parts [1.10.x] SDHI Service Module System (V4.0.4 / 11 October 2020)
Starwaster replied to sumghai's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
If you do decide to use it, you'll need to use Collada when it's time to export to Unity. I don't recall the exact procedure but I re-downloaded it today so I can do some modeling. So if you need help with exporting, send me a PM. -
FIX: Dock / Undocking Bug in 0.23.5
Starwaster replied to Claw's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, unmodded installs)
But will this help in situations where one docking port's data was written incorrectly or a botched repair job made it worse? (i.e. DOCKEDVESSEL improperly constructed while fixing the save file) -
parts [1.10.x] SDHI Service Module System (V4.0.4 / 11 October 2020)

3D Studio? Is that the only two choices now? I use SoftImage XSI ModTool 7.5 myself and have been since I started modding for Crysis http://www.moddb.com/members/varsity/downloads/autodesk-softimage-mod-tool-75 That's the so-called demo version but it had a lot of its functionality unlocked shortly before being discontinued. Thank you EVER so much Autodesk for BUYING the company only so you could kill ModTool. I cannot use the words I would like to use to describe Autodesk without incurring the righteous wrath of the moderators. Suffice it to say I hate and despise Autodesk and am at this moment thinking all kinds of horrible thoughts in their general direction.... P.S. Much easier to learn and use than Blender. -
parts [1.10.x] SDHI Service Module System (V4.0.4 / 11 October 2020)
Starwaster replied to sumghai's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
One moment while I sharpen my teeth. Please keep your head still ... No, just kidding! I'm pretty sure nobody has made anything like that for SDHI. As for the heat shield, the problem is that the command module's bottom doesn't come as far down as it should. It's quite literally too short. You could fix it by adjusting the node but then that means other things won't fit properly. -
parts [1.10.x] SDHI Service Module System (V4.0.4 / 11 October 2020)

You mean Stock Part Revamp conflicts with SDHI. The hatch in the boost cover is in exactly the right position. Ven is making changes that break compatibility with existing parts. It also breaks compatibility with the SDHI heat shield leaving a noticeable gap between the two. I can appreciate that people like the art style of Ven's work but if he wants to make changes of that magnitude that's his lookout. IMNSHO -
You can also try hardening the edge where the cockpit is recessed. Basically the entire edge that surrounds the black section around the canopy. I would also do the same for the top of the cone where your docking port attaches and the bottom just after the ring of tiles. That might not be the correct terminology for your modeling software BTW but how the surface is shaded is influenced by whether the edges are hard or soft. When you make cuts or recesses into an area that's soft (or smooth shaded) it's a good idea to explicitly mark the section that has to be hard or it will confuse KSP's renderer (and maybe the modeler)

Looks good, but minor gripe (No, not a gripe, a nitpick and one I'm guilty of myself occasionally) What are being referred to as Variables should more properly be referred to as Fields because that's what they're generally being loaded as in the actual code. Edit clarification: Only referring to usage of term Variable in the recent pages, not the MM variables as described here: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/55219-Module-Manager-2-3-5-%28Sept-14%29-Loading-Speed-Fix?p=1416253&viewfull=1#post1416253

Those rescale the size of the model but they don't increase power generation, which would logically happen when the panel surface area is increased. @KerbIndustries: Do the panels rotate to track the sun?

[0.90] Stock Drag Fix - Mar 19, 2015 (BETA UPDATE)
Starwaster replied to Starwaster's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
It doesn't affect lift ratings at all. That's something that could be done if there's sufficient need for it. I don't fly planes that much and never really looked at the lift system in stock so I didn't give it much thought. -

[0.90] Stock Drag Fix - Mar 19, 2015 (BETA UPDATE)
Starwaster replied to Starwaster's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Possible, yes. Can't say when it would happen -
There's an animal rescue named Cauzican.... (offtopic; sorry, just sayin')
-
Yes it is. It's either the PQSCity or PQSDecal for that site. On my iPhone so I can't be precise.

Sounds like density exponent doesn't match aero FX exponent. In debug settings. They should be the same. Or aero FX slightly higher is ok (ie density exponent 0.5 / aero FX exponent 0.6 works.

parts [1.10.x] SDHI Service Module System (V4.0.4 / 11 October 2020)
Starwaster replied to sumghai's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
I don't think this matters with regards to the specific problem you're having, but you're not using the right heat shield there. That heat shield is from the DRE pack, which is fine, but it's not a good fit with the SDHI service module, which has its own heat shield. It's better to use the SDHI one because other parts like the boost cover will fit better. -
parts [1.10.x] SDHI Service Module System (V4.0.4 / 11 October 2020)

I see. Ok, the 64 bit version was created specifically to counter a decoupling bug that was common to the 64 bit client at that time. I don't know if the bug was applicable to all 64 bit clients or just the windows version. (which is known to be very buggy) Nor am I aware as to whether this bug still currently exists. In any event it is normal for the two to exhibit the same behavior and I would probably consider it a bug if one of them behaved differently than the other regardless of what client you use.
