Wow that is amazing! Truly an awesome job there. I'm surprised I missed it. I'll have to see if KerbPaint works in 1.1.3 but I could do with a green Huey.

Ah I see. Yeah I guess they look better in the turret. I'm pretty sure you need the targeting ball/pod to use the TOW missiles. You lock on with it and you can also steer the missiles with the direction pad. You should be able to restrict the yaw and pitch movement of the turrets by right clicking them in the SPH. I would imagine they would still hit the target as long as you are facing the target in the allowable cone of fire which I think is also displayed on the targeting screen.

I will probably build my own version at some point although it will be pretty similar to the original rather than being authentic. Is it not possible to mount TOW's straight on winglets without the TOW launcher?

Thanks, I could have made it better but I got a bit fed up of it towards the end. Other people like Azimech or Major Jim tend to make better interiors than me. I just wanted Kerbals to hop in and out of it at will.

Why did they roll the Space Shuttle anyway? Couldn't they have launched it 180 degrees and just pitched backwards? Or didn't they have the launch facilities for that?

Woah cool! I tired it with 2 chain gun turrets hanging out the sides but promptly shot down my own craft. I'm not sure if that is a bug with BDA and 1.1.3 as its not supposed to do that. I'll try and land on the carrier with it when I get Vessel Mover working again. Makes me wonder if it's worth making a Kerbal Vietnam pack with some of your fighter planes.

Thank you! I think it flies pretty well too. Funny thing is you can cut the engines and it's light enough for the skids to cushion the impact.

Haha brilliant! Didn't they have any other Vietnam era songs in that game? I seem to remember BF:Vietnam had quite a few but most people would be playing Nowhere To Run or whatever it was called. Battlefield wasn't the same since they made BF3 imo.

Lol, I never played BC2 but I did play a lot of BF:Vietnam back in the day and it always amused me when someone was playing that song out of a jet with the Doppler effect distorting it so much.

Yeah, the Aerials make it look a bit like that. It would be nice if Squad made more stock bits and pieces like that to jazz things up a bit.

Here's my attempt at a Huey replica. The only mod needed is KAX for the rotor blades.
165 parts, (6 are jettisoned). 11.11 tons. Seats 2+8 Kerbals.
Hot key 1 toggles rotor engines.
Remember: The last Kerbal you put in a seat is the pilot. If this Kerbal is in a side seat don't forget to change control to a front facing Kerbal or the control ring near the main rotor or your controls will be reversed! I forget this all the time.
Looking on Google there are quite a few variations of seat layout so I just went with the one I liked the look of. You can easily move/add/remove your own seats. It's not a perfect replica but I wanted to keep the part count down and it was hard finding the right parts for a helicopter that matched the scale of the Kerbals.
The actual craft will look like below. This is to allow easy loading of Kerbals.

Are you going to put more seats in or just leave it at the two on either side of the transmission? The Huey has two seats on the sides, as well as four across the front of the transmission, and most have two jump seats opposite those.

Yeah I can do that. I did like the look of an empty deck but I can upload variants if you wish assuming the Kerbals fit ok.

OK, here's the A variant with unclipped engines. The first one flies better as the CoL and CoM are better aligned but this one still does the job.

Thanks for the comments! I clipped the engines together to keep the aesthetics but maintain enough power for horizontal flight but I could always put them underneath the wing or something. I'd just need to move the Panther engines to rebalance vertical thrust which is easy enough.

I humbly request this mod to be remade for 1.1.3 please. I would love to use it to fly multiple helicopters in formation. It would make a great video.
