Well if I try to put the VTOL motors straight the whole plane does a front flip and explodes.

If I try to put motors on the back to counteract the backward thrust the rocket flips and explodes.

Well then, you just gotta place em at the right angle and precisley- ah what the heck good job.

Not really. The Jets must breath air, that is an altitude limit in and of itself since even the turbojet quits at 18,000 to 19,000 meters. I did not say fastest speed using rockets (someone broke light speed), but fastest speed with jet engines. Those only work so high.

E.F Kranz I\'d like to ask (politely) how you land on the Mun in map view, how do you do that when the altimeter doesn\'t show distance to surface?

Bear in mind some people are new and don\'t know how to circularise an orbit, or that they\'re just wasting fuel heading west from Kerbin unless their mission requires it.

I go 90 degrees, get a 100km by 100km orbit, and when the mun rises, i burn prograde.

thats the easy way to get to the mun.

I know you or Nova said that KSC facilities won\'t be scaled up, but what about the launchpad? Seeing as the more powerful stock rockets can be quite big, if the launchpad is not scaled up, then we will have some design troubles (and most rockets will stand taller than the tower).
