odd, i had someone tell me you dont even need a heatshield in jools atmosphere, since youd be going fast enough that youd be losing heat as fast as you gain it.

Which would prevail? The Imovable object or the Irresistible force?
Deadpangod3 replied to Aethon's topic in The Lounge
the force would go around the object. -
um, the day allied forces liberated paris from the germans in world war 2? i dont remember exactly what day it was, may something? reading just made me think of the endgame scene from call of duty 3, where the troops and tanks march into paris.

Veteran players reminisce: What was your first Munar landing like?
Deadpangod3 replied to Tex's topic in KSP1 Discussion
well um, i built my rocket like a giant towering behemoth, and it barely made it to the mun, then i started heading down through a constant unending thought of "am i gunna make it am i gunna make it am i gunna make it?" then as i got close and the ground was rushing at me i just gunned the throttle, and then had to cut it again as i had started going back up again, then i slowly throttled up every now and then to keep my velocity low, 10 m, 5 m, 2, 1, annnnd, touchdown! yesss- umm, why is it leaning? crapcrap OH CRAP!!! TIMBER!!! my lander was very tall so it fell over , and nearly every part was disconnected from each other, except the command pod (i had the guts to make my first landing manned) parachute, and advanced SAS, but jeb had survived!i got him out and walked (and face-slid) around a bit. i THINK i sent a rescue mission eventually, i dont remember for sure, i may have left poor Jeb #1 there. -
ah, the mun arch at the north edge of that crater, thats the first anomaly i found, completely by accident, and i managed to orbit through it once (never. again.)

i have that game, can confirm its very ksp like, you can build on existing space stations or build new ones, you can also ship oxygen and co2 scrubbers and such up to them. its a fictional solar system other then the earth and moon, the planets are very small though, theres a mars of sorts, alot of gas giants, and a moon of sorts for one thats kind of a very distant moon, all planets are immobile, you can recreate Apollo 11-17, build a giant space station, launch a mission to another planet, etc. i think you can land on some of the gas giants though, and you have to do the career mode to unlock pretty much all the parts except the small ones, but career is fun and challenging. oh, and whenever you have a rocket starting with the saturn V first stage, the moon is visible when you first go to launch.

Deadpangod3 replied to taniwha's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
ah, alright, thanks! -
TWR and Patched conics.
Deadpangod3 replied to cicatrix's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
it does still matter a bit, because if you have a low TWR it will take a while to complete a burn, while with a high TWR it may not take very long. -

so mks has its own parts that require this to work? -
You know you have too many asteroids tracked when...

Deadpangod3 replied to Deadpangod3's topic in KSP1 Discussion
or building a second kerbin but yeah i got carried away tracking asteroids during timewarp (was struggling to keep up) im sure they'll all be swarmming through kerbins SOI soon, btw, i have one tracked that has an apo above duna's orbit, maybe i should try and send it to duna lol edit: i reloaded a quicksave that was before my asteroid tracking spree and now im back down to 60 TRACK ALL TEH ASTEROIDS!!! - - - Updated - - - now 206 asteroids. i had a couple spawn in kerbins soi for some reason. -
when you have 151 asteroids tracked and have to force yourself to stop tracking more because theres starting to be a noticable frame decrease I already have a ship in orbit ready to catch a B class thats gunna encounter in about 14 days, i may want to launch several more
-
Ive only gone outside of kerbins soi for asteroids, and went to laythe once (never finished that mission...) in the two years that ive played KSP... i think its mainly that i think the ksc shouldnt go for years without a rocket launch. i plan to go interplanetary soon thoughl whenever EPL and KAS updates so i can build bases

the ships fuel can run out?

it appears i cant attach the remotetech dishes to the attachment node on the top of the flat 1 m probe core, it does attach radially however, none of the dishes connect to the core, when i flipped one upside down it snapped to the node, but, its upside down. hope this gets fixed. edit: ksp crashed when i tried to go to the launchpad

What should the first Mars City/Colony be called?
Deadpangod3 replied to Fr8monkey's topic in The Lounge
New Terra -
heh i was trying to launch into retrograde orbits with that one thing that flies by and then getting into a super distant orbit to survive edit: haaaayyy i just saw you
-
whats the goal of this? edit: what does this "target locked" mean and what do i do?
-
good point, so maybe its a countdown and/or a launch abort thing.
-
hmm, first time playing... build rocket, forget struts and parachutes, launch, violently explode, watch command pod just barely land intact, and wait for the booms to die down. a reminder that you forgot some parts?
