Basic science experiment for all probe cores?
Superfluous J replied to mr. engino's topic in KSP1 Mods Discussions
I vaguely recall doing "telemetry data" on a probe core. No idea what mod it was but maybe search on that? -
I don't understand why the spaguetti rockets are not fixed
Superfluous J replied to Luc1fer's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Just because something is a mod does not mean it should be in stock. I personally consider KJR to be cheating*. If your rocket is so flimsy that you need KJR to launch it, you built a bad rocket. The only bug in the game is that the rocket doesn't - like it would in real life - just explode. *And by "cheating" I mean I won't use it because it allows me to ignore aspects of the game I find important, but don't look down on anybody else who uses it because they don't find those aspects important. -
This question would probably go into Kerbal Network as it's not about the game, but the forum. Upload your image to a hosting site. I prefer Imgur. Find the link to it. Usually on Imgur click the image to make it in it's own window, and right-click to get the image itself. You want something ending in "jpg" or "png" or whatever format your file is in. Paste the link here and - if you have the right link - the forum will automatically put the picture in.

A whole family in the living room watching TV
Superfluous J replied to Gordon Dry's topic in The Lounge
Wow I wish I took the same SAT test you did. Mine had math and word usage on it and was pretty in-depth. Of course, I took it before many on this forum were born so... Hey we still have the History* channel and Bravo**. *I mean trucker and hillbilly reality shows. **I mean sassy housewives. -
I used to have the EXACT same problem. I tried several things to alleviate it but eventually I just had to accept that sometimes, time warping is OK. I started by forcing a 10 day rest between launches if waiting for any alarms. Then it became 20 days. When I started going to places outside of Duna's orbit, I upped that to 50 and then 100. Then I started rounding up to the nearest 100 It weaned me off of the need to constantly be productive with my time.

Or intentionally.

Thinking of picking the game up, how is it?
Superfluous J replied to Soapstone's topic in KSP1 Discussion
One biggie I don't see mentioned: the graphics are nice but plain. -
KSP Quality Declining Rapidly
Superfluous J replied to DocMoriarty's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
1.4 and its updates - and in particular Making History - is the buggiest update that I can think of (though I remember being pretty unhappy with 1.0, I think that was more because it was still in Beta but they were calling it done) but I don't think it has anything to do with Take 2 and I don't think it means things are getting worse in general. One update has to be the worst, and this is just that one. One data point is not a trend. If 1.5 is a buggy mess worse than 1.4, then we may have something to talk about. But so far all we have is one blip on the radar. -
Yeah those older Star Wars movies they made for free were the best ones.
-
But the terms of the deal included them being able to alter the deal. Claiming that the deal you signed is different than what you signed isn't honest either.

Imagine you buy a car for $20 and drive it for 5 years for free... You can't equate software and hardware. The comparisons always fail.

I really liked it. May try to catch it again before it leaves theaters. I really liked all the scenes where the different characters got to interact. Very well done on all counts. Can't be bothered to spoiler anything on mobile, so I'll end it with that.

Make the desert not the sun
Superfluous J replied to Kerbal01's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
I've found the desert needs the ambient light slider toned down a tad. Not too bad for just parachuting down but if you're low flying over it, no way. Too bad the game doesn't auto-ambient a bit to turn up the dark and dim the bright, but you can't have everything. -
A whole family in the living room watching TV
Superfluous J replied to Gordon Dry's topic in The Lounge
Meh all that's different is these days the people who don't want to interact with each other don't interact with each other. Families that actually want to talk to each other still do. Those that don't, talk to the people they want to talk to instead of whomever they happen to be near at the time. -
The Equatorial Minmus Challenge
Superfluous J replied to Superfluous J's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
I see what you did there. But while we're being pedantic, you can't burn at Minmus perigee at all. It'd be like burning at 27:00 am on Thendsday Febtober Sevth. The Minmus burn must be centered on periapsis within a reasonable deviation. -
Purist or not? Do you use DLC parts in your creations?
Superfluous J replied to lodger's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I install the stuff to use it, not to avoid using it out of weird "purity" reasons. If I wanted to not use it, I'd not have bought it. Or, in the case of mods, installed it.- 51 replies

I tend to visit this forum via an activity stream of the forums I care about, and for the past 2-3 days (I've been on vacation so not actively checking every hour like I normally do ) that stream has either been totally bare or only had 1-2 items in it, and at the top are the words Also, I notice that instead of being told that someone liked my post, the forum tells me that someone "reacted to" it. I see no announcements here so I'm wondering, did something go wrong? Is it just me? Is there a big upgrade/change in the works? Did I miss the announcement? How many licks does it actually take to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop?

I had the super high expectation that I could complete a single Mission without being so frustrated with the user interface that I'd rather just stop playing than even do enough testing to fill out a bug report. I also had the super high expectation that I could create a mission without the exact same thing happening. Neither of those expectations were met. I guess the fault is mine.

Bad science in fiction Hall of Shame
