  1. No control unit - unwanted. It's that simple. At least for me, because why would you need a thing you can not control?
  2. The ground crew that cleans up the vicinity of KSC would be very useful. I could finally have the debris option turned back on without running the risk of low fps every rocket launch, and could watch my Kessler ring grow around the planet.
  3. From his SP+ thread. I think he meant the stock landing gear, because there's no current landing gear in the mod itself. But I might be wrong of course.
  4. A mission required going to the South Pole, so I decided I would build a new plane and go there. Named it Firefox. And no, Clint Kerman wasn't piloting it. Anyway, the mission paid out, but due to someone's incompetence during landing, our brave pilots got stranded. I'm considering adapting that thing to be able to go in space. Would make a nice SSTO IMO.
  5. Was about to ask the same question.
  6. You know, warping when being attached to the surface of a planet or in atmosphere is never a good idea. Anyway, just found this mod and I hope it's still being worked on. Jump drive seems like a nice end goal for career mode.
  7. Ok, so my poor guess about deformable parts is not valid anymore. And I don't see any impact craters on the pics, either. What I see though is the old landing gear, which PorkJet said he was going to rework and the old tail section. Hopefully that's going to be remodelled and will make it into .25. Right? RIGHT? EDIT: Oh, and I like the new explosions.
  8. Does that centrifuge actually works and you can walk inside of it?
  9. I remember someone saying (PorkJet?) about the IVAs. He said some other person helped him with transfering them from old to the new models. I think it was in some devnote, don't remember which one, tho.
  10. I think the same. Not really expecting any of those things I suggested, but rather trying to give away as many ideas as I can come up with, so other people can contribute to the speculation I made, thus proving something is probable or not.
  11. The big project of the whole team was going through all the parts and redesigning them. There's a word or two from Dan about that. And he said it was pretty big and won't have much time to do any cinematics because of that, IIRC. Don't remember in which dev note it was, though. So if it's about parts it's probably deformable parts, or some sort of other damage effects. And I'm not thinking about the landing legs, solar panels but actual fuel tanks and engines bending or getting black after taking too much of reentrey heat. That's just one of my many guesses, though. EDIT: Here it is I think the "Three artists" here are meant to be NovaSilisko, ClairaLyrae and C7. AFAIK C7 made the big ARM parts, the plane parts and the Mk1-2 pod, Nova and Claira the other medium and small rocket and probe stuff.
  12. Not 100% sure, but I don't think you will get sued by SQUAD for modifying a .cfg
  13. I still think tweakable suspension would fix many things.
  14. I use IJKL. In response to "go slower or add more weight": I appreciate those tips, but if SQUAD devs made the suspension softer it would fix many things wrong with low-gee driving. And it doesn't make much sense to add ballast decreasing dV of the craft carrying the rover. Also those little, grey wheels seem to behave differently(better than the rest).
  15. I just put a rover on the Mun. How frustrated I was after realising I can't get farther than 150 meters away from the base! The way the wheels slip is sooooo ridiculous! 11 m/s and it feels like instead on regolith you drive on ice! Although I wouldn't call the thing that happens after hitting the speed 'driving'. And it's not the first time I notice this behaviour. On Duna: Same thing. Already lost 2 rovers there. I remember I once installed Bobcat mod. The wheels there behaved WAY better than the stock ones. Though the slippy behaviour might be due the fact I use medium terrain detail, I still feel like they were tested on Kerbin in 1G behaviour only, while in developement. The rovers work fine only there. What am I doing wrong? Am I the only one pissed off here?
  16. Here's how to build a nice-looking rover in the VAB. From left to right: Step 1: Put 2 beams in 2-symmetry mode Step 2: Use the I-beam as a wheel axle (Has to be in 1-symmetry mode!) Step 3: Attach the wheels in 2-symmetry mode to the beam Step 4: Grab the beam and use 2-symmetry mode and attach it like the next 2 pictures show. Step 5: *pic* Step 6: *pic* Step 7: Build a skycrane Step 8: Rotate the whole thing (use Shift-left click if you can't find the rover's probe) and attach a docking port or a probe to avoid being annoyed by the reverse steering. Just right-click on the port/probe on the launch pad and select "Control from here" Don't forget to strut the whole craft so it doesn't wobble itself apart.
  17. I've been asked how do I put my rovers up in space, so I decided to make this tutorial. It's nothing special, but some people might find it helpful I hope. Every picture will be a single step.
  18. Here's an oldie of mine. from like a year ago. Still sitting there over Laythe in the sandbox save. Gotta remake it at some point. In the career save this time. Hopefully 3.6 millions of the agency budget is enough to do so.
  19. Ok, then. My bad. Wasn't informed enough. Some sort of emergency services building, then?
  20. I don't think the new building has anything to do with the secret feature. Even if it does, what's so fun about it, and why good players won't encounter it's features?
  21. Is it? You mean the small one on the control tower itself? It's pretty small and seems low-range. Not sure, but many big airports have more than one radar tower.
  22. Let me take a guess about the new thingy by the runway: In my opinion it's in perfect position to scan the approach paths of landing aircarfts.
  23. Haven't sent this thing anywhere yet, but working on it. Would make a nice addition to my Mun base.
  24. Here's mine. Room for 4 kerbals. With detachable science trailer. Can be recovered even after a flip.
  25. Thank you very much! Very helpful. Will try to do all this next time I launch a rocket.
