Speaking of geo...er, Kerbisynchronous orbits, the altitude is around 2,868,750 meters. A little less or more doesn't really matter. I have 2 satellites up there for weather condition mapping. (Not really, but that is what they would do)

HUH?! That *must* be a mod thing. Career mode (even in the Config file!) has no message like that. I say get rid of the mods.

THAT.... is one of the *best* ideas I've heard so far. Now, the game is still in Alpha stage, so the devs could be planning on adding it. What would be even better is that the map view would not show anything until you "find" the planet by seeing it through a telescope in orbit or on the ground.

Does said module have a probe core and RCS? If it does, switch to it and thrust just a *little* bit forward, go back to the arm, and dock it.

My spaceplanes AND rockets have escape systems. When I use that inline cockpit, I have 4 sepatrons and 2 radial-mount parachutes, along with 2 decouplers on the ends. The wings are also attached to decouplers, and have their own sepatron motors. So when I hit abort, the wings come flying off, the body goes flying back, the nose shoots forward, and my cockpit goes up.
