  1. I'm considering trying this challenge sometime. Maybe within a month or two. This looks really fun and I need an excuse to make a shuttle. -Rocket
  2. I started a project to vertically integrate upper stages and payloads onto landed boosters of my new rocket. The Vertical Integration Facility (VIF) turned out quite nicely. The basic building (with nothing in it) is only 120 parts! This is the first iteration of the gantry crane. It is meant to grab a stage off of a transport vehicle before climbing up to the top of the VIF. The crane will next move horizontally toward the back of the building until it is over the rocket. The stage will then be lowered onto the rocket. Also, don't mind the extra few SRBs there, those are just to connect the crane and stage together in the VAB, they won't be needed later! The first test demonstrated that the crane was not very stable. But that can be fixed by making the landing gear tighter to prevent sideways movement, right? Apparently not- uh oh. Back to the drawing board? Hopefully by next weekend I will have a more thorough plan. -Rocket
  3. My rocket was sad because it didn't have a home so I gave it one.
  4. If I'm trying to fly a craft I made months ago and can't remember the action groups, I usually start pressing random buttons and see what happens. "1" is usually engines and "3" is usually flaps (if applicable). -Rocket
  5. KSP doesn't seem dead at all. Its still a great game. Development continues, albeit slower, but that is too be expected. KSP is post 1.0, not an alpha game anymore. -Rocket
  6. I set up a relay network around Kerbin. Full Album: https://imgur.com/a/sPAMa -Rocket
  7. Graphics updates such as clouds would be nice. -Rocket
  8. On Mator's stream he just found an actual tracking dish building atop a mountain! -Rocket
  9. Woa there is more to this update than i thought! Hype! I especially like how probe cores can hibernate in warp now, that's a big quality of life improvement! -Rocket
  10. Hi, sorry for not responding sooner (busy week). Anyways, it certainly is! I have a long weekend starting now so I plan to work a lot on this save. Expect a new chapter within a week perhaps. -Rocket
  11. There should also be a "Backups" folder in your save folder that actually has recent copies of your save if the quicksave doesn't work. -Rocket
  12. They are mainly for driving at high speed and/or on rough terrain (or in this case, absorbing a large impact). The bus weighs 27 tons so those rover wheels cant take much abuse. -Rocket
  13. I drop tested my bus... Kerbal style. In the unlikely event that it is driven off a cliff, this bus is equipped with emergency parachutes to ensure a safe landing. Perfect! Just ignore those broken bits there. -Rocket
  14. Today in RocketPilot's space program: Mike Kerman contemplated his life choices. Claugee Kerman had trouble landing the K-104. Buzz Kerman found himself in a tight spot. A high speed jet flew too fast. And this Kerbal simply had a bad day.
  15. Hi, pictures of these crafts would be helpful. I suspect your higher TwR craft are also very draggy. Generally larger more complicated craft can be bogged down by a lot of drag. There is a lot of drag around 350 m/s (trans-sonic speeds) what can seemingly create a wall of drag that wont let your craft accelerate through it.
  16. Mike Kerman trying desperately to get his damaged plane back to KSC.
  17. Hahaha, I wish I thought of that when I was starting out. Unfortunately most of the ships will be disbanded as the payloads get where they need to be, so that 52 figure wont last long.
  18. I did some work on my Gilly base. -Rocket
  19. No worries, I'm working on it as I type this. I need the fleet to do a few course corrections on its way to Jool. -Rocket
