Has anyone figured out how to make custom categories in the editor? Do you have to be in advanced mode to see them? Do all of them have to have subcategories? I just wanted to make a tab, that stays in non advanced mode, for electrical stuff and it seems I cant do that. -

NERVA I wonder if the genomic analysis of samples is something that would actually work on a probe. I'm trying to think of the ways I've prepared samples for sequencing and if that can be done on a probe, and in those conditions. I've only sent stuff out though, I might be getting some hands on sequencing experience this January though. It's an interesting idea, to say the least. If you did find new life their, every geneticist and biologist would be kicking themselves beyond belief if we didnt send a genome tester. -

Busting proteins with heat isn't always a big deal. I actually have a bio degree and know how they deal with spaceship sterilizations and I've had to work in sterile environments for cell culture and such... left that out of the op. I've denatured plenty of proteins with heat for certain kidns of assays. Plus bacterial endospores can be fine with boiling water, as can other kinds of 'living' things. And I'm sure you all know about tardigrades or Deinococcus radiodurans. I know you can't be 100% sure of sterile anything. I'm just thinking, if there's potentially a bunch of liquid water there, you're going to have to think pretty hard to make sure you don't accidentally dump something that can live in there. I mean, it might not actually be able to live in there, but that's not really something you can chance. Maybe we just gamma radiate the probe for a long time and hope the instruments are cool with it. -

What's the rate that the umbilical towers feed fuel to a ship? I'm finding that the KW 5m engines use fuel faster than it can feed it and they take a sec to spin up to max thrust. Should I just put more towers?

So NASA says they want to send something to Eurpoa with the SLS and I believe other ideas proposed to burrow into the ice and into the liquid ocean. I bet you thought this was going to be a "can this moon support life thread", but here I'm interested in keeping life off Europa. Namely, a craft making it through the ice and into the presumed ocean would probably have to be one of the most sterile things ever created. So what do you think guys, how do we sterilize such a craft?

guess i installed wrong or something cause I dont see them... or maybe I missed them? the game didnt load vessels that had them on their after i updated so i probably messed up. -

Are those black sas modules still in here? I'm not seeing them? Which part folder are they in if they are because I deleted some stuff since I'm using procedural tanks. But I left the SAS folder in there. -
how does one get this to work on osx 10.10.1? I have the .exe in a folder on my desktop and I have the mono runtime environment installed 3.10.0. where do i go from there? as in what am i supposed to be typing into terminal? i tired doing "mono ckan.exe" and just "ckan.exe" but nothing happens. I read through the thread and can't figure it out still.

I don't want to bother stupid chris with this, so he doesn't need to answer but for some reason I can't change the size of the chutes anymore. All they do is move up and down a bit when I change the size. It must be because of something I've installed recently but I'm not sure what it was. If anyone has a similar issue and knows what it is then that'd be cool. Otherwise I'll figure it out. I think all i recently installed was deadly reentry, those fasa launch towers, and time control. I'll try taking those out and see what happens. -

Can anybody recommend a good cheaper joystick? or if I could find a cool one on sale for black friday. -
If you guys ever did plan to land something, do you know if there are any biological contamination procedures you'd need to follow? NASA goes through a lot of effort to make sure they don't inadvertently end up putting signs of life on other planets cause that would be bad and it also makes it hard to see if you detected yourself or something from the planet.

How do you install this? I took the bolded folder and put that in the gamedata folder of ksp ad it doesn't work. Adjustable_Landing_Gear-1.0.3 2/GameData/BahaSP also i have your lightning cockpit installed and it's also called bahasp so i renamed the one for the gears as adjustable gears but still no go.

Do your guys floaties... float? my command pods seem to sink further with the floaties on even with buoyancy turned all the way up. -

Huh, oddly enough I also got something to the bottom of the ocean. brought this into orbit and swung by the mun while i was out there. then because i wanted to land in daylight i made a really steep reentry. needless to say it didnt work too well so I hit the ocean at almost 2000m/s and was underwater for awhile until i floated to the top. thats the remaining pieces underwater and that brings us to where we are now anybody know if you can make seaplanes?

I just made the a successful space shuttle system with this mod it's fantastic! anyway a few things I noticed are that the wheels have a... i don't know what to call it, a hit box? anyway I can attach stuff to the wheels even when they're retracted and they sort of get in the way. So it's like they're always deployed in terms of part attachment and sometimes block the addition or other parts. But it's not too big a deal if you turn part clipping on so. Also a suggestion for them is it possible to make the height adjustable in increments?- 4,460 replies

So you can run this mod even in .25? I installed it but it doesnt seem to work. I'll have to try again because the ghosting and constant display of directions was better than orbital only and no ghosting at all.
