I'd tell you, but then I'd have to kill you... -
Yeah, I’d have him establish a permanent colony on Eve

totm march 2020 So what song is stuck in your head today?
StrandedonEarth replied to SmileyTRex's topic in The Lounge
Oh hey, I like that! I’ll have to cue it up when I’m about to execute a tricky landing. I have an Eve Return landing coming up, and I think I have a Tylo Return lander in the Jool system somewhere... Now where did it go...? -

No matter what planet or moon you jump on, you hit the ground with the same force you jumped off with. Less only if you have air drag to slow you down -
Need help with a spinning rocket
StrandedonEarth replied to Duckle's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Yeah, you may need (more) struts for the boosters. If they get wobbly they can make the whole stack roll, I've found that out for myself the hard way -

Oh, well, if you want more "ex-from-hell" type songs... (I linked to where the vocals start; there's a minute of instrumental before that) But wait! There's more Weird Al! -
If you’re in a food fight, almost counts with cauliflower too...

Well, it says my location below my name on the sidebar when viewing the forums on PC. And if you don't know where the Great White North is, then "Take off, eh!" Still unclear? Google "Bob and Doug McKenzie"

Unfortunately, that's the way retail has evolved. They started having a seasonal section, and they don't want to have empty shelves, so as soon as one season sells out, the next arrives. In a lot of places Back-to-School takes up less space as more schools start to distribute their own packages so everyone the same, good quality stuff. Staples/Office Depot, or their equivalent, handles the rest and fills whatever gaps are left. Which gets annoying when the school insists the kid buys a new package of supplies for the new year, while there are cases full of quarter-used pencil crayons and such still at home.

I would guess by using a device that can impart a known impulse. How fast the object to be weighed moves will determine its weight in accordance to FT=mV (impulse equals momentum) -
The other great thing about the TWP mod is that, if you have a mod like Precise Maneuver, you can use the "copy details" button in TWP and paste the maneuver into Precise Maneuver (there's a button for that; look for the tooltip to identify it). It might not be perfect, but it'll get you into the ballpark.

Since an abort sequence will generally try to shut down the engines if they’re still burning, and F9 starts its recovery maneuvering in space, I really doubt this booster will be able to save itself. -
I do like this idea. The whole space program could be based on found parts, with R&D based on reverse engineering them. We already have crashed UFO Easter eggs in game; finding them should be required to acquire certain techs. I imagine this could be modded in, although I suppose it would be a major project.

Next you’ll come up with a 4D Rubik’s cube....

Returning Player - So how is KSP doing?
StrandedonEarth replied to Audiopulse's topic in KSP1 Discussion
You can also stack contracts, and use the same craft for multiple contracts. Station contracts are good for this. If you can grab contracts for Kerbin, Mun, and Solar stations (or solar and then Duna or Eve), then launch one station and use it to complete all three contracts. Even better are stations for Ike and Duna, or the Joolian moons. Less grind, more profit. For the earlier game, you can do the same with satellites in the Kerbin system, for less fundage, of course. -
Bad science in fiction Hall of Shame
StrandedonEarth replied to peadar1987's topic in Science & Spaceflight
I always envisioned dimensions as a coordinate system. The more dimensions, the more coordinates. This slots time neatly into the fourth dimension, and allows me to envision more dimensions that way, where a fifth dimension would amount to a parallel universe. it is hard to envision multiple dimensions in the real world otherwise, but it’s easy to see as a, for example, six coordinate array in computer memory. A six dimensional database, if you will -
Hmm, yes, also known as "flying standby," where you wait around the airport, and if there are any seats left on a plane departing soon, you can buy a ticket for cheap. But if there are no seats left, you're not going anywhere anytime soon. I imagine it will be awhile before BO or VG have any standby seats available...
