Guys, if you keep bringing politics into the thread after two moderators have reminded you not to, we have to start deleting, editing, and infracting, as we have just done in this thread.
Go slow, and build wide and low. That's pretty much all one can do. A few of mine as examples: Even those will flip at times, though, depending on speed, terrain, and local gravity.
I liked the idea of Emperor of the Fading Suns, but the AI opposition was practically inert, so I didn't play it much. The game, that is. I love the soundtrack music and still play it.
Much of this guy's science fiction is based around the idea that hyperintelligence would be inherently altruistic. I don't find his argument entirely convincing, but it certainly is an unusual and interesting take on the subject.
Most of my station modules dock themselves initially, using an upper-launch stage with then de-orbits itself. But I also have large and small module-moving tugs for re-arranging modules after their initial attachment.
