  1. The eco-enthusiasts already have a problem with wind mills chopping up birds. Imagine a pillar of fiery death in the sky.
  2. The multitude of "Add Moar Planets!" threads have all been merged into one. If there is some confusion in the discussion, this is why.
  3. It might, It might not.... but in the spirit of KSP, who would really want to be restricted to any one form factor?
  4. Or at least get some screen shots so we can enjoy too.....
  5. Nah.... I'm more of a Darth Maul type of character....
  6. Exactly. My response to the trailer, after seeing the last two movies, *yawn*. Which means, if they do even a decent job, I might actually be surprised and enjoy it some. I think Jar Jar would have improved ep VII and VIII.
  7. And he convinced the studio to let him keep the rights, instead of the normal (today) of the studio hanging on to it. My 9 year old nephew is infatuated with star wars, all the movies. He likes the Avengers movies, but the clear cut good and bad sides of it are what make it easier for him to associate with it. Of course, he goes as darth vader for halloween every year.
  8. Just don't take it to a place where it will be locked.
  9. Some individual help requests have been moved to their own thread.
  10. Should have been in your boots! Waiter, there's a merged thread in my soup.
  11. I can't speak to the timeline, as that does seem odd, but the rest is standard practice for most fire services. . Usually a single unit will arrive on scene first. This may have been the only dispatched unit, or depending on the structure in question, just the first to arrive. This unit gets eyes on the situation, and reports in with what is actually going on. Then they decide to escalate the response if necessary. Each structure within a fire district is (usually) routinely inspected. These inspectors then take their notes, and help create what known as a MABAS card. This card, originally kept in a roll-o-Dex on the dispatchers desk, lists the various response levels a structure requires for the amount of fire that they find. This is where the term '5 (or whatever) alarm fire' comes from. If the situation can be handled by just the initial responders dispatched, then it remains a 1 alarm fire, but if they need some backup, it will escalate to a '2nd alarm fire'. Which means, the dispatcher looks on the card (or computer screen today), and alarms out the units listed on the 2nd alarm for that structure. The initial units can easily request higher levels of alarm if needed, requesting the 3rd alarm, 4th alarm, etc, to be dispatched to that location. And that's why you hear on the news, "There was a 6 alarm fire today in the warehouse".... Since the alarm levels vary from structure to structure, the meanings of the various alarm levels are hard to compare. A small cabin might only have two alarms on it's card. First alarm being whatever unit that can get there with a portable fire extinguisher, and the second being, "oh let's send a real fire truck". But a factory's first alarm might be 3 engine's, a squad, and an officer, just because the size of building requires that many people to just find the trash can fire. In college, I lived next to an "Advanced Materials Lab", which we found out when there was a simple trash can fire, had a first alarm of 5 engines, a bunch of squads, and a full hazmat team. Just cause if that place started burning, it would get nasty quickly.
  12. This was my thinking too. So if you set decline penalty to 0, and then decline a whole bunch of them you don't want to do, exit MC and then re-enter, it should spawn a new list of offered contracts. So yeah, I don't think a mod looking for new contracts will do any good, or even work at all.
  13. I gotta back this up as a fan. I Have all the boxed sets, read all the books, but I don't have access to the show live. So let's try to refrain from spoilers in general threads. That, and we have spoiler tags for a reason. And yes, that's my biggest gripe of the day. EDIT: And I thought we were in a different thread
  14. Bumping this over to Tech support, as it was a question, but now a tech support issue, that seems almost resolved.
  15. And now that I'm looking at this closer, All I can think of for that plane design is a vacuum cleaner for birds.
  16. No, no it's not. Not like that. Not when you are supposed to be connected to it!! But given it's a single frame in the transition, yeah that's cool.
  17. Most of those are already in the stock game as "World Firsts". If they were coded as achievements outside the game, they would only be obtainable once. The World Firsts do offer some cash, science, and Rep rewards in game, IIRC, and in the early stages of a career game, these bonuses do help. So if they became out of game achievements, only obtainable once, then any subsequent games you start, you wouldn't be eligible for them. Now if we include a bunch of random weirdo achievements, in game and out, so it covers all players, like "Summit K2" or "Climb on top of a monolith", then I could get behind that.
  18. KAC has this feature. You can, from the KSC scene, have it set alarms for whatever transfer window you choose (any origin to any destination), launch your craft, and then fast forward to whatever time you have specified for it to stop before the transfer window.
  19. Wow. I've seen these done in dominos (these take a while to input subsequent calculations), and various modern computer games, and even with Conways Game of Life, but I never expected to see one here. Nice!
