end of June. Otherwise, we likely won't hear the truth for a couple of years, until the NDAs either run out or people stop caring about them. In the meantime we'll likely get unconfirmed second-hand answers as "FriendDA" stories leak.
I would be absolutely shocked if they give this to a third studio. Just my opinion, but I think they are just going to squat on the IP and never do anything with with it.

His idea for a KSP sequel is to take his space game that became so popular because of its focus on space physics, and gut the space physics part. Not worth a second thought. I can see why Squad opted to ignore it and continue with KSP 1 instead. If he was head of Star Theory and did something like a *proper* sequel, you can bet he would have made worse decisions in shorter spans of time.
That's some pretty wild speculation.

You're talking about existing players. I'm talking about potential new buyers of the game, whose purchase could fund future development work. Recent reviews showing as "overwhelmingly negative" would be very off-putting to potential new buyers, so it's very hard to get a wave of new buyers giving positive reviews. While it's theoretically possible to climb up out of that hole, e.g. people could change their existing reviews, that's quite a rare event.
This. Why the hell would anyone trust a publisher that has had ZERO communication with the community they sold this steaming pile to? If they had a plan to resurrect this turd then they would have announced it the same week they put in the WARN notice for IG.
It's dead Jim.

Yep. Just ignore everything that happend. If IG launches their next EA game just throw money at them. Because "Taco Bell got your order wrong". Who cares. Just give them the money!
Maybe you missed the memo, but IG doesn't exist anymore. Take2 saw the sales numbers, the millions they dumped into a studio that produced garbage at launch and said "nah....we're out". Is Take2 willing to try again with a dev team up to the task? Who knows. Just like everything with Take2 and IG the communication has been complete $hit. If they had solid plans in place to make that happen it would have been announced already.
This is why you don't buy into EA titles with as many red flags we saw prior to launch.
-
All this discussion about a dead game. Just move on. Forget it ever existed. Taco Bell got your order wrong, but you are already home. Just eat the garbage food you were given and deal with it. Go to bed.

No, @VITASjust needs to update the cert.
This. Not a big deal. Just needs to get it updated and all back to normal.

There's some fairly high profile people, in the space community who are players and supporters of Kerbal Space Program. So it's a potential hornets nest for sure, given that none of these people are affiliated with, or work in the games industry but do command a sizeable audience, on Twitter.
Rofl. No. These people have zero influence over the studio, the publisher or this game. Take2 is the only entity that can save this train wreck and they, as well as IG have been radio silent.

Yes on the short term but it is not the main driving factor.
It is all about the share price, its volatility and the dividends. And some mythology.
Well if you know the answer then why ask the question? Garbage EA release, complete lack of communication, beyond slow development..... should I continue? It isn't exactly a secret why it failed. The community has been telling them for over a year to get their head out of their collective asses.

You are just making an assumption that is IG. We already know there was a separate unannounced product in development but we have zero idea who or how many people were working on it, if it was a separate team, etc.
Also PD supposedly has 5 floors worth of office space at that location. 70 people is not 5 floors worth of office space .
That unannounced project almost definitely would have been cut first over KSP2. So unless you actually know that locations internal structure and headcount, you don’t actually know anything.
IG did not occupy the entire building. There are multiple companies leasing space there not just IG.

Yes.
There are many sites that have reports that this is happening, put up in the last 24 hours.
But where better to confirm than on this forum?
Being sure of truth, not conjecture, can be hard in todays internet.

Government listing TakeTwo layoff/closure for Seattle location. Take Two has only 1 studio in Seattle and that is Intercept Games

Did you try googling for any news about Intercept Games?

This was an interesting read. Lead at Larian saying gamers just want to have open communication & don't want to be "marketed" to.
I enjoyed it and found the irony a bit poignant.
Larian really did everything right with BG3. They went into EA with a solid foundation and plenty of content. They listened to the community and improved every aspect of the game before release. I truly hope they don't shift into bad guy mode after their success. We've seen it so many times with other studios.

Now, Thats the Point where i started to hate my own predictions.
I saw the writing on the wall after the first patch. Well that and the complete lack of any meaningful communication. It really is a shame what they have done to the IP.

Anyone still supporting this company or the publisher needs to get a grip. Why the hell would anyone believe Dakota, Nate or Take2 or possibly PD again? Nate is a great used car salesman, but a lousy PR guy or CM.

Whis is it.. complaining about the lack of any comment from the developers of KSP2?
OR .. Disregard that there is some form of comment and personally attack the character of someone on the Team?
I have made my skepticism about creative direction known, but i try to avoid situations where I try to have it both ways. All of the above. If you think for a minute that we have had adequate communication over the last year then you are delusional. The trend continues. That post was made by their social media account...not a dev...not a CM...not a manager. Just some poor person tasked with putting out more PR BS.

Check Intercept discord #announcments
Still at work. Can't talk about it.
That's great. Where is the announcement on a platform they own like this forum as well as their official Reddit sub? What a excrements company. Probably just Nate on Discord chugging beers trying to save his job.
