  1. I don't know, I was thinking of just carving a kerbal out of foam. Layering foam and rounded things don't work too well. But we could give it a shot. - - - Updated - - - What if I made a cube oven with fire brick and fire mortar, and then used more fire mortar to make the inside circular? That way it would be easy to build, easy to work with, and more stable on the ground.
  2. I sincerely +1 this. This would be amazing. Maybe if we don't have the pod, we can still have a little toolbar display for ammo? Where when you load the ship it counts the number of ammo, rockets, missiles on board, and then updates when you fire some? This would be super amazing. I wan't this targeting pod now.
  3. at Ace Hardware, I asked about water glass and I got a blank stare. I asked about sodium silicate and got another blank stare. I asked about fireclay and I got "we have fire bricks" I went to Home Depot, asked about water glass, got a blank stare. Asked about sodium silicate and got "our chemically stuff is over here" and online someone said you could use tsp as sodium silicate. Tsp being "tri sodium phosphate" I asked about fireclay, said they didn't have it. Asked about heat resistant concrete, they said they called quickrite and the didn't even make the stuff. Also, about the kerbals, I wasn't talking like a 2inch tall kerbal, I meant like at least 4 inches tall. If it doesn't work it doesn't work. But if it does....
  4. Already planned, I found a nice lemon bar pan that will make nice rounded rectangular ingots.
  5. Ok, I'm going to buy firebricks and pound them into powder. What should I use to bind it? The only sodium silicate I could find wasn't even real sodium silicate, it was TSP, a cleaning chemical.
  6. I will also have fireplace tongs for handling the molten metal in the crucible. It is 3 feet long, so I won't be that close to the molten stuff. Well. I couldn't find fire concrete or fire clay anywhere, closest I came to were fire bricks. and Bricks don't work well in a bucket. Maybe I should just buy a bunch of bricks and make a little cube oven for this. Would that work better? I could make it out of fire bricks and fireplace mortar. and a door on it out of the fire bricks. It would take a bit of design work, but is this a better plan the the bucket?
  7. Yes, it will be charcoal with air pushed in through a hole in the side.(if you watch the video I posted you will see) So I can't use just cement? Gah. this is getting complicated. As far as lining, the foundry is inside a 6 gallon galvanized steel bucket with a lid fashioned out of whatever I make the foundry base out of. (again, video will show it) So the foundry "rock" part is inside the bucket, the bucket acts as the housing for the whole thing and the outside lining. There will be a hole, angled down into the chamber for safety, with a /cheap hair dryer attached to the end of a pipe blowing air into the foundry. - - - Updated - - - Can I use this stuff? http://www.efireplacestore.com/rut-615.html At first I was thinking of buying some fire bricks and filling the gaps with this stuff, but could I just make the whole inside lining out of this?
  8. Remvar? Are you alien? /me puts on tin foil hat
  9. using the same accusation as at least 4 other people on TrainEngie? Cheater! Find something else to accuse him of!
  10. The Forum BB Code list doesn't include tables, so here is how you can make a table on the forum. Example: Usage: [noparse][table=class: cms_table__grid, width: ###] [tr][td]value[/td][td]value[/td][/tr] [tr][td]value[/td][td]value[/td][/tr][/table][/noparse] where "tr" = Table Row and "td" = Table Cell Example Usage: [noparse][TABLE=class: cms_table__grid, width: 500] [tr] [td]content[/td] [td]content[/td] [/tr] [tr] [td]content 2[/td] [td]content 2[/td] [/tr] [/table][/noparse] Example Output: [TABLE=class: cms_table__grid, width: 500] [tr] [td]content[/td] [td]content[/td] [/tr] [tr] [td]content 2[/td] [td]content 2[/td] [/tr] [/table]
  11. Ok hold on. I was sure you could update videos. I'm searching through video editor now and can't seem to find it. I sure hope I was right. I remember seeing it somewhere. And I know a channel that has a 5 second blurb in the front of every video that changes when they have new news. Like all the videos' first 5 seconds change when they release something new. hmmm. EDIT: Aha! Found it! You go to Video manager, click edit on the video you want to edit, then click the enhancements tab, and at the bottom it says "Combine multiple clips and publish new videos. Try the YouTube Video Editor" and you click that button and you can totally delete the video and substitute a new one in it's place! Or you can just edit the existing video. It's really awesome. I'm so glad I wasn't giving false hope!
  12. Gloves: check Coveralls: Probably not Boots: check Mask: half-check (half face mask) My mold will be foam inside of wet sand. the molten aluminum instantly vaporizes the foam and fills the void. Its a cheap reusable mold. I will have water buckets and hoses for extinguishing. (and guys this is charcoal we're talking about here) I'm only using half plaster of paris, mixed with sand for the foundry. Is this really gonna be that much of a problem? if so, can you point me to a good firebrick recipe? also, it's not like I was gonna get sniff happy around the smelter.
