Was the TESS mission launched on B1045? That would make sense, because today's APOD... You can see "45" quite plainly... -
"Mün" When I made a KSP limerick I had to assume it rhymed with Soon to make it rhyme properly....

I'm one of the generally silent ones that prefers they take their time and get it right, even though there are major bugs right now. As for the complaint that content is holding up bugfixes, well, I, and presumably most if not all of the modders, would prefer one patch instead of two. Disclaimer: I've been on the edge of KSP burnout for awhile now, and haven't even touched 1.4.x yet. But I'm still fairly active in the forum (even if I'm just lurking a lot of the time), it's my goto website. So I've just been patiently waiting for the game to get back to a point where I feel comfortable downloading the newest version, and the required mods, to see if my 1.3.1 save plays nice with 1.4.x. Yes, I usually start a new save with a new version, but I'm not done with my old save yet. Until then....

totm march 2020 So what song is stuck in your head today?
StrandedonEarth replied to SmileyTRex's topic in The Lounge
I'm a machine operator at work. Every now and then, the machine likes to jam. On those rare occasions that I catch it before it can get jammed up, I tend to use a quote from an Eddie Murphy comedy routine that I can't repeat here, but it ends with "Eddie." After one such occurrence today, I ended up with another part of his routine stuck in my head. Miraculously, it's clean enough to post here... -
Right back atcha!

Is that supposed to be some kind of small moon?

I think they learned their lesson about Heavies: sounds easy, but reality is hard -
tips on building a trip master/ tachometer/ odometer
StrandedonEarth replied to xendelaar's topic in The Lounge
Glad to hear you’re making progress. As I went through this thread I also thought of the ABS sensor, great minds and all that. But now to the point... When determining your wheel/tire radius, it’s important to measure the loaded radius. Measure from the center of the wheel to the ground, not the top of the tire. That will give you the most accurate result when calculating circumference. Remember you want to be at rally weight, so have someone in the drivers seat and anything else that might be aboard. Of course, calibrating against a known distance as suggested above is also a great idea. -

We were born scientists... -
Although what I haven't seen in trailers so far is any evidence of the canon story that Han met Chewie by rescuing him from Imperial slavery... Although I suppose that part is yet to be shown...

how to get this into orbit.
StrandedonEarth replied to putnamto's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
You don't have to have a fairing. Brute force it straight up and turn to the horizon at around 40-50km. Inefficient but effective. Balance problems? Launch 2, one on each side. -
Yeah, I kinda got the impression that Han didn't have a good hand there.... *whistles nonchalantly*

Well, if it’s a weird enough orbit, they want to make sure they got the guidance program right, to make sure it goes to the right place. They certainly don’t want to copy the Russian rocket stage that thought it was launching from a different spaceport. -

Bad science in fiction Hall of Shame

So "The Meg" is the megalodon from Jurassic World that apparently escaped. That's my story and I'm sticking to it!
