Fusion reactor, novel design shape - Tokamak
Aghanim replied to PB666's topic in Science & Spaceflight
I want to correct this, you are probably thinking about IFMIF, International Fusion Material Irradiation Facility, which uses particle accelerator to create high-energy neutrons to simulate the inside of an operating fusion reactor, but it is still projected, so maybe that other reactor that you are thinking is JET? DEMO is ITER that can generate electricity -

There is a slight problem though... So unless you can contribute to AJE directly, I think we need to implement a stop gap measure by making all intakes produces both Intake Air and IntakeAtm And it seems that there is some mod conflicts with Realism Overhaul, which is that the turbojets stops producing exhaust flame, which I like, and it also stops producing any sound, which is weird. Currently I'm testing it more to isolate the problem -

Is it possible to make your Thermal Turbojet compatible with Advanced Jet Engine? The problem is that intakes with AJE installed stops producing IntakeAtm and instead it produces Intake Air -
Is it possible to make this mod compatible with Thermal Turbojet from KSP Interstellar? The problem is that thermal turbojet only uses air as its reaction mass, so it can be used in planets that have 'air' but no oxygen, like Jool and Eve. Does Advanced Jet Engine intakes account for that and allows air intake in those situations? And thermal turbojets can switch propellant like RAPIER

Is B9 Procedural Wing : http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/104966-1-0-2-B9-Aerospace-Procedural-Parts-0-40-Updated-09-06-15 allowed? -
Try Ferram Aerospace Research, and there is only two possibilities that can follow, either you will spend 1-3 hours designing your aircraft so that all the stability numbers are green then you obsess for the area ruling number, then you test it and found it is unstable, then you go back and redesign your aircraft, even to the point that you need to restart from scratch, or you will think that FAR is some overcomplicated aerodynamics that is too tedious. I've been in both of them. Then, after you get your ideal aircraft, you try to do full IVA+map view missions. Awesome
-
Does RPM provides basic FAR info like mach speed and possibly dynamic pressure? I've seen somewhere here that RPM already have some FAR integration by displaying spoiler and flap status, but I cannot found it

Blame google for this, as inferring from his small post count I think that he is searching google for Ksp value and google returns KSP forums as top search result, then he searched for forum section that is most relevant to him, which is The Science Lab, and he registered in it... But its alright qdhuasheng, there are a lot of awesome discoveries in this world that the inventors stumble upon, like dynamite, slinky or X-rays or even peanut butter, and Kerbal Space Program is also one of them, spend some time in this forum and you will discover that Kerbal Space Program is an awesome game that can teach you space physics

I'm still noob at nuFAR stuff, how do I area rule aircraft properly? This is my simple plane using procedural B9 and procedural parts: The plane have 1.2 m2 wave drag area, but from the generation 5 fighter challenge I've seen designs that can go as low as 0.5 m2 wave drag area, how do they do it? And how do I use spoilers and flaps?

Imgur and Reddit: A small part of it contains NSFW content, hence all of it is NSFW site and needs to be blocked to protect us, which in the process destroys all forums that rely on imgur for image hosting, which is like most of them.

If you meant like KSC island with black thingy like this: then it is a bug in CKAN version of Kopernicus as discussed in previous page, and to solve that you can either manually upgrade it to 0.2.3 or delete setting.cfg from KSP root folder
-
It works! +rep to you! Now why does CKAN still give us that bugged version then? Maybe this is the time we need to complain to them...

