Oh god, those things. I often imagine in some distant future, long after mankind is gone, that some alien archaeologist digging in a landfill will describe this as the AoL boundary layer.

My first time accessing the internet was back in the 80's. I got a job as an operator for a Singer mainframe computer. There wasn't much to look at. I used a typewriter work station and just type out commands onto paper and received an automated typed response back from a centralized computer in another part of the country. Back then it was all about memorizing commands, error codes and DIP switch settings.

Have we learned nothing from previous failed experiments?

Iran's Fajr satellite has decayed mysteriously

Didn't one of the missiles used during the Johnston Atoll tests detonate over the wrong island when they switch the launching and targeting islands and then forgot to reprogram the missle? -
[1.2] WIP: Civilian population development thread
Tommygun replied to michaelhester07's topic in KSP1 Mod Development
You could also have In situ Kerbal reproduction for off world colonies with this too. With all the mods for new star systems, resource gathering and off world launch pads this is the one resource you can't generate off world. Edit: I didn't see that last part of your post. The Kerbal Resource department, I guess that's where you are going with it. -
Does this mean that somewhere in the ocean there is a very hungry ten thousand year old lobster the size of a Buick?

If you mean Messier 67, I think that's been ruled out. http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2012/01/120117-sun-solar-system-born-stars-m67-space-science/ @OP As I recall, a group of scientist looking for the origin of the water in our solar system think that a large part of it formed before our Sun did. They did that by looking at concentrations of deuterium in water. So I assume there are many different ways for astronomers to estimate the solar systems age.

Are you looking for something like this? http://www.universetoday.com/108415/herschel-discovers-water-vapor-spewing-from-ceres/ http://www.nature.com/nature/journal/v505/n7484/abs/nature12918.html

Nasa doesn't transport their spacecraft in a pocket full of change and car keys. Think about all the junk you carry around or how often you drop a phone. A spacecraft shoots up into the air and into the vacuum of space. Unless something goes wrong it doesn't touch anything and space debris is still somewhat rare.

Nice video, I have to admit, I had a minor panic attack watching that guy standing so close to that pile of fireman's clothing and the radiation meter clicking like crazy. I my mind I know it's just short term exposure, but that sound still freaks me out. So If I understand this correctly, if I eat 20,000,000 bananas all at once I'll die of radiation poisoning.

Many have risked much in the pursuit of science, but none have ever risked a cavity search by the TSA. Brotoro, I wish to take a moment and thank you on behalf of the community for your service.

Wouldn't basically nothing happen, I mean literally nothing. All the electrons and any atomic movement would stop or close to it. You'd have the ultamate ice cube, but that's it.

[WIP] Minmus Mintchip Sprinkle, now with working DL.
Tommygun replied to Whirligig Girl's topic in KSP1 Mod Development
Oh, I guess I'm getting my stories mixed up. "The Little Prince" and "James and the Giant Peach". I could see some fun potential combining this with that Kerbin-Side mod. Having odd buildings or trees coming out of the side of a planet. -

Fun little project, I think I'd mod minmus into a giant peach, but that's just me. -
Iran unveils mockup of their one-man ship
Tommygun replied to xenomorph555's topic in Science & Spaceflight
I was thinking that having all the life support and service module equipment at the bottom might help act as ballast. I think some of the old Soyuz used metal ballast weights to help keep them up right during reentry. -
3 page proof of the Circle area for amateurs

I blame the Greeks for these conspiracies.............Beware of Greeks bearing circles! -
I'm curious does anyone know how long this ship would take to reach a star in the Stella star system mod? It real time and game time.

The closest you'll come to a plant would be a lichen type fungi and they have done some growth test in the Mars Simulation Laboratory. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lichen#Response_to_environmental_stress

I think I could get by with one simple prop engine an a T-6 Texan style cockpit for starting tech in career.
