  1. Hi, I was wondering what peoples thoughts on the ETA of KSP on PS4 was, or if theres was any information on the subject. I know I know KSP on consoles "boo blah boo" whatever. I started playing KSP probably about four years ago now but haven't been able to play for about the last year due to a shot PC so I haven't even been able to enjoy 1.0. However I have a PS4 and greatly anticipate the release even if I have to buy the game again as KSP is one of my favorite things. (up there with TES IV Oblivion... /Fallout 4 hype). Thanks.

  2. Well, you have to keep in mind that the SteamController isn't primarily intended to be used instead of keyboard and mouse in a typical gaming PC setup.

This is literally the opposite of what they've stated. The SteamBox is a typical gaming PC setup...

  3. You will be able to use the steam controller like a mouse (think: non-crappy notebook touchpad for your thumb with haptic feedback).
Once again, you don't need another UI since the steam controller can replace mouse input. And if a hardcore strategy game dev says that its cool for his strategy game (and possibly even for fast paces micro intensive stuff like starcraft) you can bet playing ksp with it would be no problem.

I don't think most people are understanding this controller, hopefully that will change when it goes more public.

    jfx gets it.

People shouldn't be afraid of new things, the whole idea behind the design of the controller is it has the abilities of keyboard and mouse but with the benefits of a gamepad with even better tactile feedback.

  4. I wanted to know how everyone felt about playing KSP on the Steam Controller since they've said every game on Steam will be supported. Can they make a gamepad capable of supporting KSP's complex input requirements? I like the idea and hope they can pull it off, it's looking awesome to me, I can't wait to get my hands on one. I really think the design is so good it may even be better to use than keyboard+mouse.

I haven't seen a post about this, so sorry if there has been any already.

    Thank you, now discuss!

  5. Your best choice (the computer I was going to buy n now will have to wait for restock) is sold out for a reason... ASUS

    3rd Generation Intel® Core™ i5-3230M 2.6GHz (3MB Cache, up to 3.2GHz w/ Turbo Boost 2.0)

    NVIDIA 2GB GTX 660M GDDR5

    8GB Dual Channel DDR3 at 1600MHz

    750GB 5,400 RPM SATA 3Gb/s

    $800

  6. The "Kerhemoth Crane" by RedKosmos at the bottom of page 267 is probably the best thing I've seen in the entire game as of yet, and I've been blown away before by what people have come up with. It just keeps getting better!

  7. If you have, for instance, five Mainsails (four on booster stages and one in the middle) it is often beneficial to shut off the gimballing on the outer four engines in order to prevent your rocket from shaking too much. Basically you want to shut off gimballing on an engine when it would be over-correcting too much. 0.21 will probably alleviate that problem entirely.

    This......

  8. If you want you can send me private messages if you have a question, I usually check the forums several times a day, so my responses should be quick. I've been playing the game about a year now, and think I could answer most questions in a pretty straight forward way.

    GG

EDIT: As Caelib stated Scott Manley's videos should answer most questions you might have, but if you don't want to go through an hour of video to answer one quick question or if you have a specific question that remains unanswered please feel free to message me!

  9. How the heck did you put that spaceplane down on the Mun on and get back again! Since it does not look like a VTOL.

Not doubting you did it... just want to know how.

I think you mean the landing, right? I see two ways but have only achieved the easier of them, that being to put Mechjeb landing auto pilot on and then just before touching down hitting W to level it out while turning off Mechjeb. The second is pretty much a standard plane landing but backwards/ in reverse if you know what I'm saying.

Also to the OPer extremely impressive!

  10. I wonder how the asteroid belt nova mentioned will be implemented. I think we all picture it being like star wars, but if he did it realistically then wed have to plan ahead to run into and look at the asteroids.

This is an interesting consideration! Reminds me of hearing old space explorers/engineers saying before Pioneer 10 they weren't sure if they could even make it through the asteroid belt only to find the chances of colliding with an asteroid is truly astronomical (pun intended). Empire Strikes Back RULES!
