  1. No I think he means the part named (in the game text at least) the Mobile Launch Platform, that you can place anywhere in the solar system during missions. I also assume he wants to be able to place that part anywhere in the solar system, or at least anywhere on Kerbin.
  2. The Mission Builder, which is really the only reason I was excited for it, is too buggy to be worth using IMO. The missions that came with it, which was a nice bit of side content I was hoping to wile away a few hours on, is also so buggy that I don't feel it's worth playing. That leaves the parts, which I'm sure will come in handy but parts are parts, you know? So all in all I'm not too happy with it.
  3. The quickest way to level 3 (which is the most you need to perform any tasks. L5 engineers and scientists get bigger bonuses) is to pass through Mun's SOI, leave Kerbin's SOI, come back, land on Minmus, and plant a flag. I used to have a dedicated ship to do it with something like 10 Kerbals.
  4. And you can flip that inane setting in options somewhere. Something like "I like controlling my ship" or "don't hide navball in map mode" or something like that.
  5. It's super clunky but you can go in and edit the mission file. It's a lot like the save game persistent file.
  6. Haha I managed to break the very first mission by recovering my vessel instead of reverting to VAB. Now I'm at the space center and every single building reports itself as "closed" when I click it. Cutely, I have 1337 science. Alt-F4, back to playing Into The Breach for now.
  7. Here's another one. Needs a picture. Note the location of the Sun, and the lighting of Pol.
  8. I've only been fighting the mission editor for a few minutes and I've already found a bug. You can orbit Laythe - and I assume all other moons if not planets as well - outside their SOIs so you have to dial the slider back a bit. And if you do that, the graphic of your orbit gets overlaid on the left side of the screen, not in the box on the right. I also found quite a number of UI elements that are out of whack. For example, the info boxes on the right keep jumping around as I select them and they're all the same color so when they do, they get lost to my eyes. And it took me a while to figure out how to create a ship for the mission, as all that's up in that area of the UI is a drop box that's empty. I had to scroll all the way down to where I could click a button to create the ship. I also found what appears to be detritus from testing or a previous version of the mission builder. When you make a mission, it is saved in \ksp\missions\ but the structure of the mission is also created in \ksp\saves\test_missions\ for some reason. I'm going to keep at it but it really feels like this needed to bake for another... I have no idea how much time.
  9. You may need to go through tech nodes you've purchased and click on and buy each new part, in the R&D building. Also to make sure you have them at all, start a new sandbox game.
  10. Bought it on my phone. Remote installed it on my PC. I AM LIVING IN THE FUTURE AND MY BODY IS READY.
  11. I don't work for Squad or Take 2 but the last 3 companies I've worked for all bought out the company I'd worked for prior, and in each case if a significant portion of the customers had decided that they weren't going to buy the product anymore because the money wouldn't benefit the "real" people who actually did the work, I'd be out of a job.
  12. We don't actually know the details of the purchase. And in any case it's more than the $0 they'll get if T2 decides they're not worth it.
  13. Hear, hear. Nice change after the recent popular threads around here. I'm not a programmer but I wonder how easy it would be to detect these edge cases and for them display a number with a star, and a hover tooltip or something that says "You're doing something here I don't understand, so this number may not actually be all that helpful. Proceed with caution!"
  14. Sorry I was being a bit too terse. That's what I meant. In science/sandbox, with kerbal xp enabled, Jeb can change a tire and reset a goo, and Bob and Bill can pilot Basically, there is no practical distinction between scientist, pilot, and engineer. I was assuming (hoping) that enabling Kerbal experience would eliminate that, too.
  15. This is why I don't buy anything from GoG. I'd rather pay a couple extra bucks than wait for updates.
  16. Cool find! My next science run will be much more fun because of this. It's amazing that I can still learn little things about this game even now. I assume it's also means Blob can't fix tires and Jeb can't reset Mystery Goos anymore.
  17. It's super light and very low on the tech tree. It can control simple rovers and even reach orbit without a ton of trouble. And everything that it gets in these modes as a bonus, every other probe has.
  18. I doubt it. A better argument could be made that the core in science and sandbox mode should lose SAS and reaction wheels.
  19. I would love it if all mods updated instantly upon a new release. I'd also love it if I could snap my fingers and stop the rain. No sense being mad that neither happens. I'm grateful instead that they're there in the first place, and that I can easily play the version of KSP they're written for.
  20. The big problem is orientation and positioning. If the new part is a different size or shape your ship could get pretty - and literally - bent out of shape.
  21. In the future try increasing the priority of the tanks you're concerned about and running the engine on the runway. If they work they'll drain first.
  22. Is it weird that this it's my single favorite thing in 1.4? It barely edges out the new decoupler models.
  23. Yeah. It was called space base df9 No they just stopped working on it and bailed. Sorry for this last quote I'm on mobile and the interface sucks more than ksp on console.
