OK, I could not find a place for this thread. Its about hardware, so space lounge seems right...but it's also about the game software, so space lounge doesn't work. Gameplay questions doesn't work cause its about hardware and about PPFX highlighting. Support doesn't work cause I'm not asking for support really, just some questions about PPFX highlighting and such. So i just threw it here for the mods to decide. Cause I'm really lost as to where this goes. So, my question is, what hardware supports PPFX highlighting? I have a NVidia 330 graphics card with 1GB of VRAM, but I can't use PPFX highlighting because it has "no hardware support" well what hardware do support it? Cause my desktop couldn't do it either, even with its very modern8 Intel Integrated HD graphpics. *off the shelf a month ago

Ramp jumps. Has anyone done the Astro Spiral?
Endersmens replied to Galane's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
Classic mistake...he let his foot off the gas in the air. (Causing forwards rotation as the wheels slow down plus the rotation from the back wheels still being on the ramp after the front wheels left ) Keeping the gas on puts torque Into the wheels, and thanks to newtons law, causes the vehicle to rotate the opposite direction of wheel travel (so nose up in this case ) Effectively using gas and brake in the air, one can control forward and back rotation. (Assuming the vehicle has lots of power ) -
Holy Necro Posts batman! JK, I'm actually glad this got dug up, cause now I'm genuinely curious for a scientific explanation of eve's purpleness.

Ramp jumps. Has anyone done the Astro Spiral?

Can we have some rules for this? I got it to spin around, bounce off the landing ramp sideways, and then land on its wheels. Did that count? XD -

I have a ramp design. rover at 20 m/s does 3/4th a spin before stopping. (wonder why it stops spinning...) - - - Updated - - - Would it count if I did a 180 degree spin? with the 360 roll? Cause that's what its doing right now -

With some cleverness, you could still use the bay and make the bottom flat. I believe in you.
-
Why don't you just use a Mk 2 bay for a bomb pod and build the plane around it? That's what My plans are anyways.

Have you any modding experience? You could make a mod that adds a "Change keybindings to Dvorak" option in the keybindings settings page.

Well, the way you suggested might be a bit too complicated for non-computer people. Your way involves pasting into the settings.cfg, mine involves pasting the settings.cfg. Which in my mind is much easier and less complicated. If you want, when i get home I can past that module into the settings.cfg and then send it to you to test it out to make sure everything is correct, and then you can put the settings.cfg up for download. This way people only* have to paste it over their existing settings.cfg, which isn't all that confusing. *well they willl have to change their other settings if they had them other than default, but there aren't many, so it should be all good. Maybe offer the .cfg for non computer people, and the .txt file for those who wanna keep their other settings and just change keybindings.

Alright pendant, I'm about to blow your mind. ( i think) You'll have to put a bit of work in to this, but once you're done it will solve your problem. First off, put your windows in Dvorak mode so that the keys actually line up. (what you said about x actually being brakes) Then, go in the settings and remap every key to what you want. It will take a bit, but it will be worth it. Once you have everything mapped just right, the way you want it, save it and exit the game. Go to the KSP folder, find the settings.cfg, and copy it. Go to your desktop, make a new folder, name it "KSP Dvorak Keybindings" or something, paste the settings.cfg file into that folder. Now, keep it there. Whenever you get a new install, or you mess something up in your current once regarding keybindings, you can open the KSP folder, delete the settings.cfg, then copy and paste the settings.cfg from the "KSP Dvorak Keybindings" folder. This will replace the keybindings with the ones you set up manually. Which means, to switch from Sholes to Dvorak, you simply have to delete the existing settings.cfg and replace it with the one you saved onto your desktop. And to revert back to Sholes, you simply have to delete the settings.cfg in your KSP folder, and it will generate a default one with Sholes layout. I think this is the solution you were looking for. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I redacted my response as i realized that he had typed conscience instead of conscious. I thought you made the name mistake, but actually he did. Check the post I replaced it with. Yes, they are different. Conscience is the voice in your head, conscious is being aware. Sorry 'bout that.
