I was going to continue and build Jump Beacons all over the system and use the Manned Jump Drive to go to Moho but decided to not play the game. I just don't feel like it right now. I will just be watching the episodes I've missed in the Interstellar Quest of Scott Manley on YouTube.
-
I have two sci-fi ship that I love:
The X304
And the Destiny
Yes Stargate Fan here!
-
I make rover and other ship with wheel all the time and even some of them are SSTO too.
This one was able to go to Minmus and return after a long drive.
-
The Warp Drive docked with the carrier and will warp soon to Moho.
"Everyone go back to your seats and fasten you seat belts for the first departure of the Interplanetary Warp Ship."
-
Today I used the RAPIER engine for something other than a spaceplane SSTO. I made a lander and landed on the Mun with the Original 3.
And one of my Warp Drive Beacon arrived at Moho.
I'm preparing the ship with the Warp Drive in orbit around Kerbin at the moment and will make the Jump pretty soon.
-
I didn't bothered with them, in career mode they give you almost no science points and in sandbox they are useless. So I left them there, zipping around.

Since I'm waiting for the new update, I started a new sandbox game with new mods. Today I sent a couple of Warp Drive Beacons to space, one is orbiting the Mun, another is going to Moho. I built a lander and a carrier that will hopefully dock to the Warp Drive (already built in the VAB, not yet launched).
This is the lander with it's carrier.

After breathing a sigh of relief with the completion of my grand tour mission, I have decided not to undertake anything massive with 0.24 on the horizon. However, there is a design I conjured up and I really wanted to see it fly, so here; the Ulysses class cruiser:
--- images ---
I will very likely be rebuilding this ship in 0.24, although it'll have to wait as I am going to be playing career this time round. This has served as a useful test flight, and all signs are pointing me to one thing; MOAR STRUTS. It's a bit more wobbly than I'd like, but that's easily fixed. At least she got to spread her wings
Nice ship, I see you're using Leucomes Engines, good to see people still using this Engine.

Random stuff I made in 0.23.5.

I gave it a try couple of minutes ago and it works like a charm! I really like the way it works and less complicated than the Interstellar warp drive. The blue sphere of energy effect is cool but I think its too quick to charge and warp. I had barely the time to see the effect that I was already at the warp beacon.
Overall I like it and will take a closer look at the progression of this mod.

I don't really care if it breaks or not the saves because I start from scratch at every new update of the game. Also people should learn to make backups of the game and not update their game if it's save breaking. Just make a second install of the game and test it out.
-
I don't think I will ever quit KSP, I mean how can I quit space? For goodness sake, it's SPACE!!!
I may take breaks of couple of months here and there but I'll always come back.
-
More boosters! Really? True Kerbals go to space with Ion Engines only!
-
It taught me that my hard drive from my laptop is not fast enough.

I was thinking about a name for the update the other day and thought the "Tycoon Update" would be a cool name. I was glad to see "Space Tycoon" in the list to chose from.
By the way, is the single choice answer in the survey intended? Because in the question what language do you use the most I was about to answer English and French (I use them everyday) but instead decided for the French answer.

I only remember, the first version I played did not have struts and the only thing that would attach radially were SRB's... what version was that?
That would be the 0.8 version, Stacked, I guess.
EDIT: The 0.9 was when the struts arrived.
-
hard to beat.
That's what I showed to my friends when they didn't know about KSP, unfortunately none of them play the game or are not interested.
But I love this video.
-
Interesting naming and it makes sense, been here since the "Released".
-
Oooh I like that design! Double rings and a saucer section that looks like a ship coming from Star Trek.
-
It did have an expansion pack feel to it, and expansion packs are usually reserved for after a 1.0 release. But I can't see this happening:
NASA: We like your space game. Let us collaborate on a NASA themed expansion pack.
SQUAD: No, you have to wait for 1.0 before we'll do any expansions. It will be ready SoonTM.
Exactly the way I think, the ARM update isn't a DLC or expansion, it's part of the stock game. Even the Dev (Harvester I think) said that they made some changes in the core code to implement the new mechanics of the ARM update.

Oooooh so it's true! The legendary Golden Kerbal, King of Kings really exist! Epic!

One update ago I builded a Mun lander on career mode. The thing is, during the building phase, I wasn't paying attention to the total Dv of my ship. I launched and made Kerbin orbit with ease, planed àmaneuver point to the Mun, orbited the Mun and landed. Pretty much the usual thing I do. What I hadn't planed was to launch a couple of kilometers and land at a different place, to get more science. And then I looked at my Dv left, I hadn't enough to get bat to Kerbin but I launched anyway and escaped the Mun directly placing myself at a trajectory to Kerbin that entered the atmosphere at around 60km. It wasn't enough to slow me down to get captured by the atmosphere. I made a couple of orbits before I was completely caught by the atmosphere. I splashed down on the ocean of Kerbin with parachutes minutes later with 0m/s of Dv left.
The way I did my launch from the Mun to escape the Mun and enter the Kerbins atmosphere was a bold move but saved alot of Dv (I never do that normally). And everything was guesswork, I didn't calculate anything during this mission. Oh and by the way, Bob Kerman was the one piloting the ship.

What I miss was the list of "planned features" for a specific update that were posted at the beginning of each update cycle.
Harv would post this list in black font then highlight in green each feature that was finalized. Anyone who was here around 0.13-0.18 will remember that.
Here's an old example: http://archive.today/EmO4
Nowadays the list of features is vague or non-existent. If a feature gets pushed back, then that's what happens but it seems that right now it's a random set of features that come and go as development progresses.
Yes those were the good old days and the best Dev communications. I remember when C7, Harvester and other Devs posted regularly on the forum for each update. We use to get screenshots from new stuff that we would get, even strange images that would excite the community for weeks (like NovaSilisko used to do).

The only real canon that I see from the game and the animation video we have every other major update is that Kerbals are curious, they like to joke, compete between them and mostly, dreamers. Some of them are intelligent others aren't (just like we humans mostly).
I believe they are united and always together for the greater goal. So no warmongers like humans.
