Some are former SpaceX employees, just as SpaceX has (or had) a lot of former NASA (or NASA contractor) employees. The rest are fresh engineering grads, along with the aforementioned former NASA personnel.

Went to a Mariners-Blue Jays game in Seattle yesterday, and got a bonus: some flybys! We apparently missed a P-51, but the top of the parkade was good for spotting some others. First, the Blue Angels' "Fat Albert" C-130 was lumbering around... Then the Blue Angels themselves flew around for awhile... But while waiting for those... IT'S A BIRD! IT'S A PLANE! IT'S.... nope, just a bird... Gotta love that shade of blue sky. Beautiful day.

How hard would it be to type blood in a primitive setting? Of course, the materials for transfusions would be pretty tough. Then there's fermenting and distilling alcohol as a disinfectant. Not sure how the locals would regard you if they started drinking it though...

Wildlife? Unidentified caterpillar on my pop-up camper... The things you see while wandering around Seattle.... Before watching the home team take on the Blue Jays... Good game, at least from a Canadian standpoint... (We forgot to get close to the Space Needle.We were just looking for free things to do)

I may not go to space today. It seems the cat caught my mouse...

I find my NAS (WD MyCloud) to be pathetically slow for any large transfers, unless I plug in. Understandable, but annoying.

That disk cleanup link looks useful. A quick way to get rid of temp files is to type “%temp%” into the start bar, which brings up the temporary files. Ctrl-a to select all, delete, then empty recycle bin

For most of July I saw Mars as I left for work at 4am. But I think now it has set before I leave. Skies have been pretty hazy too lately

The reason for using SRBs is almost surely political. Gotta keep those boys at Morton Thiokol (now ATK?) shoveling pork into those massive SRBs. In other words, more jobs in more congressional districts.

Depending on how your keyboard defaults are set up, you may need to press a modifier key for the F keys to work. For example, the function keys on my keyboard are tied to things like volume, brightness, playback controls, etc. To get a KSP function to work, I have to hold my “fn” key (located near the left side ctrl, alt, and the Windows key on my HP laptop) and press the F key. Say, fn-F1 for screenshot, fn-F2 to hide the UI, etc...

Well, with the right window/trajectory it will get you pretty much anywhere (not so sure about Moho) but it probably won't be enough to get you back, and may not be enough to enter orbit there, depending on your destination.

I managed to get in my annual round of golf yesterday at Meridian Pitch and Putt in south Surrey... Complaint 1. Temperature in the low 30’s C. Pack lots of water. But cooler than it would have been closer to home in the Fraser Valley Complaint 2: one wheel keeps falling off my golf bag, and was forgotten when I switched into my friends’ vehicle. So silly me dragged my bag around half the course, before giving up and going bagless on the shorter back 9. So no golf bag to pack water in for that half Complaint 3: hot and dry makes for stupidly fast greens. I had a long birdie putt lip around the hole for a 90degree turn, then slowly roll down, off the green and down the hill, ending up 30 yard from the hole , turning what would have been a 2 if it was a quarter inch closer, into something like an 8 So overall, I stank up the place, shooting an 88 on a par 55 course, even though I did hit some nice tee shots and made some nice putts, managing to par a couple of holes I guess I shouldn’t really complain at all, since a bad round of golf is better than a good day at work anytime. Complaint 4: I really need to go golfing more....

Another simple solution is to have two engines thrusting in opposite directions, so they cancel out...
