  1. I made progress on my long term-ish project named Project DebDeb: - I finished sending up all the satellites around all the planets and creating their respective orbits (I know there’s not commnet but I like to feel nostalgic) -I finished designing the orbital fuel stations which not only turned out to be surprisingly light but also able to be sent up in one piece. - I built the Jupiter IV (the name comes from a little thing I did back in KSP 1) and had a static fire on the runway. Unfortunately, it likes to rapidly disassemble itself upon the engine firing. And sometimes just when I can see it. I only have one goal for this mission. To send up the mothership in one piece. So far it has gone against my goals but we’re getting there…
  2. @Heretic391 You better give them your Dres station (or any of your other stuff). There is no way something as impressive as that wouldn't be featured.
  3. I agree with this one. I was confused on what the point of even adding charring effects was if I barely get to see them at all.
  4. "This man... he's bent on destroying the universe (or his PC)... There's no stopping him."
  5. Just do what I did and crash directly into the planet! If you wish hard enough, maybe you'll slow down just enough to deploy your parachute during reentry! (That was a fun mission)
  6. I have some bad news for you... But that's exactly what Jool is going for. And I personally love it's new look.
  7. Hansel and Gretel in space. Now THAT's a book I would read.
  8. I sometimes press period to speed up a youtube video. Then I'm so confused and think that the game is bugging out again, only to realize that I haven't played KSP or KSP 2 since Friday.
  9. I started building project DebDeb (totally original name) on my science campaign Project DebDeb is essentially a giant interplanetary (and interstellar if you really want it to be) ship that is both reusable and comfortable. The ship itself is actually the last step of the project, though. Right now I’m sending fuel stations into orbit of all the planets for refueling without having to go back to Kerbin. The next step would be to send Netflix satellites (that’s what I called my satellite network back in KSP 1) for communication between each planet. Then I will assemble the ship itself and eventually send up the landers and the space plane. Not my biggest project (that would be the Jupiter Series in KSP 1) but it’ll be a fun challenge none the less.
  10. I did it once after installing Blackrack's cloud mod in KSP 1. Mixed with all the other visual mods, it was beautiful.
  11. Weird thing is... we used to have at least two sizes of the standard monopropellant RCS motor back in KSP 1 That and the fact that you have all the time in the world, or the galaxy at that note, to turn around. Eh, I wouldn't put it past the community.
  12. (This was more yesterday but whatever) I decided to go to Duna (Cause I haven’t been to the poles yet) after a painstakingly long and pointless mission to find some Easter eggs on Kerbin. My Duna mission, however, was one of the stupidest I had ever done in KSP 1 or 2. Long story short I made one of the oldest mistakes that KSP has ever seen (other than maybe misfired staging). I forgot my heat shield on the lander. I had to burn manually as to avoid reentry and wasted a ton of deltaV. I did eventually land though. The problem was I only had about 1200 meters of deltaV left and I didn’t particularly feel to strongly about reverting all the way back to the VAB so I prepared a transfer window and was fully prepared to recreate the events of The Martian. The transfer window I got was actually really good and I managed to get a decent intercept with Kerbin, but I didn’t have enough fuel to get back into orbit and I couldn’t aero brake efficiently enough because, again, no heat shield. I simply changed my trajectory and opted to crashing directly into the planet. I had planned to go into the sea but everything I was doing was on the dark side so I was headed at 3000 meters per second towards a mountain range. I was going downwards much too fast and just couldn’t deploy my drogues before the reentry was up so I did it during the reentry. And… despite all odds… I did manage to land safely back on Kerbin. Was it worth it? Probably not. Did it feel pretty cool? Absolutely. Jeb is a trooper.
  13. One word: ... hype Honestly! Haven't you given us enough?! The update comes out in 4 DAYS... Why do you guys have to make it feel like 4 YEARS.
  14. Well... You can't exactly expect to travel to a place like Debdeb with, say, an RS-25. So you will be forced to use the tech if you want to travel to the other systems.
  15. I imagine you can use these engines in the system but... why would you want to? Things like laser fusion engines would take up more time and resources than YOUR time and resources is worth. You may have a ridiculously powerful and efficient engine that is (conceptually) able to reach near-light speeds within a few years or so but the other thing to take into account is weight. Weight is everything on a rocket, and you just slapped an engine bigger than the Saturn V on the back of your interplanetary shuttle. It's just not worth it to add something that heavy to something that's only going to, say, Eeloo. And, I mean, just LOOK at this thing...
  16. Well, shooting stars go through reentry so... If no one on the planet has ever seen a shooting star then no, we would not know what reentry looks like. We can get a pretty good estimation of what it looks like from the ground so don't exactly count that out.
  17. Yup, what a challenge to do BEFORE they fix wobbly rockets. A (potentially) giant interplanetary vessel we have to assemble in orbit. Truly a before and after for the next update... ... Eh, why not? Let's do this!
  18. It would also be pretty cool if one of the variants was completely covered. It would look better with mostly methalox tanks.
  19. Yeah, he did the cloud work and atmosphere scattering for patch 0.15
  20. Yeah, probably. I mean, there can't be science designed for the Kerbolar system in, say, Debdeb. They are most definitely going to add new parts made for these other features.
