Will Swing-by Technique (aka Gravity Assist) work in KSP?
Fyrem replied to CSX_Ind's topic in KSP1 Discussion
"will it work" yes. mostly. "can I figure out in advance how much my swing by Duna will effect my path so that I can exactly target my approach to Jool while still sitting at the launch pad on kerbin?" no. "why not?" Floating point calculation presission error. -
Pending impact - 36 hours to save Kerbin
Fyrem replied to SirJodelstein's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
it isn't a SHIP it is a entire save file. in your KSP folders, Saves, make a new folder called "Challenge" or something and put this file in it. run KSP, and load THIS save. -
Mods allowed or stock only? AP to match Kerbin orbit? weight of helios? or can we use any probe style/weight we care to.

ok, so, your new. welcome to KSP, and the Forums. please give the "how to post" threads a read. Also, you might want to search the forums for the word Multiplayer. here are two links, this is as good as it gets for multiplayer in KSP. http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/showthread.php/26514-Hawkinator-s-almost-multiplayer-pass-along-the-save-file-challenge-thingy http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/showthread.php/24926-0-19-Kerbal-LiveFeed-Passive-Multiplayer-Plugin-Client-Server-v0-6-2

I have never heard of the Ant's transfer electricity working in 19.x at all. as far as I can tell, none of the Bobcats Electrictiy transfer vehicals/devices work in 19.x

You can do this already, IF you are heading for something that orbits the body you are launching from (eg: launching from Kerbin, to Minmus). (sorry, I do not have KSP up right now, so doing this from memory) * in the Assent window, type in 47000 (minmus's altitude) as your desired alt. * perform a test launch. this is needed for MJ2 to calculate a "launch angle". let MJ run the entire sequence, until you have a circ orbit at 47000km. don't hit the mun. * End Flight, and RESTART flight. * Set Minmus as your target * set 47000 as your desired altitude * (note, now there is an accurate launch angle listed in the bottom of the window) * Do NOT click Launch to plane. * Click Launch to Reoudevou (I know it is spelled wrong). AND then click Enable (the button at the top of the window). * as long as you don't hit Mun on the way by, everything will be ok. * after you are 1/2 to 2/3's of the way there, you should see an Encounter with Minmus. Plan your Minmus Circ, or what ever you like. If instead you meant planet to planet (Kerbin launch directly to Duna orbit, all automated)... then er... no. MJ does not do that in 'one step' currently.

what "answer"? see, that is the point I am trying to make. Chatter isn't 'answering'... oh wait.... I see what you are trying to say. Sometimes, you hear BOTH #groundControll# speak, immedently followed by "the spaceship" speaking.... you are asking for a delay to be put in BETWEEN those two events. a delay = 2x the remotetech radio delay. I get it now: player hears Ground control "hcnul rof tnaw uoy od tahw?" [delay of remotetech x2] player hears Spaceship "eyr no mah"

Frizz, they SHOULD be that long, solar sails are (and should be) long term investments. what ever you do, please don't change that. Perhaps some Coder (not me) will offer to help.
-
oh, so you think that he belevies the Beep, or chatter, is in some way linked to a given command ? it isn't. it is on a user set timer - Eg. every 30 sec you hear a beep. giving the ship commands in no way 'causes' a beep. delayed or not. or to word it another way: 1. you hear a beep every 30 seconds. 2. you hear a beep every 30 seconds. (but what you have no way to know is that the beep you hear was delayed 2 seconds due to radio delay. but since the previous beep was deleyed by 2 seconds, you still always hear it every 30 secs.)
-
can you reduce this? perhaps poll every second, or every 100 frames instead? the Lag this does cause is very hard to deal with. EG: I want to launch what will be a tanker, but I wish to launch it with only partly filled tank (otherwise it would eat up 300t of spare parts). so I sit on the pad and burn down the fuel till I get down to about 10% full. however since the polling is draging my system down so much, this takes over 40min even with using a Mainsail to burn off the fuel.

xZise. I don't believe you correctly understand what this mod is/does. This mod adds cute voices, (garblespeak) that simulate radio chatter between a spaceship crew and ground control. - it is just cute sounds,it in no way at all effects HOW you control your ship. If used on an unmanned ship, you hear 'computer chirps' that represent a generic computer radio Ping. - it in no way at all effects HOW you control your ship. you can have this mod, AND remotetech, nothing at all changes. each work as it would be expected to.

indeed a good start.

thanks much!

THIS will be interesting to watch.

As Spatzimaus said, .. your desired orbital alt will depend on what the station is FOR, and who is intended to visit it.

..... did you share the KSP store account? .... if so, you "friend" sniped you.ps. don't do that. either that, or you already DID transfer it into you Steam account. ... so download it from steam.