  13. Woooaaahhhhhh........ I don't think we have fire ant colonies here though. Just regular ants. Maybe a smaller scale one?
  14. Anyone who gets mad at a computer and calls it stupid when a webpage won't work. Computer problems≠Internet/webpage problems
  15. Thanks! Tomorrow will hopefully be materials acquiring day. Setting it up won't take more than a few hours. Making stuff, maybe a few days. Updating the OP with Projected Timeline and where to get the materials.
  16. 0.6g? Pluto is only 1/8th the diameter of Earth, and it has over half the gravity? or did you mean 0.06? Yeah, I looked it up, got 0.07g.
  17. Haven't made my own enchanting table yet. Yet.
  18. Well, I saw a video of how to make your own Aluminum can smelter, and decided I wanted to do it. It will be a bit of a project, and its really cool, so I thought I would log my progress here, that way others can make it their project too. WARNING: Be Careful if attempting this project! Follow all Safety Precautions shown in the video! I have removed the video, since using plaster of paris will be very dangerous. Well, here are my progress charts: [TABLE=class: cms_table_cms_table_cms_table_cms_table_cms_table_cms_table_cms_table_cms_table_grid, width: 500] [tr] [td]Overall Completion[/td] [td]0%[/td] [/tr][/table] [TABLE=class: cms_table_cms_table_cms_table_cms_table_cms_table_cms_table_cms_table_cms_table_grid, width: 500] [TR] [TD]Acquiring Materials[/TD] [TD]Phase I[/TD] [/TR] [TR] [TD]6 Gallon Steel Bucket[/TD] [TD]Not Acquired[/TD] [/TR] [TR] [TD]Plaster of Paris[/TD] [TD]Not Acquired[/TD] [/TR] [tr] [td]Play Sand[/td] [td]Not Acquired[/td] [/tr] [TR] [TD]Pail[/TD] [TD]Not Acquired[/TD] [/TR] [TR] [TD]1"x 10" Steel Pipe[/TD] [TD]Not Acquired[/TD] [/TR] [TR] [TD]1" PVC adapter[/TD] [TD]Not Acquired[/TD] [/TR] [TR] [TD]1" PVC pipe[/TD] [TD]Not Acquired[/TD] [/TR] [TR] [TD]3" Steel Pipe and End Cap[/TD] [TD]Not Acquired[/TD] [/TR] [TR] [TD]U Bolts x 2[/TD] [TD]Not Acquired[/TD] [/TR] [TR] [TD]Charcoal Briquettes[/TD] [TD]Not Acquired[/TD] [/TR] [TR] [td]Progress[/td] [td]0%[/td][/tr] [/TABLE] Note: Everything listed above can typically be bought at any standard hardware store. Well, with me luck! And Good luck to anyone else trying out this project!
  19. Alright. Watched some vids (yes in ten minutes XD) Drawings: keep em. It's really cool that you can draw that good and teach others. Outro: see above Plasma globe hack: 250k views??? HOLY CRAP. My advice on this one, if you really hate the video, remake it! on youtube you can reupload an updated version of a video, so why not do that? Re-record the video from start to finish with better commentary and better quality (and more safety notes ) and then upload it in place of the old one. It will retain it's rating and view number, which will attract new viewers, but it will be better quality, which will attract them to your channel. Win win!
  20. Some of the most popular youtubers that play KSP, (Jacksepticeye and the like) the video is literally 80% them messing around in the editor trying to find the right parts, 10% actually flying and testing, and 10% loading screen. And yet people beg for more. I hate them cause they're boring, but people love them because of the sometimes hilarious creations and commentary. So, if you're wanting to heavily edit KSP craft creations, by all means go for it. From my perspective, *I think anyone who plays KSP hates watching someone else build for long periods of time, but anyone who just watches someone play KSP doesn't mind. *Purely my opinion of course Maybe you could do a bit of a midway, where it is cut and edited, but you keep the more interesting parts of the build, like after you get a frame and start adding features to the craft, tweaks and utilities and such, and then fly and crash and do it again. As for outros, I like them. It gives the channel a signature. Like danny2462, his outro is well known amongst most people here, and when Ronin Pawn made a danny parody, the outro was the coolest part cause he had it copied to a tee. Maybe your outro could just be an animated bagel rabit flying through space like nyan cat or something. Wow, I really like to answer things backwards don't I? Bagel drawins: Haven't seen them, going to watch them now. However, I would say keep them, they're a cool little quirk that is most of the time entertaining.
