Game Is Crashing On Console
Gargamel replied to Jeremiah's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (Console)
Moved to Console Tech Support -
Hey guys, if you want to talk about the release date of this update, that's great, keep on it, but for any other discussion related to the Console update, let's head over to the Discussion thread. If we have multiple conversations going in multiple threads, it will just fracture those conversations, and confuse people. Including me. \

That's a bit of a stretch. Consoles might eventually get a similar update, but even then it may not be the same content. The platforms are significantly different, and there are technical differences that may prevent certain features from being implemented. I wouldn't want to get anybodies hopes up for a feature that may never arrive, until Squad has officially announced it.

As this is a modded game with a technical issue that requires support, I've moved this to Modded technical support.

Hi @Cathix03, welcome to our little corner of the net! MJ is notoriously inefficient when it comes to RCS usage for Docking. You could try scouring the MJ release thread for info on changing the PID settings some to see if it helps, but I have found that if MJ get's stuck in a loop trying to dock, I just turn it off and dock manually. Now, this might seem like it defeats the purpose of using an autopilot, but sometimes you just have to step in take over. By the time you realize MJ isn't going to cut it this time, you are usually 95% of the way there, so you just have to pilot the end of the sequence. There are a lot of mods out there that help you dock manually, and I strongly suggest having these on standby when using MJ. Check out this thread for some really good tips on learning to dock:

For one of the bigger jokesters on the Forums, you sure missed that one.... He even used your own "joke in spoiler" method. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alice_Cooper -
Earth was almost flat disc - new Moon theory
Gargamel replied to Cassel's topic in Science & Spaceflight
Hey Guys, Some stuff had to be removed from the thread. Remember, it's against the forum guidelines to be discussing Religion, Politics, and Conspiracy Theories and the like. So let's try to avoid those topics while we discuss the topic at hand, shall we? Thanks! -

Moved to Game play Questions. The Dv map in this thread will help you figure this out. But from my experience with gilly, it's more like docking with it, rather than landing on it. You only need 30 dv to land/launch (from orbit)

I have seen you post this in a couple of places. What's the logic behind this? I'm curious.

Wait... how do you schedule a funeral 6 months in advance? Unless this is something to do with being a veteran and it takes a while to get interred at Arlington.

Points in time when videos/guides become obsolete?
Gargamel replied to Celthon's topic in KSP1 Discussion
But I can't remember if Orbital Mechanics has ever been changed, aside from getting it to work right initially, so anything related to that should be current. -

Certain searches break the forum software?
Gargamel replied to RocketSquid's topic in Kerbal Network
Yes, Coatl brings me to a white screen. We'll be mentioning this to the appropriate people. -
Ah, well, without any context, it's very difficult to know which video you are referring to, he's made a lot of videos. Perhaps you would like to provide some links and help us out some? And I'm pretty sure it's turtles IRL and in the game. But the only way to know is to head out there and find out.

I'm pretty sure it's been well proven that any scenario can pretty much fit with a zombie movie. I mean, cmon... (and I've seen this, it's actually pretty good) https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1374989/ Pride and Prejudice and Zombies.

Rocket blows up when approached by kerbal
Gargamel replied to dangros's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, modded installs)
Moved to Tech Support, modded. And if I was a rocket, I too would blow up if I saw Jeb walking towards me. Might as well get it over with. -
I've had better. Because of Legal reasons. Probably hit pause during the beginning of the video. ??? IRL or In game? Answer is the same, it's turtles all the way.....

For Questions That Don't Merit Their Own Thread
Gargamel replied to Skyler4856's topic in Science & Spaceflight
The rigid body was not a single air chamber, but usually filled with a series of smaller bags (still big though). That way, if there was a leak in one of them, the airship would not lose all it's buoyancy. Plus these bags were big, and little bullet holes take a long time for the lifting gas to leak out. Also, unless the holes go through the top of the bags, some gas would remain inside damage bags. -
Ability to fix solar panels
Gargamel replied to Bej Kerman's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
I believe they are saying they attach a new solar panel to the Klaw, and "dock" it on the intended vessel. Kinda kludgy, but it works. Probably not so much for a small rover where the Klaw would tip the thing over. Another option (yes, a mod, "There's a mod for that", forgive me) is to use KIS/KAS. Send up a new panel, and attach it on EVA. Which I think is more realistic than repairing a broken one. If the crystals themselves of a panel are broken, then pretty much your only option is replacement. Broken hinges and wiring can be fixed, but the game really only has a yes/no option. The act of having to send a repair mission, or just an EVA if you really planned ahead, does add a lot of fun to the game.
