For lava, it might be possible to just exploit the vanilla heating system and apply a certain amount of heat when the craft is <= the planetary sea level, and then just make the lava custom water.

In theory, that should just work, though you'd theoretically get a possible situation of being "splashed down" in a lava ocean, which might lead to some funny science reports.

I Can make a lava ocean produce heat. The issue is looks and texturing, as the base game doesn't have lava textures, and the scaled version won't glow, even with EmissiveFX.

  2. JFA got an honourable mention (not too special, considering I nominated it) in may's TOTM! I'm incredibly glad to you, the users of my creation. I'll try to make it playable.

2 Stars, 1 Planet, OUT NOW.

( Yes, I said 2 in the development update, but lava is a PAIN to implement. I'll fix up the existing issues instead of adding new ones. Fixing the main bugs comes next  update, ( like Ilnixe's flare,  @Superpluto126, ) followed by moons and proper science experiment definitions. )

  3. Hello.

I am making a planet pack, and am in the process of creating some new stars.

One of them should be a whitish-blue, however, since the stock flare is tinted yellow, it is really difficult to add a star of that colour.

I do not want to add Scatterer or other visual mods as a dependency.

If you have a solution for this issue, please tell me.

    Thank you!

  4. JFA DEVELOPMENT UPDATE 2

    Good Day, Fellow Kerbals!

As You May Know, JFA Is Currently A Buggy, Unstable, Unplayable, And Boring Mess.

I'm Looking To Change That In v0.4.0, By Making It More Unique.

We Currently Plan To Add 2 New "Stars" To The Pack, However They Are Only Currently In A Buggy Beta Phase Of Development. Either Way, I Feel I Should Share Them With And JFA Players Who May Want To Know:

    1OJpdyn.png

ÆIXE Is A Bright White Star, Holding The Entire System Of IXE Together. It Is Orbited By One, Fiery And inhospitable World, As Well As A Mysterious Wormhole. (Pictured Center)

NYTIXE Is A Bright, Hot Brown Dwarf That Is Nearly Large Enough To Be Considered A Red Dwarf, However It Falls Just Short. In Orbit Of It Is A Small Gas Giant.  (Pictured In Purple)

ILNIXE ...You Should Know What This Is.

Anyways, Here's The Most Recent Obligatory Teaser For JFA...

" Taken From The CUBE Space Telescope Is A Recent Photo Of Brown Dwarf Star "Nytixe." "

And That's Just The Stars! We're Adding More Moons In 0.4.0, Though I'm Not Going To Spoil Them All Just Yet. I'll Only Tell You That Mystin Is Getting A Moon Named "Minin."

Finally, I'm Fixing A Bunch Of Bugs, Including Adding Science Definitions. If You Come Across Any, Let Me Know So I Can Fix Them.

    Thanks For Playing!

I Personally suggest making them original rather than making them like Proxima Centauri.

Thanks For The Vote! I'd Like To Clarify That By "Making It More Like Proxima Centauri," I More Meant The Dynamic Type Of The Alpha Centauri System, As In Adding More Stars Revolving Around A Central Star In That Area.

Cool! I like the new planet, it's always nice to have a habitable world in the mix. My only complaint is that shouldn't the waters be green with all the algae in the ocean? Especially if it's infested with the stuff. Besides that though, pretty nice! Can't wait for the next one!

yeah, thats the plan. one issue: I forgot (0.3.1 prob)

    PS: Later

  7. JFA DEVELOPMENT UPDATE 1

We're Almost Done, Though We Still Have A Few Bugs To Work Out...

  8. I have made an ocean planet in KSP, and it has the below issue. I've searched the internet, but I can't find any answers. I can't see any issues in my CFG, because it's still very close to Laythe's. Please help!

Note 2: It seems to be a PQS issue, as the land under the ocean has the same issue. It only occurs in near proximity to the craft. Reloading the mesh in Kittopia fixes it, though that doesn't work for the main issue.

For a beginner: Perhaps use exactly 50% gray as your midpoint, where sea level should sit. (If you know better, you don't have ot do this.) Also ensure that your heightmap uses the entire grayscale: 0 (black) ~ 100% (white). I don't know for sure but you may have problems if you don't do this.

And another thing: There's terrain deformity and terrain offset. Your offset might be too high of a positive value which is why your water is all underground.

Alright, I've managed to get it to the exact same height as the ground, but it won't go any heigher. Quick question, which of the offset/deformity values do you mean?
