  1. Are you sure the ship didn't undergo a breakage when the fuel flow doesn't work? Use F3 to bring up the flight log and verify that isn't the case
  2. The default control orientation is not always lined up to the probe core esp. when it's a vessel separation type situation. Try releasing the bomb, then switching to it, then clicking "control from here" and let us know how it goes
  3. After you switch to the missile, have you clicked on the probe core to select "control from here" ?
  4. But doesn't it make sense to have to buy capsules again? It's not as if they sent up the same command module for the various Apollo missions
  5. In some of the methods that have been suggested, would people just continuously reuse any recovered crafts or parts? What about capsules? Can one reuse those? That seems somewhat unrealistic
  6. From my experience so far the RAPIER really shines when used in high air-breathing TWR configurations, taking the craft to high velocities quickly and efficiently and punching out to orbit, minimizing gravity losses and preserving lots of dV even in the face of increased mass
  7. I think we should wait for Xeldrak to weigh in before staging a spinoff, seems a bit disrespectful IMO
  8. Folks, if you're going to use this thread as a showcase as opposed to WIP posts, please at least consider using albums instead of having us scroll through what seems like a hundred pictures. =)
  9. Hopefully we can take Kessler Syndrome to the max with asteroids!
  10. XD I definitely have X-Wing v Tie Fighter dreams, but my attempts at stock weapons that look aesthetically pleasing have been a bit.... failureful edit: I think we may have to discuss a resolution/number of pictures limit on this thread...
  11. You could either take two in a rocket launched vertically, or build a custom horizontally taking-off spaceplane/rocket? If you empty the tanks to be refueled in orbit it'd probably make it a lot easier to take up as well
  12. You can probably aerocapture then rescue, even if the kerbals fall off they should be aerocaptured as well as they'd be treated like spaceships. You can use the EVA jetpack to raise periapsis
  13. Trying to put the finishing touches on this guy While simultaneously figuring out what the heck to do with this guy
  14. The Mayans I believe used a base 12 system despite their presumably 10-digited hands. I assume the Kerbals too could have unshackled themselves from their biological limits
  15. Kerbin loves me so much it rarely lets me leave
  16. I think the Frak-1 by Zeke's was shown around these parts to get at least 10Gs in stock
  17. The concept of a minimus refueling station is bizarre to me. Just put the station in LKO, you dock to it for the same dV +/- a few dozen m/s as getting into orbit, and then you do your transfer with maximum Oberth effect. What benefit is there to a minimus station?
  18. this is the most important thing. even sr docking ports won't stay rigid enough with orange tanks, you need a puller
  19. They are being overly loaded it looks like causing the structure between the main fuselage and the lateral auxillary tanks with the wheels on them to fall off. Having wheels in a line like that also makes little sense, at takeoff the plane will pivot off the far back one which is way too far back from the CoM. If you want to reduce the mass per wheel, then you should put them parallel to the wing axis, not the fuselage axis
  20. I challenge you to build, from scratch, an apollo-style Mun mission and complete it, from VAB to splashdown, in a single go without quicksaves or test flights
  21. Then I accept my error and withdraw the first portion of my previous statement, though are the devs not investing a lot of time for contracts and conferences?
  22. One little additional trick is throw on an "engine saver" landing gear, very shallow so that it's not touching the ground unless you're about to tailstrike