As a person that spends most of my time trying to beat filters and such because I believe in reasonably free internet, I agree with this. This is how I beat network filtering: The simplest way is to change your DNS from automatic to google DNS, as the lightest and simplest web filtering is to hijack DNS requests from your computer to a controlled DNS server, which because DNS is the way of computers to translate web addresses to IP addresses, means that it can be used for redirecting the requests from the original server to the controlled server, which can be used either for caching requests, or to display this website is blocked message. This is the simplest way to block stuff, with easy way to bypass too. To make it harder to bypass, sometime they either block alternate DNS server, like my school, or they redirect alternate DNS server, like my ISP, which in this way can be fixed by using dnscrypt, which encrypts the DNS traffic so no one can mess with it. The stronger way filters works is to use deep packet inspection, which as the name suggests, it inspects all packets to see if they contain prohibited information or not. This is more stronger as the only way to circumvent this is to use some sort of proxy like web proxy or VPN, but this is more heavy, so this is used if the people/organization really don't want that information to be received, like enterprises and China. Countermeasure to this is to use VPN and proxy, which encrypts the traffic so the DPI filter doesn't know it contains the banned information, and it goes to a server in a free internet zone where it gets decrypted and go back to its original server. This is called tunneling. HTTPS also works similarly. Counter-countermeasure to this is to block VPN and proxy traffic But the most powerful way to bypass all of that filters is to use other internet completely, like using 3G/LTE connection or piggybacking free wifi. Countermeasure to this is to jam other radios, either by spamming trash radio signals or by impersonating other wifi and sending disconnect command to it. Needless to say that this requires some enterprise grade stuff. Then there is MAC filtering that prevents unauthorized devices on the network, but home routers typically only implement this on the wifi side and not the ethernet side, and MAC spoofing defeats this entirely. Remember that the internet interprets censorship as damage and routes around it, and information want to be free. I'm fine with they blocking facebook and steam in my school, or my ISP blocks pornographic websites, but I'm not fine with my ISP to block reddit and imgur. tl;dr: good luck blocking internet traffic without some serious enterprise grade routers

This is my second take on this challenge, with 3 circumnavigations in 2 hours and 47 minutes Now I'm doing the suborbital challenge. Unfortunately Interstellar engines are banned, and for a good reason, because staying suborbital using thermal turbojets powered by antimatter is already a challenge by itself...

Depends on the thruster technology though. You can expect a cold gas thruster can be designed deeply throttled, as it is basically a gas tank connected to a nozzle by a valve. I have no idea for ion drives though.

One question: Why proton-boron instead of helium3-helium3 fusion? First proton-boron fusion still produces neutron, which carries 0.2% of power produced. Then helium3-helium3 fusion is more energetic, with helium3-helium3 fusion generates 207.5 TJ/kg with exhaust velocity of 6.8%c instead of proton-boron 69.97 TJ/kg with exhaust velocity of 4.5%c. Then what I think the most important advantage of helium3-helium3 fusion is that we can mine that in gas giants, but mining boron in outer space is harder, as in I cannot find any source that states that we can find boron in outer space. Feel free to correct me though.

Reporting more small fusion reactor power instability with KSP Interstellar 1.1.19, which is going to space center and back kills the reactor: The probe is connected to the spaceplane and its fusion reactor is running The fusion reactor can self sustain Then I returned to space center and then I return back to my probe, which is KSS Orcrist Probe Then the reactor fails -

I have finally caught the weird timewarp bug with steps to fully reproduce with clean installation of KSPI with several other mods, which are: B9 Aerospace procedural wing Community Resource Pack CrossFeedEnabler FAR Interstellar Fuel Switch RPM KAS KIS MechJeb ModularFlightIntegrator (for FAR) Pilot Assistant RealFuels SolverEngines (for RealFuels) Throttle Controlled Avionics TweakScale Waypoint Manager Setup: 1 1.25 OMEGA fusion reactor with 1.25m charged particle generator with 0.625m molten salt reactor with KTEC solid state generator. As you can see, there are enough radiators to radiate all the heat. Reactor is running normal at 1x Reactor is stable at 50x warp, with some hiccups in the power at beginning and it stabilized Decreasing it to 10x warp makes the reactor hiccups in power and it kills itself, while the fission reactors are stable at their full power -

Is it normal that all fusion reactors stops producing energy at timewarp? Because of that I cannot make a small probe using magnetic rocket because as soon as I timewarp everything stops producing power and cryostat starts to boil its LH2 contents, and dusty reactor cannot be downsized to 1.25m -
Well lets say I want to make an addon so I can control Pilot Assistant and KSP Interstellar from IVA. Now, I can create a page for that, as there is that manual in github, but how do I select it then? As far as I know all of the buttons in the MFD are already bound to a page and adding more pages means that I need to add more buttons, so is there any way to do it without needing to mess up with the models?
